Yesterday morning I dropped Eenan off at school and left the cupcakes in the classroom. Ms. O. was there so we talked for a little bit about Krispy Kreme (they’re selling them at Circle K now–YES!) and her pregnancy. I came home, got Mario’s & Jaylen’s clothes ready and at 8:30 we left to the awards assembly. Poor Eenan didn’t get a thing . They were only giving Kinder and Pre-K awards for perfect attendance and of course, Eenan was sick a few times this year with Pnuemonia and had to miss. Had they given out awards for Honor Roll in Kinder, Eenan definetly would have gotten a trophy. Yes, a trophy. They were giving out trophys and a CD Player to kids with perfect attendance and a trophy and a BIKE for kids who made the honor roll. Luckily, Eenan already has both–so hopefully he didn’t feel too bad. If he said anything about it after school, Mario and I decided we’d go out and buy him a little trophy and engrave it for him since he did exceptionally well this year. He was one of the top 3 in reading, homework, and grades in his class–but of course they don’t count it yet . He didn’t seem upset at all though, so I felt a little less upset about it.

Right after the assembly, I dropped Mario off at home, picked John up and took him to the stadium for his graduation practice. I was so nervous driving over there, since the cops drive around that area and our darn left blinker has a habit of going out sometimes and they’ll definetly stop me for that. And hello, I have no license. But I did fine and there were no cops around .

I came home, chilled out all afternoon and then we picked Eenan up. Ms. O. had invited us to the party, which started at 2:30, but we didn’t get there till 2:40 and they close the darn gate by then . When they finally let us drive in, we went in to the school. Ms. O. was upset because McDonald’s–which is right across the expressway about 5 blocks down–still hadn’t brought the Happy Meals the school’d ordered for the kids at around 2. Some of the kids, like walking and bus kids, didn’t get to have one . There was 2 other moms there and between all of us we seperated all the fries and burgers and nuggets into ziplocs and passed them to the kids. Since they had some left over, she gave the other Mom’s toddlers and Jaylen a Happy Meal each…aww . We talked for a little bit and then said our goodbyes, which was so sad. Eenan hugged her and said, “I love you, Miss!” She hugged me and shook Mario’s hand and told us how we were great parents and we told her what a great teacher she was. She said to stop by next year and visit her and the baby LOL. I can only hope Eenan has a teacher as nice as her next year.

Tonight’s John’s graduation. I think I’ll start getting ready at 3:30, because I need that much time to flat-iron my hair, iron all the clothes and clean a little bit. We have to be there by 6pm. The kids have been…okay so far. They’ve already wrestled a few times, but at least they’re calm now. I haven’t pulled my hair out or screamed into a pillow yet, so we’re doing alright .

Yadira’s Get-together & Grandma Chelo

I’ve been hacking up a lung since I woke up this morning. I was feeling SO much better yesterday–there was the occassional nose-blowing, but that’s about it. Now, I can’t go 10 seconds without coughing. Doesn’t help I had Cheerios with sliced bananas and milk. The milk produces more damn phlem. My damn chest is hurting .

Mario didn’t get home from work last night till 3:30am! He normally goes in at 10am, but went in at 9am because he had an alarm to do. He did 6 of his own cars, finished his last one at 8:30, owner picked it up at 9 and then he stayed to help Jorge, Albert and two other guys finish up 3 cars the boss said they “had” to get done. So they stayed till 3am. That’s just horrible. And instead of giving them slack–and say, letting them go in a little later–oh no, they had to go in at 9am again. Grr. Poor Mario’s so burned out and it’s barely Tuesday!

Grandma Chelo, my Dad’s mother, passed away this weekend . I found out on Saturday, only because Dad’s ex- bitch mistress is the one who called to tell me. Well, she only has Mary’s number, not ours, so she called and gave Mary the message. I really don’t like her. I don’t know why she has to call when she’s not even family. Dad called yesterday, and probably didn’t call sooner only because he was so distraught. I feel almost guilty that I didn’t break down when I heard. Mario said not to be hard on myself as I hadn’t seen her in years, since I was about 12 or 13 I think, and we weren’t very close after that. I’m just glad she isn’t suffering anymore. I heard her last few years were an uphill battle for her . I feel terrible I didn’t get to see her, but in a way, I’m kind of glad I remember her as I do–she was a very strong woman–and not when her health was deteriorating.

Yadira’s birthday get-together was nice. The women sat around the table mostly talking about weight loss and other girly things. Mary made lasagna and salad, which was delicious. Mary used some cucumbers from Grandpa Dario’s (flourishing!) garden…they were seriously the most ripe, crunchy cucumbers I’ve ever eaten. He’s got watermelons and just about everything growning in his garden. I can only wish for a green thumb…I’m surprised the Ivy mom gave me is still alive!

After Yadira’s party we went to visit Tia Alicia and Tia Aurora, who’s visiting from California. Bless Tia Alicia’s heart, who said I looked much, MUCH thinner than the last time she saw me. I beg to differ, but I’ll take any compliments .

Well, Jaylen’s up and I have (more) laundry to do and REALLY need to clean out the turtles’ tank, so this will be all. Jackie’s gotten so big…she’s bigger than Squirt and he’s much older than her! I hope his growth wasn’t stunted for being the the tiny tank they gave Yadira .

My Little Graduate

I’m watching American Idol right now…everyone was sucking until Bo Bice started belting out “Stand By Me”. Not only do I love this song because it reminds me of when I was little and would listen to oldies with my Mom, but he’s got such a nice voice *swoon*. (OOoh he also sang “How Far Is Heaven”…loved it!) I still can’t believe Constantine got voted off before Anthony Federov and Scott Savol (but I like how he sings, sometimes). I can’t believe Paula CRIED! Oooh now Carrie’s on…she’s my favorite.

Eenan’s graduation was today . He looked so handsome in his shirt, tie and slacks.

Mary went with me to drop him off and we spoke to Ms. O., who looked so cute in her maternity clothes . She took all their gowns to iron them at home, herself. I stopped by the classroom before Eenan got out of school yesterday so that I could pick up the gown to iron but she said she’d do it. I kept asking her, “Are you sure??”, but she insisted.

When we got back from dropping him off I frantically ironed all our clothes, and flat-ironed my hair, got all the cameras together and whatever else that needed to be done. I would have done everything last night except Mary and I went to Wal-Mart to get “surprises” for Eenan to give him after his graduation. After 30 minutes of rummaging through the piles of stuffed animals stuffed in the shelves she found a graduation bear and I got him a Glow in the Dark Do-Your-Best Bear from Mario and I. Needless to say, I was dead tired when we got home.

We got to the Performing Arts Center at the high school at around 8:35-8:40 and didn’t get seated till at least 9:15! The graduation was set to start at 9am and they didn’t start till 10 something. It was all made up for when they showed a video Mr. Z., the music teacher, had put together. It was mostly pictures of the kids all doing their work in their classes. When I see them flash a picture of Eenan up there I started bawling. They were also playing Leann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” in the background, so that hit me and I couldn’t get the tears to stop LOL. I love that song!

He looked so cute going up there and getting his “diploma” (which was a fake rolled up piece of paper they took away LOL). He looked over to us when he went up the steps, kind of posing for us to take a picture. When all the kids got their “diplomas” we all walked out and met the kids in the main lobby(?) and took pictures of them, etc. I took a picture of Eenan, the pimp, with his arms around two of his (girl) friends. Too cute! We met the kids back at school and checked Eenan out for the rest of the day. He took a few pictures with friends, Ms. O., us and a group picture. He had so much fun and was beaming with pride since he’s going to 1st grade next year, “like Angela”.

Since the graduation took so long, and Mario had to leave to work by 12:20 and Mary had to go to work too, we just stopped by McDonald’s (since it’s the closest, fastest thing). We’ve been chilling out at home since. He’s so happy he’s “un-grounded” now LOL. He was grounded most of the weekend because he got a referral for sticking gum in a little boy’s hair during graduation practice last Wednesday .

As for the weekend, it was spent in town buying Mother’s Day gifts, getting John’s graduation stuff, and buying last minute stuff for Eenan’s graduation. We got:

1. Mary – 2 DVDs
2. Mom – shoes she wanted and gold/cubic zirconia earrings
3. Gramma – a nightgown and some chocolates
4. Aunt Nora – cubic zirconia earrings

We went to the circus Saturday night (Mary, Sonia, Yadira, the girls, Andy, Noelia, and the boys and I). It was nice…I was STILL expecting elephants and tigers and they didn’t have them, but it was still cool. The kids loved it. Jaylen was going psycho clapping because he was that excited.

The next day we dropped John off at home and Mom gave me my super wonderful Mom’s Day gift…the It Signature collection Bucket Bag. The first Dooney I laid eyes on back in the day and wanted:

It’s so awesome. It’s smaller than my Raspberry barrel, but still oh-so-cute .

I’m also getting back into scrapbooking. I’m slowly buying supplies, and cute embellishments and papers. I made my first page in years yesterday and it came out really nice, if I do say so myself . Noey went through a bunch of papers and cut-outs and she gave me some really cute ones (Halloween, Road Trip, Birthday themes) I want to use ASAP. She wants me to help her with hers when she’s done with her class. It shall be fun!

Okay, I should really get to vacuumming and making Mario’s lunch for tomorrow. I don’t know what to make for this man anymore!
