Got Some Action This Weekend

…No, not THAT kind, you pervs . Don’t remember much from Thursday, except grocery shopping . Friday, was the usual during the day–took Eenan & John to school, Mario left to work, I was here with Jaylen. When Mario got home from work, we left to Jorge’s. Eenan was sleeping over at Mary’s, but we had Jaylen with us so we hoped for the best. I was in the mood for a little “me” time, so I was praying he’d behave. I drove there. When we were a block away, Mario whines, “We’re never gonna get therrrre!” I actually drive the speed limit, unlike him .

We chilled out and talked most of the night. Maggie made the best margaritas I have ever tasted in my life. She put a buttload of Tequila (is that what it is?) in there and you couldn’t even taste it. I hate tasting all the alcohol in drinks . John was with us and had 5 margaritas. He actually enjoyed himself, and I’m glad. It was a night of ragging on eachother–especially husbands against wives LOL. John got a bit of crap from Mario.

The next day, I woke up early and went with Mary, Noelia, and Sonia to watch White Noise. We met Yadira, Tommy and the girls there. The movie wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be, but I liked it anyway. Wasn’t as much of a disappointment as The Grudge, though. I especially liked it because I’ve always believed in that type of stuff, and for a while even considered recording here at home. When I saw the end though, I was kinda like, “Umm, maybe it’s not such a good idea.” LOL.

I would have had a much better time had this dumb woman with spider legs and her gorilla of a boyfriend not been kicking my seat the beginning half of the movie. I asked her twice to quit it and she looked straight ahead as if she didn’t hear/see me. I know she did since you can clearly see the people who are sitting beneath you. I felt her feet tucked up under my seat once, and moved myself foward and then back hard and I squashed her toes . I heard her heels scrape against the floor, frantically trying to get them out. That’s what she gets . When I finally had it, I yelled out, “Excuse me, CAN YOU STOP KICKING MY SEAT, PLEASE?!?” She finally acknowledged me and said, “I ain’t kickin’ yo seat!” I look at her gorilla boyfriend and say, “Well, ONE of you is kicking my seat. Quit it.” They weren’t kicking my seat, yet, after I yelled at them my seat was left alone. Idiots. Sonia later told me the man was the one doing most of the kicking, probably just to be an ass and didn’t expect me to say anything.

We went to Wal-Mart where Mary was getting groceries and I was buying all the house supplies and junk. Kitchen gadgets make me go crazy. I finally bought a little timer (and it helped me not procrastinate as much today!). The boys fear that thing. Everytime I ask them to clean up, or do something and they refuse, I whip the timer out and they get to work. I don’t know what it is, but it works!

We got home, got the boys ready and then took them to the dollar movies to watch Shark Tale again. They’ve been wanting to go to the movies but they’re not showing anything for kids at Tinseltown. They liked it. Jaylen actually stayed awake this time. I kind of liked it a bit more the 2nd time around, too. We picked up Burger King after the movie and went home. Mario was already here and he’d picked up Pizza Hut…darnit LOL.

I woke up at 5am the next morning because I heard one of the kids’ posessed toys laughing. It creeped me out. I had my comforter pulled up to my nose and started thinking of all these weird and terrifying things. Mostly about ghosts and EVP and how they could be flying over me and watching me that very moment. Stupid movie LOL.

I woke up at 7:30 and got ready to go to the big Flea Market/Garage Sale. Mary and I were going. We went super early, so people were still setting up. I didn’t find much for myself. I got the kids 5 books: “Slug”, “Brain Cell”, “Spider”, “Curious George Goes Camping”, and “My Little Dinosaur” for $.50 a piece. I also found a Wuzzles book: “Win One For Bumblelion” for Mario and my Wuzzles collection. The books are all brand-new! I also got Pokemon: The First Movie for the kids, which I’m wondering why I got it now since they have it on VCD . I found a Teddy Ruxpin VHS tape: The Treasure of Grundo, which I got for a $1 and when I got home, noticed it’s broken. I haven’t tried it out, but darnit, it better work. I got a Care Bears stoneware mug with Love-a-lot on it for $1. A Huckleberry Pie pillow doll, a big Pound Puppy (I had when I was little!), a Yum Yums bunny (that still has a bit of scent left!), and a complete roll of Strawberry Shortcake ribbon–which I thought was really cool. I don’t think many people have that in their collections . I also got Mary two teeny little bottles for her collection. She wants to go back and get more next time

Yeah, I forgot to take a picture of a few things .

We went to H-E-B to pick up a few things then went home. We got here and I ate, ironed, and started on some enchiladas. I had it set in my head I had enough time to get Mario’s stuff together and he had a bit of time to sleep more. He wakes up at 11:09am and says, “Look at the time! What time do I go into work?!” I say, “12” and it snaps. I was supposed to wake him up at 10:20, not 11:20. I’m a dumbass. I appologized and helped him get his stuff together. Poor thing was rushing around. I was so afraid he was going to keep throwing it in my face, which would cause me to start a fight but no, he was fine and didn’t blame me.

Big Mario got home a few hours later and asked if we’d like to go to Ricky’s ranch to ride the 4×4’s. I love riding that thing and so do the boys so we got ready and left. Big Mario took the boys for a spin and Mary and I chatted with Ricky. When Big Mario got back he asked if I wanted to take the boys for a ride and I said sure. Ricky tells me to go around the trail they made, so I did. Or so, I thought I did. I only took Jaylen with me, because Eenan was tired. I went around a little loop and then came to a fork in the road. I thought, “Oh crap”, because I couldn’t remember which way I came from and just went with the left one. Big mistake. I ended up going through 3 different ranches until all I could see was grassy plain all around me. I was freaking out. Jaylen overheard me say, “Oh, God”, and asked, “Are we lost?” I tell him, “No, Baby, we’re fine.” I think he heard the nervousness in my voice because he yells, “I want Bimpa!” I re-traced my steps and went back. After what seemed like forever, I finally saw the windmill Jaylen had pointed out when we went around the loop. I drove to it and lo-and-behold I see Mary at the end of the trail. I was so relieved LOL. Big Mario had gone out to look for me with Eenan so it took him a while to come back too. Quite an adventure. The day was lovely–warm and breezy. We spent the next hour and a half riding the 4×4’s…only this time, I either followed behind someone, rode behind Mary with the kids, or stayed on the ACTUAL trail Ricky was talking about. I’d gone in a completely different direction . Something that could have been brought to my attention when they saw me go down the trail-of-no-return! But all-in-all, it was fun .

When Mario got home from work that day we went to watch Blade Trinity. It was good, I liked it. I thought it was going to suck, but I liked all the other Blade movies so this one was cool too. I hissed at yet another moron for kicking Mario’s seat a few times during this movie too . It wasn’t enough that he was hacking out chunks of lung, he had to kick Mario’s seat too.

We went to Wal-Mart after that where Mario bought a curl-bar for his weight bench. He wants to start working out again, which I’m thrilled about because it’ll hopefully encourage me to use the weight-bench too. I’ve still yet to start working out, but I spent THE WHOLE DAY cleaning so I’m happy I’m at least working on not procrastinating. I didn’t even get online at all today, except for right now of course. I hope I get everything I need to get done tomorrow because I have a few Qbee things to attend to. As for the eating-well bit of my resolutions–I’m not stuffing my face as much as I had been between meals by eating a lot of junk, though I did have a teensy bit of ice cream…twice . But I’m working on it!

After Wal-Mart, we dropped John off at home. I hope he does okay. We’ll probably be seeing him this weekend again. His ex called him right when she was boarding the plane and yelled out that she loved him and this was the stupidest thing she’s ever done. Uh, duh? She said she was hoping to come back during Spring Break. He kind of wants to wait for her. I told John he better be shitting me. I gave him my opinion on everything of course, but I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to offend him. I asked him, as gently as possible, if he really thought she’d wait for him till then. I mean, look at what she did when she first moved away; she cheated on him. What’ll stop her now? I just really think she should leave it at this and leave him alone–she’s hurt him enough. All he needs is to be completely over her, in a new relationship and then have her appear in his life again. But, he’s a big kid and can think for himself. I just hope he makes good decisions. Anyway, I only got to see Mom for a few minutes. I really miss her . I miss Gramma terribly too. I haven’t seen her in two weeks! I need to start driving over there and soon.

God, I hope Jaylen’s finally asleep. I’m so tired and Mario still wants to…uh, rendevous . Wow…the people on the new “Surreal Life” are CRAZY.

A New Year & Remembering 2004

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hope everyone’s New Year’s Eve/New Year’s were great! I thought we were going to have a crappy, just-like-any-other-day kind of day, but it actually turned out wonderfully. The boys and I lounged around all day, spent some time at Mary’s with her and Bonnie (who’d be sleeping over), and then Mario called at around 6:30 that he was out already. He picked John up and they got here. Mario was feeling really, really sick…he was congested and was beginning to get a fever, so he laid on the couch most of the night . Yazmin was here and had her Elf movie, so we watched that until Cata, Annie and the kids arrived at Mary’s. Mario and John stayed here watching the movie. Mary and Yadira had gone to H-E-B to get the ingredients for Shimp Cocktail & some fireworks and when they got here Yadira and I got to chopping/boiling everything. It was SO good! I need to add that recipe to the site because everyone should try it! The kids all had pizzas, and after eating his Jaylen sat next to me and had a little bowl of shrimp. He loves seafood .

Cata, Annie and their kids left since they were going to spend some time with Annie’s family, too. After stuffing our faces, we gathered the kids, and placed some chairs in a row for everyone to watch the fireworks. Since Mario was sick and indisposed, Mary, Yadira, Noey and I would be lighting the fireworks for the kids. I swear the little tanks had it in for me . I almost got shot in the face at least twice–and that’s because Mary was pointing them the other direction. The kids all had so much fun. Jaylen especially loved the fireworks. I don’t think he had a break at all between the sparklers and the roman candles . During one of the times I was getting a break from lighting stuff, I was sitting next to Yazmin watching the kids. We hear Grandpa mumbling, who was sitting a few chairs away from us. We slowly turn our heads and notice he’s asleep. Everyone else (Yadira, Mary, and Sonia) all knew he talked in his sleep, but Yazmin and I didn’t. He spoke so clearly! He was arguing with someone about how they were causing problems at his house and how he was being passive and calm with them LOL. Then he just stopped and we sat there with our mouths hanging open. Yazmin then whispered, “More Grandpa, more!” LOL. It was quite an interesting story.

After we finished off every last firework, we cleaned up and quickly scurried inside since it was almost time for the morons in the neighborhood to start shooting their guns. Sure, we live way out here in the boonies, but we do live within city limits and shooting is not permitted. There’s so many kids and people out there and then these idiots decide to fire their automatic riles. Yes, we heard an automatic rifle fired twice. The cops even came by because the neighbors reported gun shots. A few people got killed last year sometime (not in our city, but somewhere else…Donna?) because of stray bullets falling into their homes…don’t they learn??

We chilled out for a while and right at 12am Mario and I kissed Happy New Year (well, I kissed him on the cheek since he was sick LOL), and then we went outside to watch the huge fireworks the neighbors behind us were shooting (and hopefully not get shot ourselves). John, Mario and I were out there (Eenan was with Mary–he doesn’t like the really loud fireworks) and from where we were standing/sitting we could see all these huge fireworks. I think the church was also having some kind of display or something. It was a great night .

As for yesterday, Mario actually had a day off. We went to get hamster and rabbit food from Pet Smart then chilled out for a while. Mario had a few things to fix on the car and I cleaned just a bit (though looking around now, it hardly seems like it!). Mom called around 6:30 and told us Linda, her boyfriend, Jessica and Justin had all gotten there and we could go over anytime. We went over around 7. It was so nice to see them! I hadn’t seen Linda in over 4 years! Jessica is cute as ever. We sat around and talked for a while. They were very entertained by Eenan and Jaylen LOL. I wish we could see them more often. I really, really miss Linda, even though she was a bitch to me sometimes LOL. We met her boyfriend, Tommy. I’m glad she moved on from Joe. It sucks that he never changed .

We came home after our visit and left the boys with John. Chris invited Mario over for some shrimp and fish and Mario took me along. It was nice. Chris is such a good cook and the food was really good! It was really mellow and nice. I even got to hold some of Eddie and Chris’ cats LOL. They’re all so much nicer than freakin’ Choco Cat. She’s a little snatch all the time . When I was getting ready to leave Chris told me to bring some shrimp home. I’ll be having that for lunch in a bit, buahaha! Mario stayed for a while longer, I had to get his lunch for work today ready and had dishes and laundry to do…and it was 11pm! As I was saying goodbye to everyone Eddie says my site’s cool and I should put some pics up of everyone. I was so flattered! I had no idea he read my site . Gotta take my camera over there the next time we got over!

Today, I’m just here…finally sorting through my e-mail and of course typing this up. I have mail in there since July ! I’ve been thinking about “New Years Resolutions” and what I want to accomplish this year. I was going through my entries from last year trying to find my resolutions, but I don’t think I even had any! My computer had been in and out of consciousness around this time last year, so it must have slipped my mind. As for this year:

1. Start eating healthy and excersize! I need to–not so much lose weight–but get back in shape.
2. Get over my fear of driving in congested traffic and finally get my license! Then I can see Gramma and Mom whenever I want!
3. Stop procrastinating. I need to do what I need to do on time, such as chores!
4. That said, I need to be more organized!
5. Treat each day like it’s the last. Tell my family/friends I love and appreciate them every chance I get.
6. Finally finish remodeling the bathroom.
7. Split the bedroom!
8. Keep in touch with friends and maybe get in touch with some old ones.
9. Successfully potty train Jaylen before he turns 3 (April 18th!).
10. Teach the kids to keep their room clean .

That’s all I can remember for now…I know there’s more but I drew a blank . 2004 was a whirlwind of a year. It definetly taught me to be grateful for what I have: a roof over my head, food, clothes on my back, and most importantly my family. Mario losing his job, Gramma getting sick and put in a nursing home, Mom and John moving away, Mario getting a new job he enjoys, and greater things like all the hurricanes, the war and now the tsunami and all the lives that have been lost really put things in perspective for me. You just never know. Here’s hoping 2005 will be a better, prosperous year for everyone .

Hectic Holidays

Finally…a chance to update. Well, actually…I put off mopping all darn day (I’ve had the water with nicely scented Mr. Clean in a bucket in the kitchen since around 5 this afternoon ) and I still haven’t washed dishes. And it’s 11:41. But I’m dead tired. The past few nights I’ve only slept 4-5 hours…and I cannot function on that little sleep.

The last time I updated, I mentioned we were picking Eenan up from school. There was a huge line so we parked at some apartments. We cross the street and while I’m zipping up Jaylen’s sweater I hear Noelia saying, “What?!” I turn and this man is howling from across the street, “Is this your car?!” I nod my head and he says, “Do you live here?” I yell ‘no’ and he says, “You have to move your car!” I tell him I’ll be right back and I hear him yelling his head off. We rush to get Eenan, then rush back to the car. Took us less than 5 minutes. When we get back, we’re putting the boys in the car and there comes the buffalo-sized man. I roll my eyes at Noelia and think, ‘Oh great…another run-in with a douchebag’. He says, “Do you rent here?” I reply, “Nope, are you the owner?” and continue buckling Eenan in his seat belt. He says, “No, but I’m the landlord. You can’t be parking here.” I say, “I know, Sir. We just needed to get my son. We took less than 5 minutes.” He says, “Well, I’ve been getting calls that people have been leaving their cars here all week.”

I feel my face get hot. “Well, this is the first time we do it, and it’s not like we’re going to do it again. It’s not like we’re taking up the parking spaces,” I said, as I glide my hand in the air, Vanna White style, showing him the empty parking lot. He gets all pissy and says, “Well, I already got your license plate number and I’ll call the cops.” I roll my eyes, begin to walk to the passenger side of the car and say, “Um. Okay. Go ahead. What’s that going to do?” He just stares at me for a while and I say, “I’ll be sure to let everyone I know, know about you and your apartments.” He chuckles and says, “Oh, that don’t scare us.” (Us? Was he skitzo?) I open the door to the passenger side, get up in his face and say, “Well, you don’t scare me.” I closed the door on him (while he continued to talk out his ass), which pissed him off more and I just smiled all sarcastic-like as we drove off. Idiot. Some people just LOVE to be assholes. And I usually have the pleasure of running into assholes. They think, because of my appearance I bet (I look like I’m 16 and helpless–a doctor told me a few months ago that I look like I’m 12!), that I’ll just let myself be talked down to. Boy do they ever get a surprise. I may end up getting my ass kicked one of these days, but hell, I’m not one to keep my mouth shut.

Thursday was spent baking. I woke up, got the boys ready and dropped Eenan off at school. Then I started baking. And making lunch for Mario and Jose. All the while, panicking over Eenan’s lost white polo shirt that he needed that night for his performance. I was a wreck that day–I surely thought I’d have a breakdown. Mario finally had a day off, and I didn’t want to bother him since he was spending time with Jose…but there were a few times I was on the brink of a system meltdown and I just had to ask him to help me out. I know I shouldn’t have felt guilty (I even got all pissy once when he left “without telling me”). It is partly the whole monthly, almost-bleeding-to-death thing’s fault .

I helped Eenan with his homework after Mario picked him up, then I took a shower and then got him ready. I was a bit disappointed that his shirt didn’t fit him as well as I wanted it to (Mary bought it the night before and matched it with another polo of his that fits him). He still looked adorable though :).

It was starting to drizzle by the time we left the house. Eenan’s performance started at 6:30 and Yazmin’s started at 6. So, we planned to go see Yazmin for a bit, then rush to Eenan’s school to get our plates ($15 for 3) and take Eenan with his class to practice or whatever they were going to do to get ready. We were going to leave around 6:20…but they didn’t start the concert till 6:15 so we didn’t even get to see her sing (she had a solo!). We took Angela with us when we left and halfway to their school I realize we forgot the camcorder. It’d stayed with Noelia. I called and asked if Noelia and Mary and Jaylen could come a little earlier to bring the camcorder. I was getting really upset about not recording him on his first program ever, but they got there on time. It was crazy–it was SO packed. I hope they never have their programs at that place again. There were no seats by the time we got there. We bought our plates in advance, and still didn’t even get to get seats. So Mario asked for our money back. There were also people getting in the way while I was recording. They very well saw that I was recording and would still insist on passing right in front of me. Other than that, their little programs were great . I almost cried watching Eenan sing his little song and wave the tissue paper pom-poms around they gave them to perfom with. I’m so proud of my lil’ guy *sniff*.

When we got home, I got comfortable and back to baking I went. After finishing the snickerdoodles, I started on the sugar cookies. I’d never made them before and well, they didn’t come out as good as I’d hoped. They taste great…they’re just kinda hard . I think I almost made Grandpa’s dentures fall out . Next time I know: roll the damn dough out thicker.

I let the boys decorate a few before they went to bed. I bought them these edible markers to paint the cookies with, since I don’t trust them too much with the squeezable gels LOL.

Here’s the cookie Eenan made his teacher:

And the ones I decorated and would put in a star-shaped box with some snickerdoodles:

There were dozens of snickerdoodles (which would quickly disappear within the next few days) and a whole bunch of (hard) sugar cookies. I even burned a batch and there were still a whole lot left:

Snickerdoodles & cupcakes

Sugar cookies

You can see the teeny cupcakes behind the snickerdoodles. Since they were mini cupcakes…1 box of batter made 72 cupcakes . I was up till 1:30am that night.

I don’t remember much from Friday, except taking Eenan’s goodies to school. All the kids were gathered around us admiring the cupcakes LOL. Eenan gave his gift to Ms. Ortiz, which was a little apple-shaped ceramic plaque that says, “Teachers plant a seed that never stops growing”, or something like that. She also gave him a “reader” to practice over the holidays. She said he’s her top student and she wants him to read it first. Yay . I hope he can pick up soon. He’s learning to read pretty quickly.

When we picked Eenan up, he was really happy. His friend gave him some Yugioh cards and he got a car in the gift exchange and his other friend gave him some little cars. Ms. Ortiz hugged him and said, “Santa’s gonna bring you lots of toys since you were such a good boy this year,” and we winked in agreement.

Mario picked John up that night. He’ll be staying with us the whole 3 weeks of Christmas vacation.

On Saturday I got up early, got Mario ready for work (ironed clothes, made breakfast), gave the kids breakfast and took off to go do Mom’s Christmas shopping with Mary. Not only did we make good time, but I found stuff that everyone would like, and for good prices. I even got myself Polite Panda from Hot Topic from Mom. Last one they had. Tonight though, after showing Mary the bear, she brings a Hot Topic bag out and says, “I didn’t want to say anything because I wanted it to be a surprise, but I already got you that one” LOL. So, I’ll be returning the other one. Not sure what I’ll get in it’s place…they don’t have Perfect Panda, Treat Heart Pig or anything else (for that price, $8.99) that I want there. Stupid store. I hope they have some more in by the time we go back Friday . We left the mall at around 3:30, got home and got the boys ready and left to Gorilla George’s for a birthday party. We got there really late, but they were happy we showed up. The boys played till around 5:30 and then we left. To ANOTHER birthday party at ANOTHER pizza place. They had fun. They were quickly becoming moody at the 2nd party since they hadn’t had their naps, but we stayed since they wanted us to have cake. Tres Leches cake. One of my favorites. It tasted so good, but of course I’ve been nauseous the past few days so I didn’t get to enjoy it. No, I’m not pregnant LOL. Here’s a pic I took of the boys in the Santa corner:

They’re actually not trying to kill eachother for once LOL.

We went home and left the boys with John. We were going back to the mall for the “sale” and to Target for a few things. We were meeting Mario at the mall after he got out of work. It wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be, but for being almost midnight it was still busy. I got the last of the stuff I needed for Mom, which felt awesome. I still need Mario’s, but he wants shirts so that’ll be easy. We got home around 12:15, and again I didn’t go to sleep till really late since the toilet tank overflowed and John left wet towels and my fish mat soaked on the floor and I had to wash them. Then I was just talking to Mario, who stayed up even later than I did.

We got up early to go to the big flea market/ garage sale. I took a shower and then we were off. John gave me $20 as my Xmas gift to spend there . I went back to that same lady I bought the sleeping bags from last month and she had the Jurassic Park comforter and complete set of Care Bear sheets (for $6…$2 less than what she was asking last time)! All I got next was a new release Twink Sprite for my Hot Topic Rainbow Brite Doll, two Care Bear poseables (which I thought were vintage but aren’t! Should’ve paid attention!), and yet another Putter Popple, which I bought only because the lady wouldn’t sell the pocket Puzzle Popple seperately. She said it was Putter’s baby and that’s the way they came, which is not true . She sold it to me for a dollar more than she was asking last time, too. Dammit. They had a Yum Yum…a cat, but it was really dirty and she wanted $5. I would have bought her, but I was a bit annoyed that she didn’t want to sell me a Twink mini sprite because she was only selling it with a really beat-up looking Rainbow Brite doll, so I said, ‘nah’. I have enough ugly Rainbow Brite dolls LOL. Plus, I was bitchy because I’m menstrual . I’ve been quite unpleasant this month.

After the garage sale we went to the movies to watch Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Don’t know if I spelled that correctly. I thought it was cute, but Mario and Sonia didn’t like it LOL. Not sure who else didn’t. I want to read the books now. And they look pretty short, so I’d be able to finish them quickly, without many interruptions from the boys.

Ok, going to bed now.
