A Shopping Post

I haven’t updated in forever, I know. I must update on Jaylen & Justin’s birthdays/Easter, Alaethia’s first sleepover and both girls’ first play date (not including family), Disney on Ice, Jaylen’s band concert, the girls’ Field Day and Mother’s Day, which was this past weekend. But that requires a few hours, some silence and some coffee ^_^.

For now, I have to update on my very frugal, very successful shopping spree. Mom gave me cash as a gift for Mother’s Day and, as Mom’s usually do, I put it towards bills initially, heh.

I heard there was a sale going on at Old Navy so, since I wanted a navy blue cardigan (I recently realized I have tons of navy blue clothes O_o), I decided to stop by Wednesday after work to check it out.

I had some rewards coupons and after the sale prices I ended up paying $16 for a blouse, some sweat pants and 2 cardigans!

A super cute store opened on Main St. a while back called Vintage on Main and we had a Cash Mob at work, where we invite the community to take $20 cash to shop at a local business. How awesome is it that we can shop with permission during work ours hehe.

They had such great prices and everything was so whimsical and cute.

I found a black chiffon blouse there with gold dots and an antique-bronze owl necklace. Total cost: $9!

I went back to Old Navy today after work and found a few more things :).

2nd Old Navy Haul

A tee, a blouse, a cropped navy blue cardi, jeans and olive corduroy skinny pants for $23! The olive pants were ridiculously priced for $1.37! I’m already on Pinterest getting outfit ideas :P.

The even more amazing part is I still have some cash left over! I love me a bargain :).

And now I shall get back to Sons of Anarchy. Jorge and I are obsessed with the show. As soon as we do our mom and dad routine and put the girls to bed we turn on Netflix, grab a blanket and cuddle with Mabs and watch our show. It’s taken over my evenings and sabotaged my nightly run. We only have 1 1/2 more seasons to go and I can return to my regularly scheduled life :P.

Mother’s Day 2014

We had a low-key Mother’s Day, and it couldn’t have been any better :).

Jorge and I slept in and then we lazied around.

We picked the kiddos up from their dad’s (since he had them the weekend):

And went to visit Gramma:

After visiting with Gramma we picked up a botana from Espi’s ^_^. Always a hit, hehe.

The girls gave me their gifts they’d made at school:

And Eenan gave me the sketch he made for me :).

On the way home from dropping off my kiddos, Jorge and I stopped for a Pineapple Preparada from this drive-thru that’s all the rage:

We spent the evening watching TV and relaxing. Dina sent me an eCard, which I hadn’t been able to view on my phone. I viewed it at work the next day and got happy-teary :*).

All in a Day’s Work

Haven’t updated in a while, but it’s not because I haven’t had time. It’s mostly due to my passing out by 9pm every night on the sofa for over a month. I had no energy.

Today’s no exception,  but it’s for different reasons. I am quite exhausted, to say the least, heh.

I took the day off to accompany Alaethia on her school field trip to Bentsen State Park and Chuck E. Cheese. I was so relieved and happy that Jenny, Audrey’s mom, would be going, too.

We chit-chatted on the way over there and learned more about each other. She’s the only mom I really talk to, like hold an actual conversation with. I know a few of the other moms because of Girl Scouts, and we’re friendly but not chatty. It’s nice to know Jenny and I have a lot in common!

The kiddos had a pretty good experience at Bentsen, learning about animals and bird-watching, etc. The sun wasn’t scalding and the mosquitoes weren’t bad at all.

I think it’s adorable how the girls take care of each other and are always together :).

Our next stop was Chuck E’s, where we witnessed a miniature girl fight. It was actually the girls’ friend Julissa fighting for Alaethia’s tickets that she thought another little girl stole (which we later found out from Aly that they weren’t hers!).

After assisting the teachers with drink-pouring and pizza-distributing, Jenny and I sat and talked some more while peeking around for the girls. They had ice cream and then we were all on oir way back.

The kiddos had water back in the classroom and then we got to take them early. We got home and picked up Emmos to go to  Ben & Jerry’s. So we did and they picked their flavors and we sat for a while.

I had promised the girls a visit to the park (even though it was hot by then). Had to oblige since they left for the weekend with Mario today.

We got home, they packed their stuff and were picked up. I hung out with Mabby a while and contemplated taking a nap, but I didn’t.

And as sleepy as I was by then I still whipped out a pretty awesome dinner.

AND THENNNN. I still got off my butt afterwards and did 35 minutes on the treadmill. I. Am. Ready. For. Bed!
