1 Month

Darn Internet Explorer. I was just writing about how lazy and unmotivated I’ve felt to blog or be online in general and it goes and dies on me when I’m halfway done with a post. That doesn’t exactly make me want to update more, now does it, Internet Explorer?

Not only have I felt lazy, but having a 1 month old baby doesn’t really give me time to update or read my favorite blogs, either. I’m only doing so now because Mom’s feeding her at the moment.

I guess I’ll rewind to Saturday, when Alaethia turned 1 month old :). We had a horrible night that night and the morning wasn’t any better. It was awful and I’ll never forget it. The only thing that made it better was hearing the little, high-pitched tired wail she gives when she’s tired of crying. It’s the cutest sound ever, and no matter how sleepy and frustrated I am from lack of sleep it always makes Mario and I laugh.

We luckily got to sleep in a little late once all the drama was over, since it was Saturday after all, and Mario had gotten the day off for the funeral. We got up around 11am and I took a shower while Mario rushed to JC Penny to buy a new black dress-shirt and belt. I ironed everything, left my hair curly since I didn’t have time to flat-iron it, and once Mario was done we left with Noelia to the funeral home. I was going to take Alaethia with me, but since it was already in the high 80s by noon I figured I’d leave her with Mom and the boys.

We didn’t make it to Tia Alicia’s final viewing but at least we made it extra early for the Mass. It was so depressing and sad, as funerals usually are, but Mario at least got to see relatives he hadn’t seen at all while they’ve been here. The procession made its way to the cemetary and we stayed briefly since it was too hot for the rest of the kiddos.

We came home and Mario and Noelia went to Star’s and ordered for everyone. We ate and then went to Tio Tavo and Tia Gloria’s house, where all the relatives were meeting. We chatted with everyone and I was complimented several times how nice I looked for Alaethia being one month old. Most, like Lisa, Tia Aurora and the group that was sitting at the kitchen table with Jennifer said it didn’t even look like I just had a baby. It’s nice to get compliments like that, especially since I was already starting to feel flubbery. I get no time to exercise and I haven’t exactly been watching what I eat so I need to get on the ball. I’ve only got 3 months till I have to pick out my Matron of Honor dress for Noelia and Andy’s wedding. I don’t want to look like a badly-packed sausage :(.

Mario was planning to stay behind with Jorge and Annie for a while longer but I needed to leave since I was already late to Ricci’s party. I gathered the kiddos and picked Mom up when I get a call from him that he’s on his way and he’ll be accompanying us. Awesome! I didn’t expect him to go at all.

I’m so glad he went, since Ricci lives pretty far and I can’t see down that road at night since I’m still adjusting to these darn glasses. We arrive and there’s already people there. Ricci brings us probably the best Frijoles a la Charra (aside from Taqueria El Molcajete) that I’ve ever eaten. They had little chunks of bacon, or fat, whatever you want to call it LOL. She served us huge plates of food and the kids had a blast running around the house looking at the goats, chickens, turkey, piglets, cows and whatever other animals were behind the house. Alaethia was an angel the whole time we were there and only fussed for a few seconds while I prepared her bottle when it was time for her to eat.

Rachelle looked like a little princess in her dress. I can’t believe I only haven’t seen her in a little under a year and she’s grown so much! After all the kids had broken the piñata, gotten candy bags and had cake the boys needed to go to the bathroom so I took them. When we came out all hell had broken loose. Goyo’s sister had picked up Kylie, Ricci’s 6 month old daughter with Goyo, because she was sick and they were going to either take her to the doctor or buy her medicines. Well, it had been hours so Ricci was getting worried and called to see what was going on. Apparently Goyo was saying he wasn’t going to take her back so of course Ricci was livid. She was still distraught when we were leaving so I wished her the best, but he did end up returning her and she was fine. Grr. They do that crap just to see how much drama they can stir up. To see how pissed or scared they can make Ricci.

We got home and Mario spent some time with Jorge before he left in the morning. I put the kiddos to bed and we decided to watch Friends with Money when he came back inside. I don’t like how the movie ended (I hate cliffhangers. I need to know exactly what happens!), but it was a great movie overall. There was a part in the movie where a couple are writing a book together and I tell Mario, “You know, it’s silly, but…nah, nevermind.” He pauses the movie and asks, “No, tell me. What?” I prop myself up with my elbow and face him and say, “I’ve always wanted to write a book. Or a story, doesn’t matter. I’ve got some ideas, but I’m not exactly very eloquent with words. I wouldn’t know how to start or how to make the story flow, y’know what I mean?”

He says, “That’s a great idea, Babe. I never knew that. I think you should. If anything, I could help you. What are some ideas.”

So I tell him of two I’ve had for years and he says they’re both good, although one sounds like something too commonly written about. I told him I’d like to write maybe an autobiography, or a story about our lives and he says, “I’ve always thought you’d do that.” Aww. He’s so supportive I could smooch him. I did, actually. On the forehead.

Sunday night with Alaethia was a little better and we got to sleep in late again. I woke up to an empty house: Eenan was at Mary’s and Jaylen and Mario had gone to McDonald’s for breakfast. When they got back we got ready to leave to town.

We went to Target where the boys took forever picking out a toy each, Mario got something for his Boost phone, we went to Circuit City to buy DVD+Rs and then went to get some meat to Bar-b-q.

We got home and Mario got the fire started while Mom and I went to Dollar General for some chips and salsa. It was such a nice day out for a bar-b-q, warm and breezy.

I think I spent most of Monday trying to clean and organize. I also cleaned the DVDs off my computer. I had, like, 30 movies on there, 15 on each harddrive and my harddrives were full. I braved it and started recording them and it actually worked! It didn’t shut down once in the two days it took me to get them all recorded. I wonder what the heck the problem was before then? The kids have been playing games online and the computer’s been fine, when before it would shut down after 10 minutes of game play. *shrug*

After both the kids had come home from school on Tuesday and had gotten their homework done, John and I left the kids with Mom while we made a quick stop at the tile store to buy some 1 inch tiles I need for the bathroom. Well, it was supposed to be a quick stop. We went to Ferro Block where I found some cute clear frosty tiles. When I asked about them they told me they had no 1 inch tiles at all and those frosted ones I liked? They weren’t working with that company anymore. Great.

We passed by Tile City, which was closed and then went to Lowe’s. They had nothing. I called to Home Depot so we wouldn’t have to make a trip there and they had nothing as well. We tried Michael’s last, where they had some 1 inch tiles but they were dark blue and I want something light. I considered getting the 1 inch mosaic tiles but I figured it wouldn’t be a good idea since the area gets really wet all the time and I don’t know if the mosaics would be good for the bathroom. I’ll have to read up on it. Needless to say, I was really disappointed and wasted 2 hours of my life. And gas, too. Thankfully, I got home with enough time to make dinner and bathe the boys.

Off topic: My God. I’m watching Maury and holy cow! New York’s (Flavor of Love, I Love New York) done bought herself some new boobies O_O. Those things did not look like that on her show!

Anyway, I had my 1 month postpartum check-up yesterday. I’m still at 119 lbs., got the OK to get on birth control, got the OK to be intimate with the hubs (woo hoo!), and got some new meds prescribed; new cold medicine and antibiotics for the horrible toothache my darn wisdom tooth’s brought on. I NEED to go get them all ripped out, even if I have to go to Mexico again :(.

I took Alaethia in, too, since she ended up catching my cold. She now weighs 8 lbs. 11 oz. and is 20 1/2 inches long–she grew half an inch since the last time, aww. Laura, our nurse, said she’s gonna be little like her mom LOL.

We got our prescriptions and headed to H-E-B. I refused to go back to the Saenz Pharmacy since they take about an hour to fill 1 darn prescription. I take the prescriptions to the pharmacy and they tell me it’s a ONE HOUR WAIT. Darnit. Mom and I both needed to get a few groceries anyway, so we shopped around while we waited for the medications. Jaylen, whom I’ve been having a bit of trouble with lately, was an absolute horror the whole time we were there so that helped us waste some time, too. After an hour of walking around we paid and went back to the pharmacy. They weren’t ready. They needed another 20 minutes. Grr. I sit there, waiting, looking deranged since Jaylen was still having his fits in the cart. After a while though, he kept himself busy with a little book he found and we waited some more. We waited for ANOTHER HOUR and when the guy calls me over he says one of mine wasn’t available. I could have slugged him. It took that long to get two prescriptions filled. I understand that they need to count and make sure everything’s right, but my God, two hours?!

We’re on our way home and I get a call from Noelia around 2:30. She says our door was wide open and that she closed it for us! I’m so glad she was home–who knows if some stranger would have, for some reason, come around my apartment and seen the door open! I don’t know how long it was open though, so I could imagine the flies and bugs that probably flew in, ick.

I eat a quick lunch because I was starving, feed Alaethia and then Mom stayed with the kids while I picked up Eenan and Brandon. While I was waiting for them I get a call from Ricci. She says she’d stopped by to see me but we weren’t home and that my door was wide open. This was around 1:30! She says she used my bathroom, and I go on and on expressing how worried I was about how long the door’d been open. I ask her how she’s doing and my heart sinks when I hear her sobbing. She’d stopped by her Grandmother’s after she’d left my house and they all treated her badly. They laughed at her. She said she needed to talk but she was on her neighbor’s phone since hers is still not working so I offered to go over.

I made sure Eenan did his homework because he’d forgotten it the previous day. He’d forgotten it 3 times last 6 weeks and finally got his act together when it came to his compositions and made All A Honor Roll again, yay :). We couldn’t find Brushka’s kittens all morning and while I was talking to Mario on the phone I swore I heard a meow. I looked in the closet in the living room but found nothing. A few minutes later I heard another meow so I reached my arm as far back into the closet as I could and felt my fingers brush something soft. I grab it, and it’s a gray kitten LOL. Brushka must have taken the opportunity to bring them all in while the door was open! All of the kittens were in there. The last one I got out was the white one, the one who’s father is most definitely Artemis. He’s fluffy and looks like a huge bear LOL.

I packed Alaethia’s things up and we get ready to leave. The boys, of course, didn’t want to go with me and I figured if I wanted to have a quiet talk I should leave them with Mom. Mom tells me to have a good time and drive safely.

I get to Ricci’s and we have a good, long talk. She gives me more of a backstory on everything that happened between her and Goyo and goes into detail about what happened at her Grandma’s. She’s upset and crying and asks, “Why are they like that? Why do they have to be that way?” and I tell her, “There’s just evil people in this world, unfortunately. That’s what they are, Ricci. They don’t care about anyone but themselves. It’s not anything you did.” She realizes that hey, maybe I’m right. Maybe they are just like that. I tell her I want to see her succeed and rub it in all their faces and that she better not ever take that dumbass back. I hope she can get the job she wants. I hope she can better her life for her and her girls. And I hope, that no matter what happens between Goyo and Ricci’s aunt (the one he left her for), no matter if he goes crawling back that she refuses to take him back. He’s the damn reason she changed last year. He’s the reason I had to be the one worried about her missing school and driving her around–because he could have given two shits about all that.

I got home and we had a quick dinner of sandwiches. Mom had already set the shower for the boys so they were nice and clean by the time I got home. Mario got home and watched the George Lopez comedy thing after the boys were in bed. Alaethia had gone to sleep too, so we found it the perfect opportunity to spend some alone time together ;). I was so giddy–I felt like a teenager all over again LOL.

As for today, I’m feeling really…blah. I had about four hours sleep last night due to Alaethia’s screaming. I did get her to sleep in the crib, but it was for a very short hour and a half =\. I was too exhausted the rest of the night to bother putting her in it. I swear it’s like she’s 5 months old already. She spends all day awake and still doesn’t sleep for long at night. How do other mothers do it?! I’ve had what seems like 5 month old newborns with all my kids!

I’ve felt the same laziness with my Spring Cleaning (and basic, every day cleaning) as I’ve had with blogging. I’ve completely lost the motiviation to continue with my decorating and organizing. I have all these ideas, all these things I want to do and I’ve done zip since Monday. I went through most of the stuff in my closet and although I did get rid of a lot of stuff, all the stuff I decided to keep that goes on shelves is strewn all over my bedroom floor. As much as I don’t want to, I need to get to that today. When Ricci’d told me she came in to use the bathroom I instantly felt so embarrassed–I have clean laundry that needs to be put away draped all over the back of the futon >_<. Other than that, the house is clean, but still, clothes everywhere makes any place look messy. I should eat some lunch since I have to pick Eenan up from school in a bit. See how lazy I feel? I don't even want to make myself anything!

Trying to Stay Awake

I can’t believe I’m typing that. I’m trying to STAY AWAKE, can you believe it? I stupidly forgot to set the dryer to dry so now I’m stuck waiting for the white clothes to finish drying and then I have to put the jeans in to dry. Grr.

Mario got home from accompanying his mom to pick up his Dad a few minutes ago and now he went to pick up some Sprites from Aziz. I need to take a shower before Alaethia wakes up screaming. She’s been colicky all day, poor thing. She’s spent more time awake today than she has asleep, so hopefully we’ll both get some good sleep tonight. I’ve been saving the gas drops for tonight.

I did nothing today, just like I’d planned. Well, except for when I drove John to work to check what time he goes in tomorrow. Other than that I cleaned the kitchen table (although now that the kids have played and eaten there, you would never be able to tell), did laundry, cooked meals, of course; read and spent some time online. Then I accompanied Mary to Wal-mart, along with all my kiddos. Mary’d promised them a toy and they never forget so she figured we should go now. I got two boxes to organize my closet and I’m regretting not getting the rest of them. They were on clearance for $2 each! And I didn’t even pay for them; Mary got them for me since I bought Big Mario some staples he needed yesterday. Woo!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about where I want to live when we’re ready to build our house. At first I wanted to live in McAllen, but I know housing over there is much more expensive, especially where I want to live. Then I thought Mission, but I do not like the Mission school district. Mario’s mentioned a few times that he wouldn’t mind living where we do now and I always wrinkled my nose at the idea. Lately, though, I’ve actually been considering it. We’d be close to our parents, we wouldn’t have to pull the kids out of school and away from their friends (I, personally, was never happy after I moved away from McAllen, thus bringing on my trust issues), housing is much cheaper over here and even better: the economy is sure to boom after Wal-mart is built in Peñitas. I hate having to drive 15 minutes just to go to Wal-Mart or Target. Having something nearby will be great. I know for sure Mario will still have to commute to work every day and I probably won’t find a job around here, but I can actually say I don’t mind living here anymore.

Thinking about all this and all the new stores and shops that are being built around here got me thinking about the Sharyland Shopping Center and I went searching for the site plans to see what else will be built. I knew for sure they were building a Ross (um, YAY) and a TJ Maxx (which I’ve never shopped at, but I hear it’s cool). I found this. I can’t tell you how excited I am about all these new, much closer stores! And there’s still 6 more buildings that are available, so you can bet I’ll be checking this thing out every day!

I didn’t find anything on the new Wal-Mart, but I read on the Mission city forum that the shopping center over there’s going to be like the one in Palmhurst, so that’s pretty damn cool. I hope they build a Wendy’s over here, too!

Okay, Mario’s home now. Time to shower!

Oh, Baby

Just finished adding pictures to my previous post. Took me long enough, right? There’s a new Pixydust first: I posted a pic of myself after bawling my eyes out. Not too attractive, so be nice, okay? 😛

I guess I can say I jinxed myself after that post. I wished that Alaethia would let me sleep that night and nope, she didn’t. She cried her little eyes out till 3:30am and I needed to be up at 6:30 to get the boys ready for school. It was awful. I bawled right along with her; I was that exhausted. I’m more than positive her insomnia was brought on by colic. At first I thought it was because she slept a lot during the day but I figured it was a tummy ache since she’d ball her little legs up to her torso whenever she’d pass gas. Poor thing.

Mario couldn’t sleep through her cries after a while, so around 1:30 or 2 he woke up and stayed up with us trying to console Alaethia. We both sort of just sat there, half-awake taking turns trying to make her relax. Finally, after 3 bottles, lots of burping and back and tummy massages, she fells asleep with the aid of a pacifier at 3:30. Hallelujah. I seriously thought I was going to be awake all night.

I was so tired I contemplated keeping the boys home from school, but I thought better of it and forced myself awake and got them ready. The last time they stayed home they fought all day long and I couldn’t get sleep anyway (not that I kept them home to get sleep; it was the time they tricked Mario into believing they were sick!).

It would have been great to come back home and sleep till I had to pick Jaylen up, but Mario and I’d decided the night before that I’d drop him off to make running our errands easier in the afternoon since he had to work and didn’t want to drive all the way back home. I made myself some coffee and he drove over there and I drove myself back home. I had the music blaring and the windows down so I could feel cold and awake.

I got to sleep for an hour and a half with Alaethia when I got back. Mom had watched her for me while I’d been gone. I woke up feeling much better but I was still much more tired than usual. I picked Jaylen up and when we got back Big Mario was here so I asked him to do me the favor of getting Eenan’s bunk mattress down for me. I was going to return the crappy thing since it was rock hard and I was more than positive they’d given me a box spring instead of an actual mattress. I’d called the store before and spoke to a woman who told me they’d exchange it with no problem. I told her it didn’t have the plastic blue packaging it came in and if that was fine and she said yes, to go ahead and take it in and to ask for Andres. Cool.

Mario calls me to drive to his work and deposit his paycheck. Mom, Jaylen, Alaethia and I all drive over there. He comes over to the car and he says he hasn’t been doing any work for the past hour and would love to go home already. He goes up to Albert and I see Albert give Mario a hug, which I’m assuming is because, yay! He’s letting him come home. They both come up to the car and open the door on Alaethia’s side. Albert says, “I’m just congratulating him on the baby again.” ‘Crap’, I think. I totally thought he was going to let him go. I see Mario go back into the store so we drive away.

He calls me when I reach the stop sign and says, “Where are you?”

I reply, “Here at the stop sign.”

“Well, can you come back for me?”

I couldn’t stop laughing. Turns out Albert did let him leave and he was clocking out when he’d gone back into the store LOL.

We go deposit at the bank and then to pick up my glasses at EyeEar. I’ve developed astigmatism in my left eye, which really sucks. My glasses are all funky now and it felt like my left eye was swimming around in my socket while the right one was nice and focused. I kept taking huge steps because it felt like I was about to land on my face whenever I moved. Mario, who’s suffered from astigmatism in both eyes since childhood, says it takes about a week to get used to them. Great. At least my Transitions lenses are sexy.

Next we went to a cell phone store Mario’d been talking about. My Valentine’s Day present to him was going to be a new Boost phone, since all the guys at work have one and they all decided to get one. I still don’t think it’s a great gift, but that’s what he wanted.

He’s satisfied with how much it cost and was like a kid with a new toy; he couldn’t stop talking about how awesome it was and was so excited to start getting all his co-workers’/friends’ numbers.

I hadn’t eaten breakfast, just drank coffee, so we decided to have lunch at Taqueria El Molcajete, which is a Mexican restaurant off the Frontage road in Mission that makes their food just like they make it in Mexico. It’s genuine Mexican food and it’s delicious. I have some Frijoles a la Charra, half a baked potato with the works that I shared with Mario and half an order (3 small tacos) of fajita tacos, with cilantro, onions, avocado and lime. To drink, I had an aqua de Jamaica. I’m drooling just thinking about it!

We rushed home to pick up Eenan and after we’d gotten the kids home we stuffed the mattress in the truck, left the kiddos with Mom and hurried to the Furniture Factory Warehouse to exchange the mattress.

We get there and look for the manager, which is who we’re directed to. I get a call from John, so I go outside to answer. The boys are wreaking havoc and Mother can’t control them. John puts them on the phone and I get a headache hearing them try and explain through tears and screams what one did to the other. Pillows. Throw pillows on the couch are what caused the problem. I tell them to stay away from eachother and designate each of them into separate rooms. Just as I’m hanging up, Mario’s storming out of the store with a business card in one hand and his cell phone in the other. I ask him what’s wrong and he says the guy’s being a ‘dick’.

Apparently he’s not allowing Mario to make the exchange, even though he explained to him that I spoke to one of the female employees the night before and she said to bring everything in. I’m so fired up from just dealing with screaming children that I yell, “OH HELL NO,” and march back in to the store.

I tell the guy how I spoke to the woman and we went all the way over there to make the exchange and it was going to happen. I let him know how shitty the so-called mattress is and how could they sell something so crappy and uncomfortable?! He says, “That’s why I showed them to you that day. It’s the same thing as the ones you saw in the showroom.” I tell him, “Oh, no they’re not. The ones out there are NOT as rock-hard as the one you sold me. All we want to do is exchange it. We’ll pay the difference on a new mattress. I was told it could be done and that’s what I expect.” His face is flushed and probably humiliated because all the people in the store are staring at us by now. He agrees to ‘help us out this one time’ and we pick a mattress and voila, problem solved. I hate arrogant asswipes like that. Mario was pretty pissed that he was giving him such a hard time.

When they’re putting the old, nasty mattress into the warehouse, the nice guy who was helping us out, Andres, says that the mattress has a hole. A what? We don’t know how it got there since Eenan didn’t even sleep on the damn, hard thing. He tells Mario it’s fine, but that if the boss had seen it he definitely wouldn’t exchange it. He gives us the OK to go and we go. Mario gets into the car and he’s like, “Drive! Get out of here before they change their minds!” LOL It’s safe to say I’ll never buy anything from there again. I only went there in the first place because Willie’s Appliance and Furniture never answered when I was calling around for prices.

We rush home, get the mattress down and stuff everyone in the truck. We finally, after God knows how long, made plans to go to a movie. Mario wanted to watch Ghost Rider and although I wasn’t too keen on watching it, agreed and so did the boys. We met Mary there and got all our junk food. I had Alaethia in my lap and I’m so glad to say she’s a great baby even at the movies. She didn’t fuss once and when she got hungry she didn’t even scream; she just made her little lip-smacking noises to cue that she’s hungry. (I haven’t mentioned how ADORABLE it sounds when she does that. First she smacks her little lips together and if I haven’t gotten the point by then she starts to eat her hands LOL.)

Jaylen was so cute. He loved the movie. He was on the edge of his seat during the suspenseful parts and when something exciting happened, he’d clap :P. He kept saying things like, “Oh, yeah!” and “That was awesome!” At the end of the movie he said, “Mom, can you buy me this movie?” and then, “That part (which sounds like ‘paht’) almost made me cwy,” during the happy ending (or, sort-of happy ending O_o).

Eenan was a little jumpy but enjoyed the movie anyway. When the movie was over the boys went to the bathroom first, then Mario held Alaethia while I went. When I came out of the restroom Eenan’s wearing Alaethia’s diaper bag around his neck and says, “Look, Mom, I’ve got an udder!” then he points to the bottle on each side of the bag and says, “And two teats!” Where he gets that stuff from, I have no idea. The whole hallway was laughing LOL.

I feared that last night would be a repetition of the night before, but thankfully Alaethia was only up till 1:30 (even though it felt like it was much later). I gave her some of her gas drops in her bottle that Dr. C. had prescribed for her and it worked like a charm! She slept from 1:30 to 5:30 and then from 6 to 9! Needless to say, I felt much more refreshed this morning than I did Friday morning.

She spent a lot of time awake this morning and this evening, so hopefully I’ll get some rest tonight (I won’t count my chickens, though!)

I finally did what I’d been wanting to do for at least a month: I went through my closet and got rid of at least 20 screen print tees that I don’t wear anymore, sorted through my PJs and sleep shirts and moved everything into the chest of drawers where Mario’s clothes are to eliminate the huge one that my clothes used to be in. I still have the last drawer to go through; that one has some of Mario’s button-up shirts and slacks. Once I have those hung up we can get rid of the huge drawers, move the one with our clothes in front of the bed and put the TV on it and then get Alaethia this cute chest of drawers I saw at K-Mart for her clothes. I also put all my maternity clothes away, which I’m highly considering selling through here, my website. I was going to put them away, but I don’t know when or if I’ll ever use them again, so I figured I could sell them to someone who’d need them soon.

John helped me load all the bags and the huge box that was taking up space into the truck, we got Alaethia’s stuff ready and Mom stayed with the boys while we went to the storage unit to drop all the stuff off. I had to feed Alaethia while we were there, so it took a little longer than we expected.

Next stop was Target, where I decided to cave and buy the car bottle warmer since Alaethia refuses to drink a bottle even if it’s room temperature. Can’t blame her, I’d want warm milk, too.

I had John scold me each time I wanted to buy something I didn’t need and he did a good job of it. I treated myself to some Starbucks, which I didn’t actually spend anything on since Mary’d given me a $5 gift card. Yay!

We went to the mall next, where John was gong to buy Alaethia the Dead Animals blanket he’d been wanting to get her. It’s much more adorable than it sounds, trust me! Too bad they completely sold out within two days and they have no idea when they’ll receive more. Grr.

We looked around a bit more and left to Circle K to pick up some snacks to drop off for Mario, just because. It was nice seeing him for those few minutes, even though he poked at my belly roll and kept smushing my arm fat, which for some reason he loves to do. *hiss*

We were starving so we stopped at Taco Bell to get some food. John treated me and when we got to Wal-Mart I bought him toilet paper LOL. Fair trade.

It took much longer there than we’d anticipated since we had to eat first, then Alaethia needed to be fed and changed. Then she decided to poop mid-diaper change and then peed all over herself when I was about to swap out the dirty diaper for the new one. Thank God I always carry a change of clothes for her. I wrapped her up in her blanket and we went into the store.

Took forever to get everything we needed since I was shopping for myself, John was shopping for himself and we had to buy stuff for Mom, too. At around 7pm, we were done, finally. Mario called as we were getting in line at the register that he was on his way home. We’re finally on the road at 7:45 and when we’re leaving Mission and getting into Palmview, we notice that traffic’s suddenly come to a halt and there’s a person running across the expressway. I had about 2 seconds to come to a complete stop from 65 MPH; thank God the truck in front of me swerved towards the shoulder or else I would have slammed right into him. I kept praying that the people behind us would stop on time, too. I was so worried about Alaethia, who would feel the impact first if, God forbid, we got hit. We were fine and so was everyone else, even though there were two crashed cars on one side of us and two more in the ditch in the median. Traffic started up again about a minute later.

I think I panicked and tensed up, because as soon as I started driving again my back got this throbbing, shooting pain. I was shaking so hard I couldn’t even hold the wheel correctly. John was getting a bit worried and kept telling me to park on the side of the road to calm down, but I got a grip on myself after a while and kept driving. I was so terrified though, that I couldn’t get my feet to press the gas to go any faster than 60 MPH, which is not normal for me LOL. My back still sort of hurts, especially around the spot where I got the epidural, but I’m just so glad we’re alive. That’s one of the main reasons I try my hardest not to drive at night.

Ok. It’s bed time. Wish me luck. Mario’s out somewhere because he threw a fit for some reason or another but I’m going to bed whether I’ve seen him or not. Hopefully he’ll get home around the time Alaethia wakes up for a bottle and I’ll make him prepare it for her, buahaha.
