Out of the House

It’s been a few days since I’ve blogged, as usual. I hate when I do this, especially when interesting things happen like they did the past few days and then I can’t remember anything. Damn this Pregnancy Amnesia.

We got Jaylen out of school half an hour early (right before lunch, which is his last “class”) so we could eat lunch with both of them in the cafeteria since Eenan had been wanting us to do that since school began. We came back home to waste time, then went to Burger King to get our meals and went to the cafeteria to meet Eenan. We were 10 minutes late, thanks to the new girls at the drive-thru window, and I was sure Eenan was freaking out because we never got there. He notices us right away and screams, “Mom! Dad!” and runs towards us with his tray full of untouched pizza. We sit at the Parent Table and he says, “I thought you weren’t coming!” We ate, finished, and threw our stuff out. Since it was the last day of the Six Weeks and they didn’t have any tests or anything new to do, we signed Eenan out and brought him with us. We had tons of stuff to do, like pay our car note, and pay all our other bills (which we’d brilliantly thought to save money for the last time Mario got paid and thankfully most get paid online). One of the only bills we have to pay at the store is our Personal Plan from JC Penny. We made the payment and I noticed they were having a huge sale on pants and jackets, so we checked them out. Both my boys had a growth spurt after we bought them jeans for school, so although we can pass Eenan’s over to Jaylen, Eenan is left without. We found some cute green Camo ones and some dark jeans. They’ve both been so into Camouflage lately. I also can’t help but buy them the same clothes all the darn time. I don’t do it on purpose, but if I find a deal I’ll get them the same thing, in their sizes, of course. To tell you the truth, almost all the clothes they own are matching. And yes, I admit it; I dress them alike. They haven’t complained about it yet, heh.

We checked out the jackets and coats and they were still super expensive for being 50% off and of course the ones we liked were out of Eenan’s size. Jaylen still has his (reversible) jacket from last year but Eenan lost his good jacket this year so he absolutely needed one. We decided to give up and went to Target, where we bought Cars and Walmart to get pool cues and chalks.

My dad-in-law acquired a FREE 9 ft. pool table from a friend the day before. It didn’t have anything at all–no balls, triangle, cues, nothing–but hey, it was a free table and blue! Mario had borrowed $5 from his dad the day before and he said as payment he’d buy all the billiards supplies. I love pool. I admit, I’m the crappiest pool player, but I still love it.

We didn’t find the triangle at Wal-Mart, so we decided to check the other one later. Mario had spoken to Jorge earlier in the day and he said he had a whole set of pool balls and he could have them. Cool. Free balls!

We all got our hair cut after that at Mario’s friend, Manny’s wife’s salon. The kids and Mario desperately needed cuts and Mayra did a great job on them. Jaylen left his a little long because he wanted a Faux Hawk, but he’s yet to let me smush gel in his hair =\.

I got a haircut too, since the last one I got about a month ago was a total hack job. The lady supposedly cut my hair so it’ll look nice when it’s curly, but she failed to tell me she left it totally uneven and you could tell when it was flat ironed. I just had Mayra cut it straight across with whisps at the front. Lovin’ it.

We took showers when we got home, then went to Jorge’s, who got a pool table for pretty cheap as well. Maggie was working, so I spent a few hours watching the guys just play pool, which I didn’t mind since I had a bag of Fritos, bean dip and a bottle of Nestea :). Jaylen went along with us, but fell asleep as soon as we got there. He woke up later though and played with Jorgie and Justin. Eenan was spending the night at Mary’s, as usual, so he didn’t go.

I had a good time. I hadn’t seen Maggie in forever and it was nice catching up. They also played this trick on Mario with some online Ouija board and he totally bought it, my poor Love LOL. Maggie had already told me about it and told me not to say anything. It was almost painful watching Mario get all excited and freaked out about it :P.

I don’t remember much from Saturday morning. I started paying all our bills online sometime around 3pm, which was also around the time Big Mario arrived from the ranch with a BABY Texas Spiny Swift, just like Liz.

I decided to sign up for an online Home Depot account. I figured since we didn’t have to make the payment till the 19th, I’d just set it up and pay it later so I could leave to town before it got too late. Well, I sign up and for some reason it moves my payment date from the 19th to the 12th, which is the next day and is a Sunday! Payments don’t go through on Sunday, so I got all my junk together, John went with me while Mom watched the boys and we left to town.

I paid Home Depot first and then we went to Target. I needed to get some Play-Doh stuff and Magna Doodles that were on sale for the boys for Christmas. The deals were too goo to pass up and it was the last day they were on sale. I also got Mario a t-shirt with a squirrel in front holding up two nuts and under it it says, “Bigger than Yours”. He loves shirts like that :).

We went to Ross next, where John wanted to strangle me because he loathes Ross, but I wanted to check if they had any nice jackets for less than $30. I found a few in Eenan’s size, and then happened upon a black/gray/white Camo one in the size I needed and it was only $11.99! We checked it out, because you never know with Ross, and it was fine so we got in line, which was surprisingly not 100 ft. long like it usually is. We hurried out of there and got some crickets for our lizards at Pet Smart and hurried home.

We were having a get-together for Mario’s birthday at Chris’ that night, so Chris came over to pick up some cash to buy the stuff we’d need that night. Mario got out of work, came home and we went over to Chris’. Eenan, once again, didn’t go because he was spending the night at Mary’s. That boy doesn’t go anywhere with us unless he’s threatened.

It was nice and chilly that night. The girls and children were inside the house while the men chit-chatted outside. It was only Nancy and Jorge’s wife (I, for the life of me, can’t remember her name right now!) and me and we had a pretty good time talking about pregnancies, weight gain/loss, our husbands and other girl stuff. We didn’t leave till around 1am that night so I was super sleepy. It didn’t even feel like it was that late though since I’m sleepy all the time now!

The Circus That is My Life

I missed all of Ugly Betty tonight due to a splinter stuck in Jaylen’s foot. These boys never listen to me. “Put your shoes on before going outside!” I say. But do they? No.

Jaylen was in a hurry to run outside this afternoon while Bimpa (my dad-in-law) was home for lunch. Totally ignored me when I yelled for him to put his slippers on, at least. He must have been running around on the deck and got a huge splinter in his foot. He told me about it around 6:30. Spent half an hour carefully digging around the splinter with a (sterilized) needle; tweezers were not helping. When he’d had enough he scooted to the middle of my bed, where I couldn’t reach him since I was sitting on the floor, and held his leg to his chest and cried. I told him I was only going to help him right then and there, and if he didn’t let me take it out I was going back to the living room.

He wailed, “But I don’t want it to bleed! It’s alweady wed (red)!!”

“Would you rather it be red, or black because your foot’s going to fall off?” Nothing like a little motivation.

He chose for his foot to turn black so I left him alone. I’d put Eenan in the bathroom to take a shower. Jaylen followed me to the living room and sat on the couch crying and yelled, dramatically, “I don’t want my leg to fall off! I want two legs! I WANT TWO LEGS!!”

Eenan got out of the shower and I stuck Jaylen in. I was hoping the water would soften up his skin to make digging the splinter out easier, and it did. It still took an additional 20 minutes to get him to lay still long enough to let me poke it out. He yelled, “God, OH GOD, help me! Please God, help meeee!” over and over again and when it looked like he was about to pass out I gave him a break. He gets a really sad look on his face and says, “I wish I was still in your tummy!”

I convinced him to let me give it one more try and sure enough the darn splinter came out…in three pieces. I hope they (I say they because Eenan was as terrified as Jaylen was) learned their lesson and listen to me when I tell them to put shoes on!

A few entries ago I mentioned that my darn toilet was giving us problems (and shortly after my stove almost caught fire). Well, it got much worse last night.

Eenan had been eating Hot Tamales candies and it never fails that they either make him throw up or give him diarreah. It hadn’t happened in a long time so when he asked for a little box of them I let him have it. Big mistake. He got diarreah within 10 minutes of eating them. The toilet worked fine until I was getting ready for bed around 10pm.

I’d asked Mario to fix it earlier but he ended up falling asleep on the couch while watching TV. I peed and what happens? All the day’s, um, excrements started flowing back up to the surface. It was about half an inch away from the top of the darn bowl. Plunging didn’t work at all. I freaked out (I’d barely mopped the day before for Pete’s sake!) and yelled at Mario to get up and do something. He told me he’d check it on Friday (!) and didn’t budge off the couch. I went Drama-Queen on him and started muttering how I couldn’t live under these conditions and how was I supposed to pee at night and what if Eenan had to throw up because of the candies? The stuff would splash up into his face!

I’m so bothered by this I start sobbing, look for a remedy on the internet with no luck and just decide to go to bed. I hadn’t seen Mario get off the couch and go to our room. I see him lay some jeans and a t-shirt down on the bed and I roll my neck at him and say, “OH! You can’t fix the toilet but you can go out for a drive?”

He growls, “No stupid. I’m going to Wal-Mart to fix your damn toilet.”

“Oh,” I said, feeling like an asshole, “Good.”

I’d fallen asleep and woke up around 10:40 and he was back with some thing to fix the toilet. I go back to bed and wake up at 12 something to Alaethia pushing on my bladder. I can see the light on so I stop in the hallway and realize Mario and Chris are both there working on the toilet. I felt so embarrassed because 1) My bitching was not only bothering Mario, I was inconveniencing Chris, too and 2) Chris was seeing our poop soup, eeww!

As much as I needed to go pee, I tip-toed back to my room and fell asleep again. I woke up at 1am with my bladder feeling like it would explode. I sneak my head around the hallway and Mario and Chris are gone. I inspect the toilet and it’s clean and the water’s clear and low where it’s supposed to be. As guilty as I felt I worked up the courage to call Mario and ask him if the toilet was working. To my relief he doesn’t sound mad at all and says, “You didn’t read the letter I left you?” I go to the kitchen table and read the note, which says the toilet’s fixed, cleaned with Clorox spray and that I owe Chris $70, plus parts. That last part was a joke, thank God!

He’d also written on the note that since he was up at 1am already that they may as well have some beers. He didn’t end up getting back till 4am! He had to get up at 8:00 to be at work by 9am. Since I still felt super guilty I didn’t end up taking my nap after he left. I figured he suffered because of me (although he could have gone to bed as soon as he was done!) I’d suffer, too.

John treated me to Whataburger since he didn’t work and later on after picking Jaylen up from school we all went to visit Gramma, Target and Game Stop so John could buy some game he wanted. While we were there I saw so many games the kids like for really cheap. They’re used of course but I don’t think they’d care. We’ve gotten them used movies and games as a last resort when we haven’t been able to find them anywhere else new. Tomorrow is the beginning of our Christmas shopping. I’m so grateful (to the hubby, of course) that we’ll get to Christmas shop early this year :). Still, I don’t think it’ll keep us from doing last minute, Christmas Eve shopping like we do every year though O_o.

Sleepy, need shower, I hear Eenan coughing, goodnight!

Anxious

I have no idea what the heck is wrong with my toilet (lovely way to start an entry, no?). It’s either the water pressure is super low as always or (gulp) one of the children dropped a wash cloth in there and it’s now clogged to hell. It already overflowed all over my soft, light blue bath rug. I’m afraid to pee, which really sucks because I need to pee all the time.

Today was a really low-key kind of day. I didn’t go anywhere today, which is a nice change. I spent most of the day cleaning house which was way overdue, heh. Jason came over with his laptop in tow and connected everything to play Xbox Live with John and the boys. Gave me time to do everything I needed to do without being interrupted.

I wrapped and boxed my breakables that I still had strewn around my bedroom so I can take them to storage. I’ve just realized that it’s November and according to my Last Menstrual Period, I’m 7 months pregnant as of today (Tuesday, if we go by Alaethia’s size). If I recall correctly, every year it seems that once November gets here the new year gets here just as fast. At first it felt like the pregnancy was slithering by, but just today I started getting that panic-y feeling like, ‘Shoot, I need to hurry up and get everything ready!’. Now that Alaethia’s constantly moving around and that her elbows and knees are clearly visible as she moves them across my belly, reality’s set in. I’m going to be the mother of 3 by the end of January!

I need to make a list of all the stuff we need to get. I need to finish organizing our closets. I need to get rid of that darn dresser. We need to put the crib together. I need to go through storage boxes and get all the baby stuff I need out of them, plus unisex stuff like onsies all washed and ready. I’m getting incredibly excited and nervous! And on top of it all, we definitely need to start Christmas shopping! I seriously can’t believe it’s already November!

I have my 28 week doctor’s appointment this Wednesday; let’s hope all is well. I wouldn’t doubt if this little lady already turned (Jaylen turned by 7 months) what with the way she kicks me in the ribs O_o. I’m also looking foward to Tuesday, which is when Mayra will hopefully come over to visit for a while :). This is going to be a great week!

P.S. Desperate Housewives was so awesome tonight. I watched it after spending about an hour outside with Mario while he waited for the fire to successfully start so he could bar-b-q. We had a talk yesterday about how our relationship’s been going lately and we’re doing better than before now, thank goodness. When I came in to watch Desperate Housewives I remembered he likes peanuts with his beer, so I took him some. He calls me from his cellphone and says, “It’s nice how you brought me peanuts. That’s why I’ll never leave you; because of the little things like that.” Aww :).

Anyway, the woman who got killed was totally not who I expected it to be. I thought it would be Edie Britt for some reason. I didn’t watch TV for most of yesterday so it was a surprise when I turned the TV on this afternoon and Doogie Howser’s gay and Sadam Hussein will be hung?! Crazy!
