Catching Up

Thanks to our very late night the night before, we woke up late. Well, I woke up late and woke Mario up late for work again. I didn’t even have the strength to wake up and make Mario breakfast. I slept in with Alaethia till 11:40.

I’d gotten up to pee and John texted that he was at Target and heard a kid yell “Obama!” when he saw him on TV. I think it’s a bit creepy that he has that effect on people. Even Alaethia can spot his voice in a second and yells, “It’s Yobama” LOL.

I asked John if he’d go with me to work. I had to pick up the Constellation Turtle I’d ordered for Alaethia and my W2 form. He said yes, but he was running an errand. Alaethia and I ate leftover meatloaf from the night before. John came over and ate while I showered. Mom came over and offered to watch Alaethia. Even better, because then they’d never let us leave talking to her and I had only an hour to get over there and back and pick the boys up from school.

We went over there and said hello to everyone at the office area and even got to see two of my kiddos, Tony and Manny. We went to Vero’s office and I picked up my stuff and chatted with her for about half an hour. We went to the library before we left but it was empty. As we were leaving I saw Mrs. V. inside the office. We chatted a little bit. She told me the kids missed me *tear*. I said, “Aww, I miss them, too. I miss everyone.” The principal was standing right there when I said that and he said, “See? I told you not to leave!” I laughed it off, but I felt weird LOL.

We rushed out of there because I felt like I was going to pass out from the hot flashes I was having. We went straight to pick up the boys and we got home and got started on homework. Of course I had to take Eenan back to school because he lost a pencil his friend had lent him and he was afraid she wouldn’t talk to him anymore. He’s lucky we only live a few blocks away.

I started cleaning and washed a few things. I tried updating a bit and then went to chill out at Mary’s and gave the boys dinner. Aly and I ate leftovers again (pancakes LOL) but she kept sucking on the pieces and spitting them out. Grr. I was certain she’d eat well since it was something she liked, but nope.

I washed dishes while she played and then she wanted to watch TV, Noggin, of course. I made Mario some dinner and waited for him to get home. I bathed Alaethia, then caught up on my entries some more. Mario got home and he showed me pictures of their latest project. I must say, I was quite impressed. Mario watched TV while I updated some more (gosh, it feels like I’ll never catch up).

The baby’s been moving around like crazy. I feel every little movement. She flings her little limbs all over the place and it hurts sometimes! I can even feel her tiny foot pressed up against the left side of my belly. I press my hand to her foot every chance I get. I think she’s running out of room in there. I get a pain on my lower back and, er, nether regions whenever she starts rolling around.

While I was sitting at the kitchen table typing on my laptop and Mario was on his laptop in the living room, we hear Alaethia in deep conversation with someone. We turn and listen closely. She’s talking to “Pum-bah”, which is Spongebob. She’s talking to him on her princess cell phone. “How are you? You good? I’m good. Thank you for the magic water.” How cute is that? She’s like a sponge herself, this kid! She’s amazing.

The Best Part of Being Home

We had such a tiring, crazy night after weaning Alaethia from her milk sippy that I slipped into sleep after the alarm went off and I woke Mario up late for work. And then she woke up early.

Mario left to work, rushing, poor thing and I made banana pancakes. Alaethia actually ate her pancake. And then she ate lunch, too. I washed dishes after breakfast and lunch (it’s so nice being able to keep up with the dishes now that I’m home). I cleaned up the kitchen table (that thing’s a magnet for crap) and then I got started on sewing the curtains. Man, they’re just valances and it took forever to do. That, or I’m just out of practice.

I took a break and went to my bedroom and started organizing my document drawers. I have TONS of documents to shred, it’s not even funny. I went to pick up the boys from school and went to the ATM to activate my new debit card, since I was supposed to do that since mid-January.

I went to Dollar General to get a few things, which ended up being a lot of things because that’s what happens when the boys go with me. We came home and they had snacks before starting homework.

I finished up the curtain and we visited with Mary a while. I started dinner, took it over to Mary’s, ate and came back. Mario was already sleeping. Oh well. He’s been such an old man lately, yet he’d get mad almost every night that I had to go to bed early because I had to wake up early to go to work the next day. I got online and began sending out invites to my baby shower. When I was just about to go to bed Mario woke up. He ate some of the dinner (meatloaf, broccoli and cheese) I’d made earlier. I was just sitting at the table with my laptop to start uploading pictures to Myspace and Flickr when he asked if I wanted to watch a movie. Alaethia was still awake, but sure, why not.

We watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. We got the ottoman ready with pickles, pepsi and popcorn just like at the movies. Alaethia fell asleep and we continued watching the movie.

SPOILER ALERT!!! SKIP THE NEXT PARAGRAPH IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE!!!
I sort of figured how it would end, but when it actually got there and everything started panning out I couldn’t stop bawling. I just didn’t like the fact that he was an innocent baby when he eventually died. It was awful. I was literally watching between my fingers and Mario was laughing, but being kind about it, the whole ending. He reached over and squeezed my arm and said, “Babe, c’mon! You knew how it was going to end!” And I blabbered, “Yes, but it’s not fair that he’s a baby! A baby! I hate this movie!” Could have just been the hormones talking, but it was so sad. See, I’m getting teary-eyed just remembering.
SPOILER OVER!!!

Between having to pause the movie while Alaethia was awake and asking for stuff, my potty breaks and the movie being long itself, we went to bed at 2:45am. Oy. It was going to be hard waking up the again the next day.

The Beginning of Ultra-Nesting

I saw Mario off to work and then started tidying up here and there. I had a whole to-do list and it just seemed like it was impossible that everything’s going to get done. After lunch, John came over and I asked him to tag along with me and Alaethia to Hancock Fabrics. I’d started the morning by putting her in training pants and letting her walk around and use the potty everytime I had to go (which was often), but then she peed in the kitchen so we just took a break, heh.

I wanted to get the other valance done for my kitchen and I ran out of fabric. I hoped I’d find the right fabric; I’d gotten it back in November when the autumn colors were popular and wasn’t sure if I’d find it again.

It took forever to get there because first I got off the wrong exit, then I couldn’t remember how to turn around and find Business 83, and then I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to go East or West on Old 83. Grr. Needless to say, I had to rush and find some fabric (they didn’t have the one I wanted so I picked another stripey fabric that’s still cute) and still get to the school on time to pick up the boys. Alaethia didn’t make the end of the trip easy, either. Someone took her to town with them once (and I WILL find out who it was!) and let her sit in the basket part instead of the actual seat. Well, she made a big fuss when I wouldn’t let her out of the seat. It was awful. We finally gave in and told her she’d better sit before she fell out. So she did.

We picked up the boys and then John went to the bank while I got the boys started on their homework. I needed to go to Target and Walmart and Alaethia was already tired so the kiddos all stayed with Mom.

We went to Target first and then went to Walmart. Mario met us there since I wanted his opinion on what toddler bed to get Alaethia. We couldn’t find anything we liked. I really wish we could find a bed like the one the boys had. It was that hard Fisher-Price-type plastic and it was really cute. We’d sold it at a garage sale we had when Alaethia was around 4 months old because her crib turns into a daybed and full sized bed…and we didn’t think we’d have anymore babies LOL.

After we got home, put everything away and had dinner, we went over to Jorge’s. Mom offered to stay with Alaethia, so that was good since the time we’d gone over with her before she kept spilling stuff and was moody. I think this was the second time going over to their house since they moved into Jorge’s mom’s house.

We chilled out with Jorge, Javi and Maggie while the guys tried their hardest to make the internet work. At the same time, Jorge was transferring a whole butt-load of movies from his computer to Mario’s external. We were going to have movie nights for a month!
