Star Wars & Procrastination

Revenge of the Sith was THE BEST! It was incredible. I won’t go into detail for those who haven’t seen it yet, but man, you’ve GOT to see it. The boys had a great time. Jaylen fell asleep halfway through (as always) but loved what he got to see and Eenan just adored it. He kept commenting and laughing during the funny parts. There was one “gorey” part, where Mario had to quickly reach over and shield his eyes, but nothing else really bothered him.

Negative Things:
– arguing with Mario, openly in front of the kids, about finances on the way over there
– ending up at the wrong theatre because I forgot which one we were going to *slaps self*
– hearing Mario complain about how we were going to get crappy seats because of my navigational mistake
– Eenan having a pee-pee accident =\
– Mario having to get out of line to wait for me (the boys went with Sonia, Noey, and Andy) since I hadn’t had a chance to go pee yet because of Eenan’s accident

Positive Things:
– We got back in line right away
– We got REALLY good seats!
– The boys were incredibly well-behaved
– The movie rocked!
– Mario and I made peace 😛

After the movie we went to Aunt Nora’s. There, we talked with John about getting our driver’s licenses together and he’s going to come over today to practice his turns and stuff. We discussed the plan of action–what he’s doing over the summer. After he gets his license he’ll be driving Mom to work and back since she has to go in at night now and Aunt Nora can’t drive at night. During the day (while Mom’s at work) he can go around and fill out applications at places. If he hopefully gets a job, he’ll work and Mom will quit. That’ll go on till I can figure something out. I was thinking maybe after Jaylen starts school I can drop him off with her when he gets out (or before he goes in, depending on what time of day he’ll be attending Pre-K) and pay her for babysitting him while I take a few classes. That’s my goal for next year–getting my license (this year) and then starting school. I can’t wait really.

As for today, I have lots of stuff to do around the house. I hardly did anything yesterday since I was messing around with the website. I had to make myself a list last night in order to get things done! How sad is that? If I don’t have a list, I’m completely lost . I’ll probably have to do that today.

And, speaking of the site, I installed the Plugboard. It didn’t use a database . For some reason, when I tried installing it before, I thought it used one, heh. Thinking it needed one is what scared me away from trying to install it. I’m so lazy when it comes to learning new “web” stuff, it’s pathetic.

Okay, breakfast is ready and it smells delicious!

PHPness & Star Wars!

Woo! I’m on a roll. I finally made a new layout for Nostalgic Sparkles (almost wanted to use it for a skin here!). I moved away from the teeny, tiny iframes and also converted from HTML to PHP. To make things much easier on myself (and more frequent updates) I installed PHPClique. I never thought I’d get the hang of MySQL, because I’d tried before and totally flopped, but I love it. I’m planning to add a Plug Board, Birthday List and Ask & Answer script later on this week or next week sometime.

Mary left for Arizona this morning for Sammy’s Communion. She’ll be back on Monday. Eenan was a wreck already, since he won’t see his Nana for a few days. I don’t think Jaylen’s realized she’s not here, or else he’d be throwing tantrums.

Andy’s treating us all (Mario, the boys and I) to watch Star Wars today! How incredibly nice and sweet of him. Eenan was disappointed because I told him we needed to save money (since we’re almost broke, again) and that we sadly weren’t going. He was thrilled to find out we were going after all. I was watching the news last night and people were lined up in costumes waiting to watch the midnight showing. I didn’t know people would do that here LOL!

After that we’re going to visit Mom and Aunt Nora. Shoot. I need to make lunch, before Mario wakes up from his nap and complains that he’s starving . My gosh, I don’t know if it was that half a bag of Dill Pickle Lays I just ate but I feel REALLY happy today!

Yadira’s Get-together & Grandma Chelo

I’ve been hacking up a lung since I woke up this morning. I was feeling SO much better yesterday–there was the occassional nose-blowing, but that’s about it. Now, I can’t go 10 seconds without coughing. Doesn’t help I had Cheerios with sliced bananas and milk. The milk produces more damn phlem. My damn chest is hurting .

Mario didn’t get home from work last night till 3:30am! He normally goes in at 10am, but went in at 9am because he had an alarm to do. He did 6 of his own cars, finished his last one at 8:30, owner picked it up at 9 and then he stayed to help Jorge, Albert and two other guys finish up 3 cars the boss said they “had” to get done. So they stayed till 3am. That’s just horrible. And instead of giving them slack–and say, letting them go in a little later–oh no, they had to go in at 9am again. Grr. Poor Mario’s so burned out and it’s barely Tuesday!

Grandma Chelo, my Dad’s mother, passed away this weekend . I found out on Saturday, only because Dad’s ex- bitch mistress is the one who called to tell me. Well, she only has Mary’s number, not ours, so she called and gave Mary the message. I really don’t like her. I don’t know why she has to call when she’s not even family. Dad called yesterday, and probably didn’t call sooner only because he was so distraught. I feel almost guilty that I didn’t break down when I heard. Mario said not to be hard on myself as I hadn’t seen her in years, since I was about 12 or 13 I think, and we weren’t very close after that. I’m just glad she isn’t suffering anymore. I heard her last few years were an uphill battle for her . I feel terrible I didn’t get to see her, but in a way, I’m kind of glad I remember her as I do–she was a very strong woman–and not when her health was deteriorating.

Yadira’s birthday get-together was nice. The women sat around the table mostly talking about weight loss and other girly things. Mary made lasagna and salad, which was delicious. Mary used some cucumbers from Grandpa Dario’s (flourishing!) garden…they were seriously the most ripe, crunchy cucumbers I’ve ever eaten. He’s got watermelons and just about everything growning in his garden. I can only wish for a green thumb…I’m surprised the Ivy mom gave me is still alive!

After Yadira’s party we went to visit Tia Alicia and Tia Aurora, who’s visiting from California. Bless Tia Alicia’s heart, who said I looked much, MUCH thinner than the last time she saw me. I beg to differ, but I’ll take any compliments .

Well, Jaylen’s up and I have (more) laundry to do and REALLY need to clean out the turtles’ tank, so this will be all. Jackie’s gotten so big…she’s bigger than Squirt and he’s much older than her! I hope his growth wasn’t stunted for being the the tiny tank they gave Yadira .
