Whirlwind

I’m fine, I’m alive. Passed my Technical Writing class with an A. Did great on my presentation, which was on Mario’s cell phone, if I do say so myself. Mayra, Ricci, and Lucy all did great, too. Everyone did actually–I was really impressed.

Ricci hadn’t gone to school in a while as I last mentioned. I went over there last Thursday after school and kidnapped her and the girls. I’d gotten a phone call from her, well Goyo actually, and she wrote me a letter saying her car was stolen. I was in shock. I couldn’t believe how much bad luck she’d had. She caught up on her assignments here, she turned it in and we did our presentations the next day and then we visted her Grandma. We got some shocking news about her car. I won’t go into detail as it’s not my story to tell, but she’s car-less.

Lucy seems to be having problems now, more than ever. She’s missed school two days in a row and that’s just unusual of Lucy. I don’t know how to help her and that sucks. It sometimes seems like she doesn’t want help at all.

Mayra, Rolando, Ricci and I went to eat at the House of China yesterday after school. It was fun and our conversations were just crazy. Ricci and I stopped by Mario’s work today and he sent me to Taco Bell to get him a Gordita, so I got Ricci and myself some food. Yum. I got that Fiesta Salad. Too bad I have incredible heart burn now!

We’re having a “Field Trip” on Friday to T-Mobile and after that we’re eating at Mr. Gatti’s. With all this fast food, it’s a wonder that I can’t figure out JUST HOW I’m gaining weight.

I actually lost 3 lbs. over this weekend after catching a virus on Friday (I even had to leave school early!), but I’m pretty sure I gained it all back, plus some, heh. I love food, what can I say?

Ok, the Fideo is burning or something and I feel like my body’s about to collapse. I’m so tired. Poor Mario came home from work with a fever and ear ache. I hope he’s okay for tomorrow.

Not A Day at the Beach

Ricci didn’t come to school again today. She, Goyo and the girls visited us on Thursday night, which was her birthday. She didn’t really say anything about coming to school. I hope she decides to attend some time in the next two days or else they’ll expell her for missing 10 days in a row.

I went with Mario on Friday to the beach to pick up Eenan’s shoes. It was such a nice day but we didn’t get off at the beach; just went straight there and back for the shoes. I’m sort of regretting not going to school now. I didn’t want to take John’s Civic to school, seeing as how it breaks at the last minute and all down the Expressway people are coming to complete stops. I should have taken it anyway. I ruined my perfect attendance AND I have a zero–first zero ever–because we can’t make up quizzes and we take a quiz every day. Grr.

Anyway, we tried resting as much as possible after we got back Friday. We picked Eenan up then went to the movies. We made the mistake of taking the boys with us to watch Underworld. Jaylen was fine–he even fell asleep halfway through like he usually does. Eenan, on the other hand, was crying during the “sad” parts. The decapitations that were going on left and right didn’t scare him and we covered his eyes during the rated R parts, but still, it was such a bad movie to take them to. Next time I’ll listen to Mom when she asks if I’d like her to babysit.

After the movies we went to Wal-Mart to buy house stuff (TP, detergent, etc.). Our darn Debit Card wasn’t working so we ended up having to write a check, which I hate doing. I hope the darn bank doesn’t charge us any insufficient funds fees, since the money was in there but the debit card just wasn’t being accepted.

I spent Saturday morning cleaning the house and then Eenan, Jaylen, John, Mom, and I went to visit Gramma. She’s doing fine, thank goodness. Her Shingles spots disappeared, but she says she still feels a bit of itching.

I went back to Wal-Mart to return a chrome tea kettle we’d bought on Friday. The darn lid fell off so I got a better one. $6 more expensive but it’s so pretty and black :). After that we went to H-E-B to do some grocery shopping. I got a bunch of stuff (including junk food–we indulged this time) and I only spent $105! We usually spend close to $200 every two weeks, but I’m learning how to keep track and buy only what we need. Okay, so we don’t need junk food but we never buy any so it’s okay .

Did I mention how bad the boys behaved that day? My gosh. The older they get, the worse they act in public. I’m the lady you see at the store that you feel bad for and annoyed by at the same time because she can’t control her screaming kid. I thought it was supposed to get better?!

Mario and I went to Chris and Nancy’s that night. Yadira, Yazmin, Angela and Tommy stopped by later and all the women stayed inside talking. When everyone started leaving Nancy and I went to her room to watch their wedding photos, which they had put on DVD. The guy did an amazing job, he even made a DVD cover. We didn’t get home till 2am that night. I was SO tired.

We were supposed to go to the zoo on Sunday, but we were so sleepy and the weather was murky (it got better later on, so I wish we’d gone!). I spent the morning doing my homework, which Mrs. C-R was kind enough to e-mail to me on Friday. We went to watch Saw 2 later on and this time we did leave the boys with mom. That movie was disturbing. I liked it a lot better than Saw, but it was twice more gorey. I loved how the storyline flowed though. It was awesome.

Man, I’m falling asleep here. On top of that I’ve got a sore throat and I’m wearing the stupid, huge black pique polo we use as our “uniform”, so I’m feeling quite uncomfortable. Yep, we’re in college and wear uniforms, bleh. We’re not allowed to wear our T-shirt school shirts anymore because of the hoochie mamas that would tie the shirt behind their backs or rip them to look “fashionable”. Thanks, skanks. Now I’ve got to go spend $23 on a new polo because I hate the one they “gave” me at the start of the school year. They better have Small this time or I’m going to raise hell.

No Bad Luck For Me–So Far

I think this is the first Friday the 13th ever that something bad doesn’t happen. It’s actually been a pleasant day!

Woke up, took a shower and had my bowl of Special K (with strawberries!). I’ve gone on the Special K diet (since Wednesday I think?) and have already lost a lb.! Woo!

We took our “Before” pics at school for the contest. The whole class watched as we pulled our shirts tightly around ourselves and showed our lard. I won’t dare post those pics up here, but I will post this one:

I don’t think I’ve ever put up a pic of “all of me” in all the years I’ve been blogging, but here it is. Yes, I’m short and stout. With big boobs.

After taking the Before pictures, Pepe (who’s camera we were using) wanted a group picture, so we took one. Not all of the class is in it, like a few girls from the other side, Joe and Ricci (who was absent). I’ve got a new pic for my scrapbook!

Speaking of, I need to get a few (okay, A LOT) of pictures printed and I’m thinking of going with either Walgreens (first 20 prints free!), Walmart or Target. Has anyone had any experiences with these stores and how was the quality of the pictures? What’s best: picking up in-store or delivering (they charge shipping, huh?)? Your input would be GREATLY appreciated !

We got our Business Communications (or, English) finals back and I got a 106! I was having so much trouble with the Participles and Perfects but I only missed 2 in that section! I was so sure I was going to bomb that part, but I somehow understood it . I can’t wait to find out what I passed the class with.

I accompanied Mayra to Party Universe and Hector’s Health Store after school. Mayra hadn’t had breakfast and my cereal was wearing off so we stopped at Taco Bell. Silly us thinking they had salads, heh. We had a salad alright, the one that has beans, ground beef, sour cream, cheese and all this other stuff. It was so sinfully GOOD. I was going to have my cereal tonight since I didn’t have it for lunch, but we’re going to Jorge and Maggie’s for Jorge’s birthday and we shall surely eat there. I vow to be un-gluttonous.

When I got home Mario was in a great mood and so was Jaylen. I had playfully lied on top of him and ended up falling asleep there until we had to pick Eenan up from school. Mario drove, thankfully. I’ve been so tired lately–it sucks!

Terry stopped by for a visit after we picked Eenan up. It was so nice seeing him. He’s still as funny as ever. We talked about our pets and about people and just caught up on everything. We asked if he’d like a kitten, but they’ve got like, a zillion of them already.

Aren’t they cute? I think Daisy’s the one that’s missing from the picture. We’re keeping the white one. I still haven’t found a name for her. It has to be the perfect one.

We’re leaving soon, but before I’m done I’ll leave you with an article John showed me. It’s totally unbelievable!

Cy, short for Cyclopes, a kitten born with only one eye and no nose, is shown in this photo provided by its owner in Redmond, Oregon, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005. The kitten, a ragdoll breed, which died after living for one day, was one of two in the litter. Its sibling was born normal and healthy.

Read the whole article here. It’s real and just, creepy.
