Time With Friends

Jaylen and I spent all of Sunday here at home. I was bored out of my mind. Eenan went to town with Mary so it was just Jaylen and I. I was supposed to go to Target with Mary that day, but didn’t so I still haven’t returned/exchanged my stuff. I loathe not having a license (or a car of my own) .

Mario came home after work and picked us up (thank GOD) and we went to Jorge’s. We picked up some snacks at the huge Coca-Cola-shaped Drive-Thru and prayed for the best since we had BOTH the kids. Usually, Eenan spends the night at Mary’s and only Jaylen goes with us. It wasn’t as horrible as I thought it was going to be. I spent some time with Jorgie and Justin inside while they ate some bananas while Maggie was out. The rest of the night Maggie and I just watched Mario, Jorge and Hiram install the garage door opener. It actually worked !

Thursday’s Hiram’s birthday so we’re going to have a little party for him. I’m baking a chocolate cake, Mario’s grilling some fish and Jorge is making the fajitas. That’s another thing…we need to go grocery/house stuff shopping and SOON. I hope Mario gets his day off on Thursday after all.

We rented movies and bought ice cream that night. I fell asleep half-way through the movie though LOL.

Yesterday I cleaned the house from top to bottom. Well, not all the way to the bottom since I didn’t get a chance to mop, heh. I barely finished up when Rejeana got here. It’s the first time I’ve seen her since sometime in November before she left to England. She & Geoff got me the set of McDonald’s Happy Meal Care Bears from the UK…aww! They’re too darn adorable. She also brought some English tea with her so I boiled some water and we sat down and had tea and toast . The tea was so good. Never had tea like that before and never have I added milk to my tea! It was awesome. We spent the rest of the night online and just talking and catching up. I made dinner and we ate and then Mario got home. We watched the other movie we got, Maria Full of Grace, which I’ve wanted to watch since it came out. I thought it was a good movie. The very end was a bit “blah”–could have had a more detailed ending–but Mario and I tend to think the endings suck of most movies LOL. It’s something I noticed recently . Rejeana left before the movie finished so I’ll have to fill her in. It was nice seeing her .

Tommy and Yadira’d brought back Jaylen’s toddler bed since Angela wasn’t using it anymore so I set it up Sunday night and he slept there half the night. At around 3am he jumped back into bed with me. Last night though, I moved the bed right next to mine and held his hand till he fell asleep and he slept there all night long! My back actually didn’t hurt this morning since he didn’t suction himself to my back. It hurt because Mario took up all the space . I had forgotten how much space that boy requires. We hadn’t slept in the same bed because of Jaylen in months. I must prepare myself for the elbowing and waking me up from a peaceful sleep for the midnight rendevous .

Gonna join the hubby on the couch and take a shower and try not to stay up too late. I woke him up 30 mintues late this morning because I went back to sleep after I turned the alarm off.

Out And About

Mario didn’t end up going in to work . They had some other guy go in instead. He even felt kind of guilty for not going in, but he figured he’d take — and enjoy — his day off since he probably won’t be getting one for the next month.

I slept in till 10am today. I hadn’t slept till 10am in so long! It was nice . Mario’d been up since 8am but let us sleep. We ate breakfast, then Mario was outside with Vito again, who was trying to add new parts to the Prelude. When they were done, (it was already lunchtime), we left to town. Mario hadn’t eaten so we decided we’d go to Joe’s Crab Shack. I was excited about going there since I *love* seafood and I’d never been there. But unfortunately, it was packed and the seating hostess was super rude; she didn’t even acknowledge us, much less write us in, so we left. We went to Red Lobster, which was super full too, but they wrote us in right away and told us it would be a 25 minute wait. The boys were okay–not too hyper and they actually listened the first time they were told to do something. It was the best service I’ve ever had at a restraunt in all my life. She brought our drinks very quickly, our appetizer & food quickly, checked up on us frequently, and even laughed at Eenan’s jokes . The food was to die for (I’d never eaten at Red Lobster, either). For once, I ordered without adding the cost up in my head (ok, I did, but I did it without feeling nervous). Everything was really good. Mario’d wanted calamari for the longest time, so he ordered some with breaded broccoli and red peppers with shredded motzerella cheese on top. It was GOOD. Even Eenan and Jaylen had some. They loved their chocolate smoothies and popcorn shrimp and fries. Mario and I ordered the same thing: shrimp with crab meat, crawfish and lobster meat too (I think) covered in some tasty sauce and CHEESE with a baked potato. Mmmm…I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it. It was awesome. I can’t wait to go back for our anniversary next month (if all goes well) .

We went to the Sprint store to exchange Noelia’s phone, but the lady said they couldn’t just sell us another phone at sale price like they used to; we’d have to pay full price. And on top of that it was going to take forever, so we left. Went to Target to get Mario more jeans and then Pet Smart to get the rats’ food. After that, we went to Best Buy to get some DVD-Rs and a charger for Mario’s phone. We visited Gramma for a while (well, only Jaylen and I got off to see her, Eenan had been misbehaving so Mario stayed with him in the car). We got there and the first thing I noticed were her neighbors belongings all boxed up and I asked her what happened. She said the lady had passed away on Thursday. How sad . It scared me so much to think Gramma might not be here one day. I wish I could visit her more often. I hadn’t seen her in almost a month! We talked and caught up. Even had a laugh when a little old man in a wheelchair tried escaping through the back door and another little old lady started yelling, “Woooooo hoooooo!” LOL. I noticed Gramma’s even put more weight on. Her face and arms look fuller . I really hope we can get the Prelude running, and then my license soon so I can have the Sentra to myself and I can drive over there and see Gramma more often.

We went to Wal-mart after that to pick up groceries, house supplies, and wall mounts for the surround sound. Then to K-Mart to buy the towels that are on sale (we still have the same towels from when we got married almost 6 years ago, we’ve only bought towels once before ). After that, we finally came home and I helped Mario install the wall mounts. We rearranged the living room and now it’s so spacey. I don’t know why it never occured to us to arrange everything like this before!

Mario went to Jorge’s for a little bit and I fed the kids, bathed them, then read them some stories and put them to bed. Had some trouble with Eenan who insisted there were black widow spiders in his bed and biting him . He went to lay on my bed and then screamed that something burned him on the toe. He finally fell asleep when I threatened to turn off the night light and close the door (he likes it open since he can see the light from the living room). And now I’m here, making Mario’s MP3 disc while he’s sprawled on the couch enjoying his surround sound LOL. Oh and good news: my teeth don’t hurt! I actually ate and drank cold drinks without feeling a shot of pain. Hopefully I won’t need a root canal after all. *crosses fingers*

Pee-yew…I need a shower .

Just Another Day

I’m so bored. I could be cleaning or responding to e-mails, but you know me. How I love to procrastinate and then bitch about how bored I am and how I have “nothing to do”. Heh.

My damn wisdom tooth is KILLING me. My cheek looks swollen . I slathered Orajel all up in there yesterday only to have it taste like absolute crap and it didn’t help at all. It was the “junior” one even…forgive me, Eenan and Jaylen, for shoving that crap in your mouth while you were teething. I’m a horrible mother. Cherry flavored my ass .

Mary and I and the boys went searching for Eenan’s “Hawaiian” shirt and sandals yesterday for his beach themed pictures today. We shopped in under an hour, but it pissed me off we couldn’t find not ONE damn Hawaiian shirt anywhere. I checked JCPenny online and they supposedly had 4 different styles. Well, not at the store. We ended up finding one (that I wasn’t too thrilled about to begin with) at Sears and got his sandals (and some for Jaylen) at Payless.

This morning when I dropped him off at school he was in utter shock that only one other male classmate was wearing sandals and pulled me over to the other side of the hall to talk to me. He usually loves his sandals (much easier to put on than socks and tennis shoes!), but you know how kids are and he was slightly embarrassed. He kept saying Heriberto wasn’t wearing them. I asked him, “Why does it matter? You like them. Do you think he’s going to make fun of you?” He nods and he wipes tears from his eyes and I try consoling him. After 5 minutes of trying to convince him he was going to be okay, I tell him to go sit against the wall with his friends till it’s time to go into class to have breakfast. He drags me over with him so I kneel in front of him and tell him, “Look! Felipe is wearing sandals too! Aw, look how nice they are. And your other friend is wearing them, too!” He looks up a little but still felt upset. I took the chance of maybe embarrassing him a bit more and ask his other friend, Felix — who was wearing cowboy boots — if he liked Eenan’s shoes. He (thankfully) said yes. Then Felipe said he liked them, then his other friend said he liked them, then Christina and another little girl chimed in, and then Heriberto said he liked them. I told him, “You see! All your friends like your shoes, Eenan.” He wipes his eyes and cracks a smile and starts talking to everyone. I told him I was leaving and he didn’t even pay attention since he was busy chatting away. It’s so strange how even at that age what other people think of them is so important. But *whew*, I’m glad that went well. Hopefully the rest of his day is good too.

So…that’s it. I lost my train of thought since I’ve been back-and-forth on the phone with Aunt Nora and Mary for the past 30 minutes. They’re going to get John driving sometime next week. Aunt Nora’s gonna drive with him for about 3 days and then he’s off on his own. Scary. I’m sorry, I’ve been “learning to drive” since I was 14 and I couldn’t get it. I was too damn scared. Now, at 22, I’m still scared shitless but at least I can drive (somewhat), BUT I still don’t have my license. Someone needs to hypnotize me out of being petrified of driving.

Ah yes, Jaylen’s up. And he’s already screaming. Joy.
