Feria Artesanal
We finally got to sleep in today!!
I made breakfast (2 separate times, because I never seem to estimate the egg to person ratio correctly, ever!).
Jorge, Jorgie, Jaylen and Justin all got ready to go dove hunting, but not before the boys and I got into a conversation about nicknames. It started because I called all the boys into the kitchen and as I was handing something to Eenan I said, “Here, Nano,” he says, “Why do I have the most embarrassing nickname? It literally means small!” Jorgie says, “I dont have a nickname *insert sad face*,” and I say, “Jorgie IS your nickname!” Then we got into how Jaylen’s came to be (Jake), which eventually led to Jaylen asking, “Why do you love us?” Which led to a conversation about my pregnancy with him, heh.
So the boys left and I started cleaning. Jorge uploaded a photo of the boys:

The weather must have affected the hunt, because they hardly saw any. Last week, they were everywhere!
I tried vacuuming and I couldn’t get the attachment to work correctly so I gave up on life and made lunch. It was only Alaethia, Emily, Eenan and me (and Mom and John). There was an event going on called “El Grito de Independencia” celebrating 16 de Septiembre and it included an Artisan Expo. I got the girls ready and we went. Eenan, of course, stayed at home with Mom and John.
It was nice seeing some of the vendors from my event. The few I got to go up to to say hi remembered me and told me to sign them up for my event, woo! I picked up a few new business cards, but it was difficult to do with the girls wanting to buy everything in sight! They bought Glorias, which are a leche quemada-type candy with pecans. They had chocolate-covered strawberries.

We had kettle potato chips and candied pecans. I got to buy the tostadas I love :). The lady who makes them is so sweet :). I also found the artist from Guerrero, who’s little sugar skulls I love, and his paintings on papel amate.

Aren’t they gorgeous?? I wanted a yellow drawing to match the one we already have, but he’d sold those already :(. I was okay with this one, though!!
The girls and I listened to the music while we ate some chips:

And then we took off for Goodwill. Alaethia was hoping we’d find Littlest Pet Shop toys, like the little girl who’s videos she watches on YouTube, but of course we didn’t. She got over it and we went to HEB to do some grocery shopping. It started raining again (not as bad as yesterday) and Jorge and the boys cane to rescue us hehe.
We got home and I did some more laundry, reminded the boys to shower every 5 minutes, and I made dinner. Tostadas!

They were a hit. Eenan and the girls had sesame seed ones, Jorge, Jorgie, Jaylen and John all liked the jalapeño tostadas. They were so good!!! I’m so sad I only have a few left :(.
And now Jorge and I are waiting for the last load of laundry before we go to bed and start a new week. I hope Baby Jesus sends me lots of patience this week!
