Am I THAT Out of Shape?!
Mary and I are hopefully going to start with our walks 3 times a week again, at least. We just got back from our power walk. Each of us had one of the boys in the stroller, which added a little resistance. Since we hadn’t walked in a while (I haven’t even used the tredmil since I got the flu a few weeks, maybe a month or two, ago), we were out of breath and our calves/thighs/bottom of our feet were in pain…and we were barely a block away! ![]()
We did okay on the way up the hill. On the way back down, we saw a UPS truck and I thought, “Mario’s package was supposed to arrive today” and sure enough, it came down our street. We jogged a little bit, then I ran full speed with Jaylen and stroller in tow a little under half-way back. Needless to say, I missed the truck and I felt like I was about to barf; my mouth was so dry. I waited for Mary at the corner and when she caught up I started feeling really dizzy. I’d never felt dizziness like that before. Everything around me turned really bright fushia/green colors so I closed my eyes, grasped on to the stroller’s handles and slowly kneeled down. Everything was spinning. When I felt like I was okay, I got back up. Mary told me to stay put a little bit while I focused. I couldn’t even see straight. Totally strange. That’s never happened to me before. When we got home (and BTW, I ran for NOTHING because they left the package at the door
!), I started feeling really thirsty and my chest felt like it was tightening up; like I couldn’t breathe. Either I was having a heart attack or my sugar went up. It couldn’t have been low because I know what it feels like when it’s low. I’m so going to have some type of glucose problem, and it sucks
. I’ve been drinking nothing but limeade, tea and strawberry milk since we’re totally out of water. I REFUSE to drink tap water–that’s disgusting. I haven’t even had much of an appetite since last week…and when I do get hungry all I want is junk food–sweet junk food. I need to keep exercising…I don’t like feeling like this

I was the same way about tap water vs bottled water until I realized I was spending too much money on it. lol Now I can drink tap water if I refill a bottled water bottle and put it in the fridge until it’s very very cold. Somehow if I do that my mind is convinced that it’s “not dirty” lol
Ugh I’ve so got to get into a workout routine though. Be careful not to push too hard… lightheadedness and vision problems are terrible to deal with.

I hope you feel better. :/ For exercising: don’t push yourself! What good is toning up/losing weight if you fall over from a heart attack in the process?

Wow, sounds like you’re havin just as rough a time as I am. Strange how we always end up sick around or near the same time as each other lol Maybe we’re long lost family and just don’t know it *ponders* π Either way I hope you feel better soon! *hugs*

Do you think you need to go have your blood sugar checked (I hate to say it) for Diabetes? It could just be the running too. Once I got totally sick (I couldn’t lay down that night to sleep my lungs hurt too much) from walking around in the city – up and down hills – for like 4 hours. I hope you’re better soon!! <3

I agree, sounds like you weren’t breathing properly. One, when I was preggers with Rene, I was in agony with a kidney infection (I didn’t know about) and had been breathing hard for a while. Finally I couldn’t take the pain anymore and went to my Dr. office (I can’t believe I drove) and passed out at the counter. I had been hyperventilating. Sounds like you had been doing the same thing and were really close to passing out but didn’t. In through nose – out through mouth. π

Eeeef, what a horrible feeling! Maybe you’ weren’t breathing properly when you were sprinting. I used to get like that when I went jogging before I learned to control my breathing. I found that concentrating on breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth helped enormously. Not that I’ve jogged in…god it must be years now. I cant even blame it on being in a wheelchair anymore! π
