Not Now!
Jaylen was fine all day and we were all (including his teachers) certain that he was getting better. We went to eat at McDonald’s (which I did not want to do to begin with after hearing about the mouse that was found in that one football player’s wife’s salad!), where the kids half-ate and played on the Game Cubes (thanks, McDonald’s, for making my job even harder!). We finished up, went to the pawn shop where Mario put a gun he wanted on Lay-a-way (yes, we’re getting locks, a safe and all that important stuff because you never know), took John’s guitar to get new strings put in and then went to Target.
The kids got the movie Mario promised them (Over the Hedge), they had money that Big Mario gave them so they bought two small toys, John got what he needed, we got tissues, lots of medicines (I’m sick with a cold now too, great!), a bookcase for our bedroom, a dustpan and we came home. It was Sonia’s birthday yesterday and we were having a get together for her and we were late. We noticed when we got here that Jaylen looked different, a little sad even. Turns out he was getting a fever. I gave him his new Mucinex–the powdery one that supposedly tastes like bubblegum but tastes like absolute crap! Poor thing downed it and felt nauseous afterwards and after I felt him I gave him Tylenol for his fever. Too bad we don’t have Motrin–that one works much faster.
We were going to go to Jorge’s but opted to stay home since Jaylen was sick. We all sat around the TV and watched Over the Hedge. I’ve felt nauseous all night–I don’t know if it’s because Jaylen’s sick and I’m feeding off his sickness, which I tend to do, or if I’m getting some kind of virus or food poisoning (I keep thinking of icky McDonald’s!). I’m getting cramping pains and I just feel crappy. At least it’s during the weekend that I’m sick though. It still sucks since I do have plans for this weekend (a baby shower and Jamaica).
I hope Jaylen gets better. Eenan left to sleep over at Mary’s and I put Jaylen in to take a quick shower to bring his fever down. I hope it works. I hate when my little ones feel this way; no child should ever feel sick :(.

Have a happy and safe Halloween Yajaira! I hope your son gets better! 🙁 Catching a cold is such a pain.
