The Kids’ First Day of School
The girls and I had a hard time falling asleep last night, probably because today was their first day back at school.
I woke up at 5:30a.m. to make sure we’d all be ready on time. They got dressed, excitedly, because they were wearing the outfits they picked themselves ^_^. They looked so cute all dolled up with their hair in a headband and their backpacks and lunch boxes (Hello Kitty for Alaethia, Doc McStuffins for Emily).

I was nervous for the girls. Emily seemed excited, but she seemed that way last year then cried half the year :(.
I was nervous for Alaethia because a little boy that would pick on her last year was sitting right next to her. She seemed really uncomfortable when she found out on Meet the Teacher night. And it was the same this morning; her chipper attitude was completely deflated when she walked in her class and saw him sitting there. As she’s getting settled he looks right at her and says, somewhat annoyed, “I didn’t know you were going to be in my class.” She ignores him and I give her a kiss and tell her to have a great day, no matter what.
I had borrowed Aly’s teacher’s Sharpie to write their names on their lunch boxes and end up walking Emily to her class holding Alaethia’s lunch box…and realized I left Emily’s Target bag of supplies on Aly’s desk. Ugh. So, back we go.
Alaethia looked so upset, still, and for the rest of the day I couldn’t unsee her sad little face. I prayed her would be nice to her.
I took Emily back to her class and the teacher asked her questions and then we found her assigned seat. She sat quietly, hands on her lap, like a good little princess :). I’m happy to announce that they BOTH had a great day!!!
My boys did, too!

Jaylen stayed in band after all and got into football. OMG, I fear for my skinny boy’s safety!!!
Eenan was thrilled that he got friends in all his classes, I just hope he doesn’t get distracted. >_< So all-in-all, they all had a great day!! Thank you, Lord!!! May they continue to have great days all year long!

Aww, your little girls are so cute. I remember going back to school after being out for the summer *sigh* those where the good ol days when I was young. I miss high school, don’t you? LOL Football may be good for your kid, they will make him work out, atleast thats how it was when I was in school. I was a cheerleader and so we where required to take weight training as long as we where on the squad and it went the same with anyone in football and basketball. He will get all big muscles and stuff :). Your family is beautiful like your hun :). MUAH!!!
I would have to say that I do and don’t miss high school LOL! Thank you so much for the compliment, hun :). My boys are doing alright in football; Jaylen is being tackled left and right, but he’s in good spirits about it and he enjoys the sport so I have to be calm LOL. He does get weight training and he eats like there’s no tomorrow so I’m sure he’ll buff up a bit. Tomorrow is his first official game, eek!!
LOL why don’t you miss school? i loved it. that is good that he is in good spirits, i would see these little skinny guys get tossed around when they would do practices and stuff… ay ay ay i couldnt watch.. as for eating, remember, they are young they can eat an entire buffet and then some and not gain a pound…high metabolism.. i miss having that LOL…
I guess I don’t miss it because of the drama LOL. Feeling like an ugly duckling (well, I still have my moments hehe). BUT I most definitely DO miss the high metabolism!! I could eat anything and I was still under 100 lbs. all the time! My boys are all bottomless pits. They all have weight-room class along with football, so hopefully they’ll bulk up a bit. He had his first game last week and he did so well! They won!
Awwwe! Your kids are so beautiful, the girls look excited to go back! 🙂 I remember being in elementary and middle school and loving it, I couldn’t wait to go back when the school year began. High school, definitely not so much, haha. I didn’t want anything to do with that place, even though I miss it now 😛
So happy they all had a great first day!
Thank you, Sam!! My eldest is in high school and totally feels that way about it hehe. He just told me yesterday he HOPES I’ll allow him to have a “free day” when he doesn’t have to go to school, and not just ’cause he’s sick LOL.
