Adventures in Gardening
We slept in till almost noon today, thanks to the time change, heh. Jorge was up and ready to tackle his to-do list. He went to the auto parts store, bought what he needed (the bank account is screaming), and got to work.
Armed with my cup of hazelnut coffee, I made some cinnamon vanilla French toast. Again the boys wanted only cereal, so I obliged. At some point I got out of my PJs and went with my love to the auto parts store (it was his 3rd visit). He was working in the garage and I was bored so I figured I’d start weeding around the bougainvillea.
I was becoming concerned about my bougainvillea, since it had been flowering wonderfully and all of a sudden it started to wilt! I’d done some research while I wanted in the truck as he was in the store. I realized that, with the rain lately and the few times I’d watered them, I’d overwatered my poor plant :(.

So I weeded around it (that took FOREVER) and I finally decided to go all the way and edge it, lay down the weed screen and put mulch all around. The lawn guy got here just as I was starting on the edging and helped me, then suggested I lay newspaper under the weed screen first, to help keep weeds away even better.

I love it! We plan to add a few petunias next weekend hopefully :). I have to add this photo of this super cute wormie!

I never thought I’d become interested in gardening. I always wanted to, because Mom’s always been into plants and I know my great-grandma was, too, but I never had the patience. Or a yard to call my own, really. It feels great and it’s so satisfying to see the fruits of your labor :).

Well, the fruits of our lawn guy’s labor, too, hehe. He does a hell of a job on our enormous yard (for a great price!).
My love finished with my van AND he washed it! He’s so awesome *swoon*. How’d I get so lucky
?!
I talked to my kiddos right after, showered, and then we just chilled for a bit. I ordered tickets to take the kids to the movies on Tuesday. Gonna start planning some nice (cheap!) things to do for Spring Break. I get all my babies back tomorrow morning ♥!
Junior and all the guys just showed up and brought me this little gem:

I opened it, and found this:

HECK. YES!!! I may not have teeth in the morning, but it’s so worth it :P!
Gonna go enjoy this beautiful evening on the patio :).

That wormie IS so cute. <3
Your place looks lovely.
And I am so jealous of your already-blooming plant!! 😀 So beautiful!
I’d never seen a caterpillar like that in person :). And thank you so much, Rachel :D! I hope I can revive my poor little purple bougainvillea =\. I’m still new to this, heh.
