The kids were off for Columbus Day (random). I was going to get the entire day off to spend with them but my boss was leaving on a trip out of town and lots needed to be done at work. So I went in half a day.
I returned some pants at JC Penney, then got home and piled the kiddos in the truck to go to the pumpkin patch. Mom went, too, and we met Mary there since she was picming up the boys. Gotta love those kiddos; they were good sports and humored me and the 100 photos I took. The best ones:
Didn’t work with the big boys!
Amazingly, they still had tons of energy so I took them to the park to run it off.
And then I relaxed with the kiddos, played Uno with Emmos and tortured myself by making these amazing hasselback potatoes (took forever!).
It’s been 8 months since I decided to go under the knife. I didn’t update last month (month 7 post-op) because I was feeling pretty good and didn’t want to jinx anything.
I’ve had little to no shocks of pain lately. I used to get them a lot around the areolas. Sometimes I’ll still get a sudden sting in the same area I was drained on month 6, but it’s nothing major.
I’ve even been sleeping on my sides again, but I have to be very careful to not squish my boobs. On the actual day of my 8 month post-op anniversary (the 10th), I had some pants to return at JC Penney so I went bra shopping after my epic fail a few months ago (nothing fit comfortably then and I couldn’t figure out my size!).
And this time, I still couldn’t figure it out!
Faaaakkkk!!!
It’s either a C or B (down from DD) but I felt like everything was pressing on my incisions (even though I only tried on wireless bras) and it was giving me anxiety! I could also see lines of chub on my back (a direct result of not being able to run or exercise!!), so I said screw it, I’m keeping my cotton sports bras! I’m more comfortable anyway!
I went running on the 11th and felt pretty damn awesome! My heavy-duty running sports bra wasn’t too constricting and I didn’t feel stretching on my boobs when I ran fast. I had just been thinking about how I hadn’t gotten those weird, red, itchy, mosquito-bite looking welts in a long time! But lo-and-behold, when I got home and took my bra off, there was one on the side of my left boob above my incision! I still don’t know what the heck causes that! Sweat? My blood pressure being elevated from running? The bra itself? Who knows?
But all-in-all, I can’t complain. I feel comfortable and am braless as soon as I get home from work. I just hope it doesn’t backfire and I make my bewbs all wobbly!! Can that happen??
Sorry, thinking out loud. Anyway. If I could just get myself to work out daily again and not have some kind of mammary-incident, that would be great!! I was doing P90X, Yoga and running (occasionally) before that infection on my incision happened, so I’m hoping to start again soon, and hopefully with no problems this time! I have a Halloween Costume and 1920’s themed event I have to dress up for!
I’m getting over a cold right now and Mabs is kneading on my stomach while I’m wrapped in my comfy chevron blanket, my legs curled up on Jorge’s lap. I wish I could stay like this for the rest of the week, watching Fixer Upper on HGTV.
Today was the first “cool” day of the season, the high topping 78 as opposed to our usual 100+ degrees.
It was hot last Thursday when we went to the boys’ football game:
It was thr opposing school’s Homecoming and they went all out with a parade, food trucks, etc. The Littles, Jaylen and I had to leave early since he still had projects to do and the Littles still needed to shower. I am so proud of that boy; he completes every single bit of work he needs to do for his classes, and he hasn’t even started Dual Enrollment yet!
Friday when I had to work at the Food Park during Karaoke was another scorcher, but the kids had fun:
Not a corn on the cob, but sushi!
We had sushi from TaiHu Sushi Truck, Alaethia had a baked potato from Los Brothers and we had aguas de sandia from Tamales Beba. Jaylen didn’t finish his, so I drank it. Aaaaand that’s when I got sick 🙁 . I was over-confident in my usually impenetrable immune system, and went for it, but this cold is kicming my butt!
So I drowned myself in Vitamin C and tried to sweat the sickness out by going for a jog with Sally on Saturday. And my knee didn’t give out, woo!
1 whole lemon, honey and cayenne pepper
My love made dinner while we were at the park.
Homemade chili!
The next day was spent cleaning and helping Alaethia and Jaylen with projects. So off to the library we went to print stuff.
The current art exhibit is by Mario Godinez and I am in love!
La Frida, La Muerte y El AndyEl DaliLa MarilynCantinflas
Those were just a few of my faves!
I vowed I wouldn’t be doing projects all day Sunday but you know how that goes!
Sally came over for a bit and I helped her with her hair. And my love made dinner again! 😀 Shrimp Alfredo this time.
I dropped the boys off on Sunday night, as much as I hate to lose any time with them 🙁 . But it’s unfair to all of them to have to wake up at 5:30am just so I won’t be late to work.
Monday flew by, even though I felt like crap all day. The rainy weather made me wish I was home, but I still had to go return stuff at Kohl’s after work for the girls.
I had a dentist appointment after I dropped the girls off at school. Went to work with my mouth numb, but I survived. Left work early for Alaethia’s cheerleading outfit fitting. Even though it’s expensive, cheerleading was something I always wanted to do, but was too poor to. So I wanted to make this possible for her. Thankfully, her dad, dad’s mom and my mom also chipped in to register her! We’ll see how it goes with this new adventure for all of us!
After the fitting, Jenny and I took the girls to the library and then we came home, where they did their homework and played to their heart’s content.
We chilled out and had pizzas and watched Fixer Upper. And now I must go to bed and mentally prepare for a presentation I volunteered for tomorrow morning. Hope the day flies by!
