Future Chefs

Making dinner was much less lonely tonight since the boys helped me. Usually they’re playing or watching TV, but tonight they offered to help. Jaylen was very into watching and mixing his chicken and was excited to add the other “ingredients”: green beans and cream of chicken soup. When he saw that the food was about to be ready he rubbed his tummy and exclaimed, “This is going to be delicious!”
Eenan was in charge of the stuffing and did a great job. I made the chicken flavored Rice-a-Roni and everything looked awesome. The kids were actually excited to eat this time. I think I’ll have them help me, when they can, whenever the opportunity presents itself. They want me to make meatloaf tomorrow so they can do everything themselves.
These little guys are going to make some ladies very happy when they get older ;).
I can’t wait till there’s 3 little kiddos helping me out at dinnertime :).

Awww! That’s so great! And adorable. Way adorable. π Your boys are so amazing! And yes, they are going to make some ladies *very* happy. π I think it’s great that you let them help out–The counselor in me is screaming: self-esteem, confidence, sense of belonging within the family ecosystem (OHMIGOD, did I just say “family ecosystem”?!), etc! π My mom never let us do anything around the house–I wasn’t allowed to TOUCH the stove until I was 13 so to this day I ask her for EVERYTHING and it’s a v. v. bad habit. π I’m sure dinner was very yummy! π
Thank you so, so much for your sweet comments! It really brightened my day. π We need Harry Potter to lend us some of his magical talent so we can wave a magic wand and make life THAT much easier. π
Ooh, Pirates. π Two words: Johnny Depp. Let’s talk about him. He got a whooping round of applause when he made his entrance onscreen (which in itself was pretty freaking cool. I wish my entrance into LIFE could have been half as awesome. :D) I loved the movie–it was a very good sequel! It got me WAY more into the story and I’m SO wating for the third with baited anticipation. What’s going to happen?! π Meanwhile, I couldn’t believe it was a Disney film. It was kind of violent! I had to look away a few times! Not to mention. The Jack Sparrow/Elizabeth moment was rather…steamy. π I have to say, I’m totally rooting for them. I think Will is too tame for her. And now that I go back and watch the first film, I totally see the love triangle starting that became a HUGE thing in this film. Overall, it was SO suspenseful and action-packed. The swordfights were amazing and the movie totally pulled a LOTR: ROTK. I never thought it was going to end. π What did you think?
Awh thats lovely them helping you with dinner. I’ll be getting my little girl involved with cooking, once she’s old enough anyway. I think its good for children to help out if they can.
Awww…that is so adorable:) It’s nice that they are becoming little cooks and that they are helping you out!
I’m proud of them. They’re becoming kitchen people LOL. Every-so-often they’ll take turns helping me wash dishes. I think it’s more that they like to get wet, but at least they try :P.
what’s your password for your entry? anyways, it’s ok if it’s private. I’m back now and I missed reading your entries he hee.. take care!!
What an adorable photo! My brother and I used to stand on stool in front of the oven to help my mom cook dinner. We even made breakfast a few times, though that was without moms help and the results weren’t quite as tasty, lol.
Yay, I’m glad you’re back. And I’ll be e-mailing you soon.
Aww, that’s so sweet! Was it a surprise for her when she found out you guys cooked on your own? I can’t wait till my boys do that–although right now I keep reminding them not to touch the stove unless I’m present LOL.
