She’s Here!
Alaethia Rose was born at 2:36pm yesterday, Wednesday, January 24th, 2007. She weighs 6 lbs. 10 oz. and is 19 inches long. I went into labor at 6:45am and am so happy to say this is the fastest and probably the most painless labor I’ve ever had. I was falling asleep during delivery and my legs fell asleep because of the epidural for about 4-5 hours, but that’s another story. She’s such a good baby and looks a lot like Jaylen and has my ears and nose and Mario’s long fingers. Mario’s comletely in love; he’d be falling asleep and still didn’t want to give her to me LOL. We’re waiting for Alaethia to be discharged. Hopefully, in the next hour or so. I can’t wait to go home (and sleep!).

Oh my God! Congratulations!!!! Oh, wow! I cannot believe she is finally HERE! For real! This is amazing!! I was thinking of you and your family all this week! (I’m so, so sorry I missed everything–I’ve been out of the internet loop ever since the 19th from which point I’ve seriously been flying from one side of the Atlantic to the other.) Congratulations on your bundle of joy – a gift from God. Oh, what my sister would do to be in your shoes. My sister, whom I love very much (she’s also my best friend) is trying to get pregnant with her first child. I think my heart would break for her, if she couldn’t get what she desires the most. If I had to, I’d carry her child – be a surrogate mom.
