Waiting
Just here waiting for the water/cinnamon stick to boil for the atole de arroz I’m making for Mario’s breakfast. I have an appointment first thing in the morning and have to get all my “morning things” done right now. So, I already ironed Mario’s clothes, am making breakfast so he’s not in a hurry, and I still have to wash the few dishes in the sink, take a shower, and finish packing his lunchbag. Whew.
I’ve done some progress on emptying out my inbox. Call it a “winter cleaning” if you will. I had about 350 e-mails in there–most being Greymatter comment notifications from the past couple of months
. I get so behind! I’m down to 200
. I’m hoping to tackle the rest of it tomorrow and also add a few things to the site. (That should be another New Year’s Resolution…keeping up with E-mail!) Gotta add that shrimp cocktail recipe and am also going to add the atole de arroz recipe. We had shrimp cocktail again today
. Mary wanted more so she bought all the stuff for it and I helped her with it. I could live on that stuff. ![]()
I actually got some chores and online stuff done…if only I could do that all the time! It seems like there’s never enough time to be online anymore
.
Mmm…I can smell the cinnamon in the air
. Gonna check on the rice.

I really like this new (ok, so it’s been awhile, heh) layout! It’s so cute.

You have your recipes section up! 😀
I need to try the atole de arroz soon, plus the chicken & smashed potatoes…I want to really try the shrimp cocktail too, later on when all the ingredients we have left over in the house (from pre-Christmas baking) are gone and we buy more stuff from the grocery store (you know, apart from the things to have on hand daily like milk).
Have you ever tried antipasto?…I mean the kind that comes in a bottle (not Italian antipasto in general) in a tomatoey sauce with all kinds of vegetables and usually tuna? I wonder if the shrimp cocktail is in any way similar. It’s yummy – I think I shall go have some for supper 😛
