I’m getting a few minutes to blog while Alaethia’s in her between-asleep-and-awake-state and the boys are watching Power Rangers. They need to go to bed soon, so I need to keep an eye on the clock.

I thought I was going to have to go into town yesterday to leave Mario’s truck payment, but I ended up setting up an online account right on time and deposited at the bank right on time. God, I love technology. We pay just about every payment we have online and that ROCKS.

I spoke to Paul for a while (wait no, that was on Tuesday, now that I remember). They’re having a really hard time right now and immediately felt incredibly humbled for complaining about my mediocre problems. I got to speak to Mayra, too, which is always awesome. We had lots of catching up to do. She’s having a hard time right now as well. Really, everyone I know isn’t having an easy time right now. Must be something in the darn water =\.

I made dinner yesterday evening (meatloaf — totally have to add that recipe — and mashed potatoes) and we all got ready to go to Jorge and Maggie’s right after Mario got home. All of us except Eenan, who had already made plans to sleep over at Mary’s, as usual. It’s like that kid isn’t even ours anymore =\.

We got there and Mario stayed outside with the men while Aly, Jaylen and I went inside with Maggie. She wasn’t feeling too good since she’d overdone it with mixed drinks the night before, so we decided to go for a walk. I took Alaethia, Jaylen stayed with Jorgie and Justin who were being supervised by the men.

It was a nice night out, if you don’t count the humidity, but it wasn’t boiling hot like it usually is and there weren’t any mosquitoes. We had some catching up to do so we spent the whole walk talking. Alaethia loved it. She was quiet and really cheerful the whole time. My arms didn’t get tired at all (we forgot her stroller), surprisingly. It didn’t even feel like a long walk, and it was. That’s what I need, to have someone to walk with so it doesn’t seem like “work”. Anyway, we checked out a few of the new two-story houses that are being built in their neighborhood and some of them actually have really nice floorplans. If we could afford it I’d totally want to snatch up one of the few lots that are available in their area. They’re going REALLY fast!

We went to the store and got some junk food and caught up some more. We sat outside with the men for a while after Alaethia fell asleep. She woke up pretty quickly and after she had a giggling fit with Miller, their cat, we came home. I’d finally gotten her to fall asleep “early” the night before, at 12:45 (and then she woke up at 5am for a bottle) so I didn’t want to ruin it but we didn’t end up getting home till 1:20am or so. Jaylen was already asleep and Alaethia fell asleep shortly after. Since she’d fallen asleep a little later last night she didn’t wake up for her first bottle till 8am. I would have had a lovely night’s sleep except that Mom’s transportation service to her doctor’s appointments called at 4am and then at 5:30. The nerve! What are they doing awake so darn early?!

Mario left to work and I tried napping but that was quite unsuccessful. I gave up and made some coffee and once Mom got here from her appointment I bathed Alaethia and then took a shower myself. I’d thought of going over to Maggie’s since she’s at home now, but I couldn’t get ahold of her. Instead John and I went to the salon so I could get “waxed”. I admit it. I get my upper lip waxed. It’s not like I have a handlebar mustache or anything, but I did have some peach fuzz that I’ve always hated. It’s the second time I do it (first time was for Noelia’s wedding; I got brave after everyone else did it LOL) and I should have just gone back with my friend Mayra H. instead of this place (which was the same place that took forever when I got my hair done for Noelia’s wedding).

The lady put scalding hot wax on my skin 3 different times and it hurt like hell. Doesn’t help that my skin’s extremely sensitive. John was laughing his ass off, reveling in the fact that my eyes were watering involuntarily and that I was suffering. We’d gotten this idea to record our conversations in the car with my digital camera but left it off when we went into the salon. I regret not keeping it on. John said the lady was reusing my “scraps” of wax and started creeping me out saying they probably reuse the scraps for everyone. I still don’t want to believe him. My face could have been exposed to other women’s facial (and GOD, OTHER) hair. That’s just wrong!

We turned the camera back on and had some interesting/retarded conversations. The camera was focused on my radio and center console the whole time. The videos are pretty dumb. We’re still debating whether we should put them on Youtube.

We went to Mario’s work to drop his wallet off to him. Then he sent us to Stripes to get him a drink and then John insisted that I empty my 1 Gig SD card so he could record some more. Good thing I had my laptop with me. It’s so awesome having this machine. How I wish we had it during our vacation at Disneyworld in 2004 :(. I would have had so many more pictures from that time!

(Aww, Alaethia’s cracking up. Jaylen’s rubbing his hair on her hand and she loves that. OH! And she’s been trying to crawl! She’d been getting on all fours since she was at least 4 1/2 months old, but now she’s rocking back and forth and kind of pulls herself on her belly when she’s trying to reach something. She’s growing so quickly. And she just strides along in her walker. I can’t believe she does so well for 5 months, 2 weeks!)

I wanted to go get John a ticket for Order of the Phoenix tomorrow but he’s counting on Mom not getting here on time from her doctor’s appointment (yes, another one). I told him she’s definitely going to be back on time and he’s going to miss out, but he didn’t want to go. We went to H-E-B to get a few things we each needed and then came home. And I’ve been here pulling my hair out because of my sons ever since. These boys are constantly fighting but as soon as I separate them they end up right back together again. And the mess! They leave toys strewn all over the place. I have them clean up and it ends up the same in another area 5 minutes later. I’ve given up for today. Why do I bother cleaning, again?

And also, I’ve decided I need to go on a diet. Not a diet diet, I just need to start eating less junk food and start jogging or at least doing exercises that I can include Alaethia in. I’m 3 lbs. heavier than I was AFTER I’d lost the weight 4 days after I had Alaethia and that’s NOT cool. I need to give up sodas (which just eff up my whole digestive system whenever I drink one…as delicious as Cherry Pepsi is…). I need to do this. I’m going to start…

Right after I finish that last tub of Smores ice cream…

The Wedding, the Husband, the Friends

Seems like forever, again, since I last updated with an actual “update”. The last time I made a decent post was last Wednesday, over a week ago. I mentioned that September would be around the time we wouldn’t have anything to worry about…I was wrong. That’s the month of Yazmin’s Quinceañera! Thank God we don’t have as much to do in it as we did with the wedding. All I have to worry about is buying a cute, inexpensive dress.

Anyway, the boys had their dentist appointments that afternoon (no cavities! And they did really well!) and then I went to pick up my dress for the wedding at the alterations place. I was really happy with how it came out. Everything I wanted the lady to do for me, she did well.

I don’t remember much from Thursday. It wasn’t until Friday that we were running around doing, literally, the last-minute things. We all went (including Mom) to pick up the tuxes. All my boys looked so handsome. After that we ate at Burger King, because we’d promised the boys then went to get everyone’s haircuts. Except mine. Mine I was keeping long for the wedding.

Mayra did a great job on the kids; Jaylen wanted his hair spiky so spiky he got it. It stayed really nice. Eenan got his usual “mushroom cut” and Mario just got a trim since he’d forgotten about the wedding and had shaved his head a few weeks ago. Mayra did a GREAT job on Mom’s hair. I called it Superstar hair, it looked so nice. And me, for the first time ever, I got waxing done. I thought it was going to hurt like hell, because that’s what everyone always tells me, but it wasn’t bad at all.

We went home and then just chilled out over at Mary’s. They were filling the mint baggies and little hexagon-shaped boxes with peanuts. I looked at the clock and remembered I hadn’t bought any jewelry to go with my dress. I didn’t want to go, but I really had nothing to wear. We had two hours to get to the mall (we live half an hour away) and Mario decided to throw a fit about watching Alaethia. They’d already stuffed my Equinox full of junk for the wedding, so there was no way I’d be able to take Alaethia in her car seat if I tried. So I left her, to his great displeasure, but I didn’t care. She’s his daughter, too, dammit.

John accompanied Mom and I. We got the jewelry we needed, which was fake and still cost $14.50, dammit. Add to that the eyeshadow I bought and it came out to over $20. Not cool. We walked around a bit more, then went home.

I had so much crap to do that night I was as stressed out as Noelia was, and let me tell you: she was STRESSED. At 11:30pm I was raising the hem on a pair of Noelia’s new jeans she was taking with her to her honeymoon. After everything else I had to do I didn’t fall asleep till 2am.

And then I had to be up by 8:30 the next morning since our hair appointments were at 9. Didn’t start out as a good day. First, they gave me the wrong directions to the salon, which stressed me the hell out since I hadn’t bothered to stop for gas because I thought I was going to go straight there and I was going to put gas after. I thought I was going to stay stranded. But no, I eventually found it.

I ask them to let me see books for ideas on hairdo’s and a woman points me to a large stack of magazines. Regular magazines. She expected me to flip through each one and somehow magically find a hair style I liked. Didn’t happen. After pouting and feeling like I was on the verge of tears I finally decided to just do one of the hair styles Mary had printed out.

Noelia, on the other hand, was stressing and crying because the darn women never hurried up. They’d given 6 other women appointments at 9am, too, which equaled to 9 of us. That was pretty damn stupid since there was only 3 cosmetologists there in all. They didn’t let Noelia up there till 10:20, Mary at 10:25 and me at 10:30. Thankfully the woman doing my hair did a really good job, or else I think I would have dropped out of the wedding, I was that pissed already. She added some little jewels to my hair (which cost me $1.50 each and there was 6) and doused me in glitter. I was pretty thrilled with the results and saw it as a good omen for the rest of the day.

Before I Massacred It

This picture was taken at 2am, right before I took out all the pins holding it together. It was much less frizzy than that and much more glittery.

I stopped to get gas after my hair was done then stopped by dollar general to get a spray bottle (I still had to do Mom’s hair) and some hair spray for Jaylen’s spikes. I got home, bathed Alaethia, did Mom’s hair, Mario helped get the boys ready, I got my makeup done and helped Noelia with hers, got my clothes on, helped Mario with his bow tie, got Aly ready and after standing around taking in how awesome everyone looked we left to the church.

My Men

Mama and Aly

Everything came to a halt at the church. The Deacon that was doing the wedding messed everything up and was completely rude. He was trying to change the chart they’d originally given Noelia when we were practicing on Tuesday. There were things here and there that were changed as well, like when Mario and I were supposed to go up to do the readings. We were supposed to go after they sang a certain song. Well, there came a point where everyone was hissing and whispering to us that it was our turn, so there we go and read. We did really well, then went back to sit. AND THEN they started singing the song. Darnit.

The boys did really good when walking down the isle; Eenan held onto the little ring pillow and did really good when he was walking up to give them the rings and Jaylen did a great job ringing the bell before Noelia walked. There was a part where the Deacon was saying a really nice story about two little birds he’d seen the night before and how to him they represented Noelia and Andy but he kept saying TUNDER instead of Thunder, so everyone was snickering and suppressing laughs. Mario looked at me when I was standing with Aly in the isle near a window (she’d begun to shriek) and made me laugh, then mouthed, “STOP IT!” as if I was the one who started it!

When it was over we all walked out and gave our congrats to Andy and Noelia and then it began to drizzle so we hurried up and got in the car. We stopped by the house to pick something up, I changed Aly’s diaper because she pooped and then we left to the reception.

We sort of just chilled out and I took my camera with me but I regretfully didn’t get too many pictures since there was so much going on. I got complimented on my dress and hair several times, which was a nice boost of confidence. I was, however, incredibly uncomfortable. Since I carried Alaethia around most of the night, she kept shifting my dress and I felt like my boobs were going to fall out every few seconds. I didn’t get one picture of the 5 of us together, which was really depressing, so I can’t wait to get the photo from their photographer. The boys kept throwing fits every few minutes because they took those darn DS’s with them so they got confiscated about an hour into the reception. We chilled out with Mayra and Manny, Maggie and Jorge, and an old friend of Mario’s, Patty and her husband, Eric.

I was ready to call it a night by 12. I hadn’t slept well in 2 weeks, since the kids had been sick, so as I expected my fatigue caught up with me that night. Alaethia hadn’t been able to sleep that whole night because of the music so she was moody and the boys were ready to hit the sack, too. I said goodbye to everyone and got ready to leave, but Mary asked me to wait for them to put stuff in my truck. I grudgingly obliged and put Pokemon DVDs on, a gift from Andy to the boys for being Junior Groomsmen, to keep them occupied. When Alaethia’s lungs sounded like they’d absolutely explode from crying so much, I called Mario (who was sticking around to drink with friends and relatives) and asked him what was going on; why were we still waiting half an hour later. He came out with boxes and told me his Mom forgot I was waiting. Grr. I leave, and when we’re halfway home I get a call telling me to go back to the ballroom because Yazmin had left Mary’s keys to her car in my purse. Lovely. I was not in a good mood, was falling asleep on the way home and still had to get all the crap out of my hair and wash it. Poor Alaethia fell asleep as soon as I laid her on the couch and the boys fell asleep not long after. Needless to say, I didn’t fall asleep till 3am that night.

We woke up nice and late the next morning and had lunch at Denny’s. It was the first day of Mario’s vacation and we decided, since we were broke and weren’t having much of a vacation this summer, that we’d at least have one day of fun. We had a delicious breakfast/lunch then went home. We waited around a bit and then met everyone at the theatre to watch Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer. I’m not a HUGE fan of Fantastic 4, and I thought Jessica Alba looked extremely different in this movie, but it was good. The boys had a blast and Mario did, too, since Jessica Alba’s in it.

We didn’t do much the rest of the week. Jorge invited us to lunch at Taqueria el Molcajete in Mission on Monday, before he left back to Arizona on Tuesday to check on his house to get ready to sell it. We went grocery shopping that day, and Mario was amazed by my budgeting skillz. I went with John to Target on Wednesday, where I bought diapers and a few things for Alaethia (with my Target Visa, which we didn’t want to have to do, since by this time we were already broke).

Yesterday in the evening I met the girls, Sally, Kristina, Karina, and Carmen, for coffee at Moonbeans. It was great hanging out with them and having some laughs. Even Pete stopped by really quick since he works in the same building.

We caught up with what we’ve been doing lately and discussed people we knew in middle school/high school and what they’re doing, who they married, etc. We met at 6pm and I didn’t end up coming home till 10, which surprised Mario LOL. He kept calling me, not to check up but to see if I’d make it to a bar-b-q at Chris’.

We even had a bit of an adventure. Men kept walking up to our table; first one asked if we’d like to buy official Jerseys, the other asked if we had a dollar for gas O_o. The next one was packed with luggage and asked if we’d give him a ride to the airport. We all kinda looked around and pretended we couldn’t hear him. Then he said that if he didn’t make his flight to Mexico, he wouldn’t see his daughter graduate from Kindergarten. Aww. So we all went together (in my truck since I thought it was the biggest but Karina said it was the same size as her car) and hauled ass to get him to the airport in 15 minutes. We were all really nervous, as we were giving this strange man a ride. At one point I see him reaching for his back pocket and my heart sank. I couldn’t help but laugh when I look in the rear view mirror and see Sally with her purse strap, ready to strangle if need be, and Karina with her cell phone in the air, in case she needed to knock him out LOL. He was reaching to get a $20 he’d promised for driving him (which is a lifesaver because I can’t tell you just how broke we are). We made it with, like, 3 minutes to spare, if even that. We stopped by the mall after that for a pee stop then went back to Moonbeans, where we chatted some more and inhaled the weird popcorn smell that was in the air. I think a building was burning, or something–there were cops and fire trucks about a block down from where we were.

It was great. Hope to do it again. I’m so glad that after all these years, I can get together with those crazy girls and still laugh and talk like we used to in middle school (and in the case of Sally and Kristina, since elementary!). I was a little annoyed as I kept being referred to as “Mother Teresa” since apparently I’m still thought of as the sweet, goody-two-shoes I was back then, but other than that, I had a blast :).

As for today, we chilled out watching Little Man and eating half a bag of Reese’s mini cups. We didn’t even do any of the work we were going to do on the bathroom and it’s the last day of Mario’s vacation. I think we’ll just return all the stuff, because, knowing us, we won’t ever do it!

Going to take mom to the store real quick. This woman’s still having problems with all the pills she has to take. And Alaethia is happily rolling towards me in her walker. She’s so big already *sniff*. 5 whole months and she’s already drinking for sippy cups and is trying to crawl!

Memorable Monday and Techie Tuesday

Started Monday by dropping John off at work and taking the kids to get haircuts. We totally forgot to take them on Friday and had things to do over the weekend so we didn’t have time. Most places are closed Sunday and Monday over here but thankfully Manny’s wife, Mayra’s, shop was open. She did a great job on the kids’ hair, thank goodness. Got them home and had them take showers and then I got to cleaning. I wanted to get together with Sally since it was her day off, but I knew if I didn’t start on the chores I wasn’t going to do them LOL.

The family drama that was going on over the weekend branched off into and got worse on Monday. So much so that big changes happened, such as the whole back yard got a thorough cleaning and Mario’s Chevelle is now parked in front of Mom’s apartment (the drama had nothing to do with Mario, however). It got crazy. I called Sally and we made plans to meet at 5:30. Crazy girl would not let me drive to McAllen–I feel so bad that she drives all the way over here when we get together!

I went to my appointment at 4, accompanied by John, who wanted the scoop on the drama since he had no idea what was going on. I figured once I’m done at my appointment, I’d get home and shower and blow dry/flat iron my hair so I can look decent for once. There was a big discussion going on about the drama over at Mary’s, and since I was too busy listening to the details I didn’t get a chance to get spiffy, heh.

Sally gets here around 6pm and we make plans about where to eat while on the road. We chit chat some more and then she tells me she has a surprise for me. She mentions something about “him” and I look at her, wide-eyed thinking to myself Woman, I am married!

Turns out she invited our childhood friend, Pete, to join us for dinner at Chilli’s. This was so awesome; I hadn’t seen Pete since 2001, when I ran into him at a gas station and I was a month pregnant with Jaylen, and before that, since I left McAllen in ’97.

We waited for him and got seated when he arrived. It was so nice seeing him and I kept thinking how great it was that after all these years, at the ages of 24, there we all were having dinner and great conversation. He’s the same Pete I knew back when we were little, albeit older and wiser :).

We reminisced about childhood and we laughed about how, in 3rd grade, Pete would come over to my house and he’d patiently listen to me sing Little Mermaid songs and we’d usually look for bones, because we were archaeologists don’tcha know? Who knows exactly what we were digging up, probably a chicken or possum, but darnit, we were determined to put them back together :P.

We talked about people we grew up with who are together now, what some of them are doing and those we haven’t seen. I don’t remember if I asked, or if either one of them brought it up, but we talked about Freddy S. and how I hadn’t heard anything about him. Sally couldn’t put the name to the face and I said, “Freddy, remember? He had a crush on me since like, Kinder, or something?” and Pete says, “Who didn’t have a crush on you?”

I was kind of shocked and flattered, but I’m still not sure if it was true or if he was being sarcastic LOL. If it’s true, do you know what that does for my self-esteem? Boys had crushes on me before I had boobs, so they had to like me for me and not my breasts!

Sally and Pete shared details about their recent breakups and asked me about parenting. We talked about life in general and here and there they’d mention a party that they’d attended back in high school, or the years after that. I felt a tiny pang of sadness, almost a jealousy that life had gone on without me after I left. At the time I knew everyone would move on, of course they would, but I still sort of naively wished life would be put on hold till I could somehow return to McAllen. It was a tad bit heartbreaking to hear about these parties, but I found comfort in the thought that now that we’ve gotten back in touch, we can have new parties where I’m included :). Pete said that maybe after I’m “on my feet” after I have the baby, we can get together for a bar-b-q or something with some of our old friends and so everyone can meet Mario. I can’t wait for that :).

We continued to have even more great conversation and I just had a really fantastic time catching up with my old buddies. Mario called around 8pm to let me know he was out of work. I told him we were at Chilli’s and would he like to pick me up so Sally wouldn’t have to make the long trip to our house and then back home. He said sure, he’d be there in 15 minutes.

The darn waiter took forever coming around (and may I add, he and another girl screwed up Sally’s order twice and he brought me really shitty mango tea), so we couldn’t ask for the darn check. Since Mario had already gotten there, and the waiter hadn’t, Pete offered to pay for my meal. I told him no, I just needed to remember how much it was. He said he planned on paying for both our meals but I felt so guilty. Since Mario was already there and I felt a little rushed, I agreed to him paying for my meal, but darnit, I still feel guilty LOL. How very nice of him, though. He’s always been a gentleman.

Sally walked me out and she and Mario said hello and we had a bit more chit chat before cars started lining up behind us.

I talked Mario’s ear off all the way home about what a great night I had. Since Mom had fed the kids we picked up dinner for Mario at McDonald’s. We spent some time with the kiddos and then I got them ready for bed for school the next day. I prayed for the best since the night before Jaylen was still waking up with excuses why he couldn’t sleep till around 12am. I think they were so tired from being up so early and taking no naps that they stayed asleep all night that night.

I took a shower and then Mario and I watched TV in the bedroom. We snuggled and had Alone Time :). We have to get as much Alone Time in as we can since Alaethia will be here soon!

I slept really well that night, for once. I got up to pee one time and that was it. Wish that would always happen!

I got the kids ready for school the next day, Tuesday. After being on break for almost 3 weeks, they were exceptionally well-behaved and got ready in record time. After dropping them off and making breakfast for Mario I rested. I waited for Roadrunner guy. I would have updated about Monday that morning, but the friggin’ internet kept shutting off as soon as I’d sit at the computer (no kidding!).

I got a call from the nurse that Eenan had pee accident at 10:50. I take him a change of clothes and ask him, “What happened, Dude? Why’d you have an accident?” He says, “Well, I had an itch on my Weedos and I can’t scratch in class so I had to do SOMETHING about it!” I surpress a laugh and tell him, “Eenan! You can ask to go to the bathroom, you know! You don’t have to pee in your pants!”

After walking him to class and lecturing him on how it’s not cool to pee your pants to relieve an itch I go back home. The Roadrunner guy is already waiting for me when I get here. He works on the problem (an old wire he has to replace all around the house) and Mom stays here while I go pick up Jaylen. He had a great first day back.

Someone’s at the door and yay, it’s my new keyboard for my cell phone! I have an absolute fit with it since my phone’s cradle isn’t being read by the USB for some reason. I end up having to reinstall everything, install the keyboard’s drivers and sync everything to my phone and I finally figure the keyboard out at 3. I pick up Eenan and Brandon from school, where I quickly typed up an entry and it gets erased. Lovely. I try it out again and it works! I’m wondering if it works better on a flat surface since I was having trouble with it in the truck?

After making sure Eenan starts on his homework, Mom takes over and John and I leave to JC Penny. I have no desire to actually go, but I need to find something to wear for my baby shower.

I have the hardest time finding something nice. Scratch that, I have a hard time finding something that FITS! They don’t make extra-small in the darn maternity section of JC Penny (or so, I’ve never seen any) and size small just hangs on me and looks baggy.

After trying on two black dresses and stomping out of the fitting rooms John says, “What happened? Oh, they don’t make size midget.” Grr. I admit, I laughed, it was funny. But my hand was balled up into a fist at my side. He kept joking about how I was going to attach a hanger to his tear duct when I got tired of him and smacked him with one. It was so tempting!

After about an hour of moping around and looking through all the crappy clothes, I finally find size small in the only blouse I actually liked. And it fit! I had to get a tan colored cami for it but I had matching pants at home, so yay. I hated spending $35 on those clothes, though, especially since I’ll probably only get to wear it once!

I get some cute t-shirts for the boys and muscle shirts Mario needed. I’ll be returning them though, since they’re super long and he didn’t like that =\.

We walked around the mall. I told John I probably wouldn’t be able to walk too much since my back was killing me and Alaethia’s head was making it hard to walk these days. We go to Hot Topic. They had such cute onesies with cute skulls on them and I fell in love with some cute little hotpink shoes John said he’d totally buy her. We get John’s Proactive stuff and continue to walk around. I can’t stand the pain and realize I’m an hour late in taking the antibiotic for my ear infection. John wants a Vanilla Caramel Avalanche from Gloria Jean’s so we go. I didn’t want to wait any longer to take my medication so I buy a raspberry tea. Grossest tea I’ve ever had in my life, but oh well, I needed to take the darn pill. As we’re walking back it dawns on me that I might not make it back to car–my belly feels really low and heavy and my legs feel like they’ve turned to stone. We slow down, a lot and I somehow miraculously make it to the car, which was parked on the other side of the mall. As I’m driving I feel pain whenever she moves. It seriously feels like there’s no room left in there.

I pick up and take Mario some junk food he requested from Stripes. I get down and go to the truck he’s working on since he never turned around to notice we were there. I joke around with him about losing his tools since he just dumped them there on the floor of the customers, Cesar’s, car. Cesar approaches the car as I’m lecturing him (playfully mostly) and Mario tells him, “This is why I work, man–so I don’t have to hear her nagging.” Dork. I chill out for a few more minutes while he teases a co-worker who he calls Frodo. He’s the one who bought the Prelude off of us. He’s already done stuff to it and is getting ready to paint it!

John and I joke and laugh all the way home and I’m super exhausted when we get here. I’m surprised to find a Target package on the table. It’s from Diana!! She got Alaethia some adorable receiving blankets from my Registry. You don’t know how much I appreciate this, hun!! I’m so touched I still can’t find the words to express myself correctly. Thank you so much, you’re the sweetest!

From Diana to Alaethia!

Mom was still here when I opened the package and said, “How nice! You need to send her a thank you!” She was so shocked and interested that someone I met online and lives a continent away could possibly send me a gift. She’s as touched as I am :).

Later in the evening, when the boys were in bed and Mario was going to go for a drive to have a cigarette, he went into the closet and pulled out his old No Fear sweatshirt. I loved that sweatshirt; he’d wear it when we were back in highschool. Only before, he was so buff he filled it out. It almost looked like it was too tight. He’s stopped working out since then and has reverted back to his cut, but skinny self.

He emerges from the hallway with his arms at each side–the thing is hanging off of him. I surpress a laugh and say, “It looks…alright,” when he asks me how it looks. I can’t hold my laugh in anymore when he looks in the full length mirror in the bathroom and has a sad expression on his face. I’m wheezing from laughing so much and he turns and scowls at me. I stop laughing long enough to say, “Aww, look at your little neck!!” He bursts out laughing too, turns and goes back into our bedroom. He’s wearing another sweater and stands in the hallway to ask for approval. I say, “That looks better!” and he throws the No Fear sweater at me. I say, “Hey! I’m just saying it’s more flattering to your…physique!” We both laugh hysterically, only he’s laughing at how amusing I’m finding this and I’m laughing at how hard he’s taking it. He starts poking me in my sides and says, “You’re supposed to be my wife! Till death do us part!”

I wish I’d been taking video. It was so hilarous. My little skinny husband LOL.

Ooh, I’m having a contraction. And I need to start on dinner so I’ve gotta run!
