My 31st Birthweek!

Of course I’m typing this up a month later than it actually happened! But it was such a AMAZING birthday I just have to document it! It was especially amazing because we didn’t have anything planned since Jorge and I both worked Saturday and neither of us had gotten Monday off. And my kiddos were at Mario’s for the weekend =\.

This post will be photo-heavy, as our adventures could be told with pics alone.

I’ll start from April 9th, 5 days before my birthday, when Jorge gave me the charms he went and picked at Kay Jeweler’s and Pandora, all by himself during his lunch hour :*). He even paid in cash so I wouldn’t see it on our bank account! He was seriously like an excited kid: jumping up and down and texting me randomly that he couldn’t WAIT to show me my gifts. And then he brought them out that night LOL.

Another gift!! He couldn't wait till Sunday hehe :)

Early birthday present from my love!! What he did during his lunch hour :*). Thank you, @jdbueno!!

Love them! My bracelet is now halfway full!

On Friday, April 12th, the entire staff had lunch at Tony Roma’s, courtesy of our boss and the owner of Tony Roma’s himself. That was pretty darn awesome. We closed down the office and everything.

We got ready to celebrate Sally’s birthday that evening (which is the 13th, the day before mine :)). Carlos had organized a surprise birthday party for her at Kobe Sushi. Jess met us there, too, and we waited for the guest of honor :).

My beffies and I!

She was simply stunning in all her 9-month pregnant glory!

Speaking of, you would have never guessed Jessica has a baby (much less 3!)!!

Jorge had begun the Keto Diet about a week before this, so he was watching what he ate and drank. He ordered sashimi, absolutely nothing carby (well, except a Michelob Ultra, heh). I was being mindful, but I still had sushi and a drink hehe.

Cucumber martini

Jorge, Jess and I chit-chatted; Sally and Carlos were on the other side of the grills so it was difficult to chat. We got to get up and chat once everyone was getting ready to go. The night was still young, so we made plans with Jess to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. We joked that we were starting my birthday celebration early :). We talked, ranted and just had a good time :). I still wasn’t much in the mood for drinking, so I only had one Margarita.

Happy early birthday to me :)!

My honeybuns and I :)

The next day was our BBQ Cook-Off at work. The day went by fast since I switched stations several times and the weather was AMAZING!!

My love and Marco stopped by to have lunch, which was great :).

5:30pm rolled around and our boss appointed me as “trophy girl” LOL. I wasn’t too into it, seeing as how one of the band’s band members had been staring at me the entire event and eventually told EZ that he wanted my number. To which EZ replied, “No way dude, she’s got kids and is married.” Not even that deterred him -_-.

Luckily, Wally took over most of the handing out of trophies (with the occasional one our boss wanted me to stand in on). Then it was 6pm, clean-up time, time for our 2nd annual group photo and then we got to leave home.

Jorge was on his way home, as it was “Night at the Brew-seum” and his company was one of the sponsors. He’d been working on this for the last few days and he said I was going to be amazed.

After we got ready (surprisingly fast for me!), we left in his car, and when we arrived one of his guys told him they’d forgotten a remote they needed. So back home we go, with Jorge muttering profanities, heh. We got the key to the van that the remote was in and when we opened the van…it wasn’t there! Then Jorge’s VIP tickets hadn’t arrived because his bosses hadn’t arrived. So he spoke to their marketing guy and all was well. Jorge got everything running manually, just in time! And man, was I amazed with he and his guys’ work!! Everyone was!

One of my honey's set-ups

The rest of the night was the complete opposite of our hectic, high-energy start. It was a nice night out, the food was amazing, there was a Vineyard for people who don’t drink beer like me :).

A Night at the Brew-seum

From Alberico Fine Wines

Love House.Wine!!

Best. Ice cream sandwich. Ever!!

I tried so much great food, but seriously, this ice cream sandwich from House.Wine was THE BEST DAMN THING EVER!!

Jorge enjoyed trying all these different types of beers, and we had some good laughs with the guys. I got to chit-chat with Jorge’s bosses for a while, too, so that was nice. Selene congratulated Jorge on such a great job and told him he deserved the day off on Monday!! Woohoo!!!

My love and I at Brew-seum

I also ran into tons of people I’ve met through work, Audrey’s parents, and Jeramie, but by then my darn phone was low and my flash wasn’t working so we didn’t get a photo together :(.

Jorge and I stayed late, since he and his guys had to pack up their equipment, but we didn’t stay for the VIP after party. We were beat! And we had a lunch date with my kiddos for my birthday the next day so we needed to be nice and rested :).

We decided on Dairy Queen. I had my favorite, a Reese’s ice cream cake. The kids loved it, too :).

Reese's ice cream cake!

With my babies on my birthday :*)

My love and I on my birthday :)

We ate and laughed and just had a nice time :). We dropped them off and went home, and I made some coffee while we caught up on The Voice episodes.

Catching up on The Voice with some hazelnut coffee before we head out :).

Jorge said, “Let’s go to the beach. Right now. Let’s get a room.” I had a 20% off coupon for La Copa Inn at the beach from work, so it was perfect! We set up a reservation, packed, and were on our way :). I was already having such a great birthday; I didn’t think it could get any better! I texted my boss that I wouldn’t be in on Monday and he ok’d it :).

We sang out hearts out as we drove. It was great :). It was dark by the time we reached the island and we were starving since we didn’t really have lunch. We wanted to try Dirty Al’s, but they were closed so we went to Daddy’s. The atmosphere changed a lot since they moved locations, but the food was AWESOME:

My plate!

My love's giant plate!!!

We had tons of food leftover. It was safe to say Jorge was “carbing up” that weekend hehe.

We went to our hotel and checked in. The room was so nice!

Our awesome room!

We watched Game of Thrones for a bit and then a movie. Then we decided to take a midnight stroll on the beach :).

A midnight stroll :)

We got back and took full advantage of all the amenities of the room, heh. And it was truly one of the best nights of sleep at a hotel that I’ve had.

We had breakfast at the hotel the next morning and took our time checking out. We drove around a while, visited a few shops like Tuesday Morning, and called to do the horseback riding but were too late for the morning one and a few hours early for the next one. We decided to just take another stroll on the beach to get some exercise.

The Gulf :)

We walked at least 3 miles. We decided that was plenty and were ready to go home. We wanted to catch a movie before we had to get home to the girls.

We hadn’t had lunch, and we’d never been to Padreritaville, so we stopped by to have some appetizers and a drink. Our waitress was so sweet and had such a great time chit-chatting we actually stayed for quite a long while!

It's 5 o'clock somewhere! With @jdbueno

Our lunch hehe

Smokey!!

I made a quick trip to the ladies room and by the time I got back, there was a huge slice of chocolate cake and a crown waiting for me :). How awesome!!

Chocolate cake and priness crown on Baylee, our wonderful waitress!!

We finished up, talked about how awful the Boston Marathon Bombings were. We’d been sitting right there when the news started announcing the tragedy.

As we drove home we saw a house with tons of bougainvilleas for sale. There were even some red ones!!

My favorites!

Jorge stopped by and got me my final birthday presents, one red and one medium pink bougainvillea!

We got home to the girls and just enjoyed the rest of the evening :). It was truly one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had, ever!

And it didn’t stop that day. Michelle treated me to lunch the next day and the guys joined us :).

Lunch!

Shells treated me to lunch :)

Again: Best. Birthday. EVER!! So blessed with all the wonderful people in my life!!

Thanksgiving 2012, 2-year Anniversary, and Everything in Between

It’s almost Christmas (OMG!) and I’ve been stalling updating this thing. So, with that said, here’s a Catch-Up Post with lots of pictures that should have actually been titled “The Longest Post In the History of the World” :).

Our Thanksgiving felt a little…rushed this year, probably because I undershot the time we’d need to prepare the food. John and Monique stopped by to drop off their homemade apple pie (aww!) and requested plates since they’d both be working this year =\. Then I rushed to pick up the kids, who were celebrating Thanksgiving at noon at Mario’s. (We’d be celebrating for dinner). But regardless, it was great and I was sincerely grateful for every little thing in my life, but mainly my family and wonderful kids ♥!

Keeping the kids occupied while we cooked:

The feast!

The spread (minus ham)

Can’t forget the ham!

Honey Glazed Ham

Everything was super delicious. Briana and the kids came over and ate and chilled out a bit. Then, when 8:30pm rolled around we got the kids in bed and asked Mom to babysit while Jorge and I went Black Friday Shopping. It was his first time doing it, ever. I was a bit skeptical about taking him along, but he said there was no way he was letting me out into the madness on my own, so he said he had no choice, heh.

Started at Walmart, where the cars were parked in the dirt nearing the street. Lines were ridiculously long, and we weren’t sure they’d have what we’d need, so we left to Target. The line was BEHIND THE STORE!! This is a huge Target, mind you. I wish I’d taken pictures. They were incredibly organized, though. By the time we got to the area to buy what we specifically went there for…they were OUT. I couldn’t believe it. So Jorge says, “Well. We’re already here. Let’s look around and see what else we find.” So, moping slightly, I follow him and see a man hauling THE ITEM. I had a feeling I should stick around. So I did. I pretended to read my ad as I inched closer. (Jorge told me later he thought I was going to mug the guy LOL). I could hear him on the phone talking to probably his wife, and he sounded unsure about taking the item. We make eye contact and he hangs up. He looks at me and says, in Spanish, “Hey. Do you want it?” I nod an enthusiastic YES and we put it into our cart. I couldn’t contain a *squee* and Jorge asked, “Ok, what happened?” and jokingly adds, “Did you show boob or something?! How did you do that??” I was thrilled. We picked up several more things (including a spiffy blender, woo!) and stood in an hour-long line that squiggled through the isles.

Next stop was Walmart (where what we went for didn’t even make it to the store!) and then Kmart. We found what we originally went to Walmart for and stood in line for another hour. We headed home about midnight, but were pretty happy. Jorge said it wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be and couldn’t believe how much we saved!

I went to bed, set my alarm for 4 hours later and planned to make it to HEB plus by 6am (BY MYSELF!), where I REALLY REALLY needed to purchase one of the kids’ gifts. Set the alarm, ate 2 bites of pecan pie for breakfast and ran out the door. The line went around the store behind the pharmacy. I made friends with 3 ladies, and they shared their ad with me in case I needed to run over to Walmart to price-match, heh. I found a map of the store that I’m assuming one of the employees misplaced and it told us exactly where everything was. Doors opened, I went straight to the place I needed to and got what I went for and then some. I was giddy with excitement! I couldn’t believe my good luck :). AND I got great deals on stuff I didn’t even expect to and got a $20 coupon to use the next day ^_^!

My kiddos left that evening for Mario’s, since it was his weekend. I bathed the girls and Emily had chills and then got a fever. I gave her Motrin and made sure she was nice and bundled up since it was drizzing outside. I told Mario to keep an eye on her; I just had a feeling she was on the road to a bad cold.

Sweetie Pies!!

Alaethia dressed herself, as you can see, heh.

I was so bored when the kids left. First Jorgie and Justin and then mine left. The house is so quiet and I kind of come to a standstill like, “Now what?” I was glad for John’s company, who stopped by to eat and pick up a plate for Monique. He listened to my Black Friday Shopping stories and we caught up about other stuff. He left and Jorge got home and we ate and watched TV :).

I did shopping and started on wrapping the next day and then on Sunday Jorge and I had brunch at Espi’s.

Brunch with my honey :)

We ordered the girls’ beds that day. Wouldn’t arrive for about 2 weeks. I was glad we went when we did; we got 2 different “Black Friday” discounts, $100 off for being customers so long, and 4 years no-interest (fk yes!) and we fell in love with the bed :).

Jorgie and Justin had been dumped (literally) at our house while we were out shopping, so thank God Mom was here. Jorge didn’t have his phone but had a feeling he should call them, and that just so happened to be when they were waiting outside our front door. Jesus. The woman can’t even wait to find out of they’ve made it safely inside.

We worked on the kids’ science projects the rest of the day (which included a walk to the empty lot down the streets where, for some reason, they have several different piles of roofing materials and we luckily found what Justin needed for his project). Closer to the evening Jorge started feeling really ill. He’d been complaining of a pain in his stomach but he doubled over and it scared the crap out of me. He rested after we made a run to Target to print the kids’ project photos and the kids and I continued on their project.

I talked to the kids and asked Mario how Emily was doing and if she needed to go to the doctor. Actually, I asked if she needed the doctor since the day before, but he said she was fine, feverish, but fine.

So when he brought her to me the next morning and it felt like her skin was on fire, I took her to the doctor immediately. Thank goodness I was using a vacation day. Jorge calls while we’re waiting and tells me he’s on his way to the doctor, too. His boss was taken-aback by his state and told him to come to the doctor ASAP. So there we were. 2 hours later, they were seen. He definitely had an infection and Emily was prescribed cough meds and Motrin. I asked, “Doesn’t she need some antibiotics?” Doc brushed it off and said, “Nah.” I had a bad feeling, but fine, I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he IS the doctor.

We got some food. Emily must have had a hard night, or the fever was making her lethargic, but she took a few spoonfuls of soup (that I fed her) and she fell asleep on my lap. It made me feel so sad. I can’t stand when my kids are sick and unlike themselves. I was angry at Mario for not taking her to the doctor sooner.

Emily and Jorge slept, and I went to pick Alaethia up from school. I spent that night placing cool, wet towels on Emily’s forehead and bathing her at midnight because her fever wouldn’t subside. I was so scared that I brought her to bed with me and she slept on my chest, like she did when she was a baby ♥. I got no rest, but was happy that she woke up without a fever.

Went to work, called the nurse and ordered an antibiotic for Emily, which Jorge picked up and gave her during lunch. He was feeling a tad better, too, thank God. Called Mom every hour or so to check how Emily was doing. There was a span of time where she didn’t have a fever at all.

I picked up cough drops for Emily and a new thermometer, since the newest one broke during the boys science projects and my old one’s battery was dying. I came straight to Emily’s room and checked her temp. She still looked so lethargic and unlike herself. Her temperature said 102.9, which I attributed to it being time for her fever reducers again. I stuck her in a cool bath immediately and gave her Tylenol AND Motrin and it broke my heart to see that she couldn’t even cry, she was so tired. Mom said she ate soup during her meals and drank plenty of water, but I was still afraid she’d become dehydrated. Jorge got home and saw that I was almost in tears, I felt helpless. Her fever was still at 102.6, even after a cool bath for half an hour. I put her in her bed and smoothed her hair from her face. Tears formed in the corner of her eyes and I swallowed back a lump in my throat and said, “Aw mama, don’t cry. You’ll get better.” My heart cracked into a million pieces when she slowly shook her head, letting me know that she didn’t think she’d ever get better. I dressed her up and we took her to her night doctor. It took about 30 minutes to be seen and when they checked her her temperature was still 101.3. The doctor said to keep doing the same thing, giving her Motrin and Tylenol together, keeping her hydrated, and cool baths, etc. She said the antibiotic would kick in by the next day. I decided to stay with her the next day, and to everyone’s relief she was better by the evening :). She even stuck around while I made dinner and asked to wash dishes, which she hadn’t done in days!

Yup, definitely back to her old self ?!!

Thursday was Cash Mob day…where we spend money at a locally-owned member’s business. I wasn’t looking forward to spending, as I was budgeting, but it was fun trying stuff on:

Shopping at the Boot Jack with the Cash Mob!

Went for my kiddos that evening and spent it helping Eenan with his science project. Luckily, we had all the photos and everything, just had to put everything together (and we still didn’t end up finishing till 11pm!).

December 1st was Quentin’s birthday party. The 2 eldest boys wanted to stay home, of course, so they stayed with Mom. Justin, Jaylen, Emily and Alaethia went with me. They had such a blast and didn’t want to leave. Sally really out-did herself with the theme (circus) and decorations and games!

We were supposed to go back to the party for Carlos’ surprise party Sally was throwing, but plans changed. Jorge went to Furniture Row to pick up the girls’ bed. Long story short: he lost the phone somewhere at the store, we went to the store to search for it, walked around the Expressway and came up with nothing. We tracked it (iPhone) and it showed that it was near the Expressway, so we hoped that someone found it and left it in the store.

We cleaned the house like crazy the next day; even the boys’ room was scrubbed top to bottom. We took a break to go to Furniture Row, where we called and THANK GOD, Jorge’s phone was safely waiting. The guy at the warehouse was nice enough to find it thrown in the parking lot and kept it at the store.

My love assembled the girls’ bed that night. All he asked for was an abundance of Peach Tea and football, heh.

All the kids loved it. Justin and Jaylen even asked for a similar bed, a fire truck LOL! Err, not gonna happen :P.

Since the girls’ mattresses hadn’t come in yet, we pushed in their old toddler bed mattresses, which they were quite happy about :).

Waiting on their Mattresses

The rest of the week was the usual; helping Alaethia with projects at the beginning of the week and events at work the ending of the week.

Wednesday was the Good Day Luncheon:

Good Day

Thursday my babies left to Mario’s and it was the All About Women event in the evening. It was a fun morning, even getting a visit from Santa and taking a group photo at work. I went to lunch with EZ, Laura, Michelle, and Bob Z. and then the worst thing in the world happened: I dropped my Galaxy SIII and the screen shattered into a million pieces! I was in shock!

I didn’t have time to be sad about it since Michelle and I were running errands for Gerry, like buying wine at H-E-B and buying balloons at JJ’s Party House. Then we helped decorate and so on and then it was time for the event. It was super packed and the Traveling Photo Booth made it even more fun. We took a billion pics! Even Sally and my Love got to make it at the end :).

Jorge and I were hungry, so since we were kidless we had dinner at Chili’s. It was nice to relax, just the two of us. Until JR. showed up and joined us a while LOL, but it was a quick catch-up visit and then he had a game to watch in the bar section. My love took this photo of me, almost make-up-less and tired, and posted this:

Yo quiero esta preciosa novia mía más que la vida 🙂 es mi mejor amiga y todo lo que alguien pudiera pedir en este mundo :*)

I love this precious girlfriend of mine more than life, she’s my best friend and everything anyone could ask for in this world.

He still surprises me after all this time :). I never knew my old friend Jorge to be so good with words (in English and Spanish!), or to be so sweet, heh. He’s the best!

We got home, relaxed and crashed out. I was excused from the all-day event that was happening on Saturday, since my love and I were heading to Brownsville for the day. Our Anniversary is November 18th, but we hadn’t had a chance to celebrate it till that day. And it was the best ever! We woke up, got ready and drove straight to Beef O’Brady’s for brunch, heh. The food is always great and what’s best about it is: it’s free!

On the House ;)

We stopped by Walmart to pick up some chairs and miscellaneous things for the 10-Man Jam concert :). We weren’t going to get to see all 10 artists, because we had plans to watch the Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight at Beef’s that night, but I was really looking forward to seeing Eden’s Edge :)!

Yeah, my hair was curly. I was too lazy to straighten it that morning, heh:

Thank you for a great 2nd Anniversary, baby!!!

By then it was too dark to get a good photo of the last group we saw, The Farm:

The Farm

I was a little sad that we didn’t get to see Lauren Alaina, Katie Arminger and several others, but we had a fight to watch! And what a fight it was! We had dinner (mostly appetizers LOL) and had an awesome dessert while we watched the most epic knockout ever!

The best sugar crash, ever!

We got to our hotel pretty happy :).

The next day, we woke up, got ready and checked out and were on a mission to find the closest Denny’s. Only, my Google maps was on crack or something ’cause it made us get lost 3 times in 3 different cities >_Heck yes!! Thank you @jdbueno !!

We had a pretty darn good beginning of December :).

Beach Day, Work and Food!

I’m not gonna lie. I just had the best homemade salad (didn’t get a pic ’cause I was STARVING, but it was baby spinach and mixed greens, feta cheese, bits of turkey slices, tomato, avocado and balsamic vinaigrette) and a perfectly ripe pear for lunch. I’ve been keeping up with eating homemade food at work. I BEST see that darn scale start showing smaller numbers! (Yes, I know I have to exercise. Darnit.)

Ok. So getting back to last Saturday…I would have finished that night but I was pretty delirious from sleepiness already and I had to go back and read the post the next morning because I had no idea what I’d written, heh.

So. My love left to work Saturday morning. We were still kidless (Mario picked up the kids on Wednesday for a week and Jorge’s boys mother FINALLY decided to pick them up either Tuesday or Wednesday; can’t remember when, but she was supposed to go since Sunday. ANYWAY.), so I kinda-sorta slept in. I knew I had to clean, visit Gramma, grocery shop and possibly set up a fishing trip appointment for the next day–if finances allowed after paying the bills. I really wanted to go, though. We had that 50% off coupon I’d bought and a little getaway sounded fantastic!

I had my Special K cereal and the best French vanilla coffee, ever. I read for about an hour (hey, I was enjoying the silence for once. I’m usually going crazy when the house is THAT QUIET). I paid our bills online, created budget and grocery list+budget, talked our fishing trip over with my Love and set the appointment, woo!! South Padre Island, here we come (tomorrow)!

Mom and I visited Gramma. We chilled out and laughed with her a while and then we made our way to H-E-B to get some groceries. I stayed within budget and got home and made myself a sandwich, since my sugar was dropping and I was beginning to shake.

I spoke to my babies, who’d been in Houston with their dad, and now they were on their way to Dallas to visit Adan and Aide. After everything, I still felt a small pang in my heart hearing ‘Dallas’ and their names. I know all they’ve said about me, all they think of me, but somewhere deep in my heart I fondly remember my old friend. And then I tell myself to quit being stupid and make myself remember all the ugly things. I know–I really need to quit doing that and just forgive and forget. Oh well, such is life.

My love got home early :D. I learned about some drama that was being ’caused by the ex (not mine, his). She pretended she was the boys texting him from their phone asking if they could stay the weekend and she’d pick them up Monday. So she could go out. How convenient . He said no because we had plans and OF COURSE that brought forth an avalanche of drama. She only had them a week in total last month and already was trying to get rid of them. Grrr.

Anyway. The guys were coming over to watch UFC, so Jorge and I got started on tidying up. We get this knock on the door and it’s some salesguys, wanting to do a demo. They presented us with this cheap little photo frame and told us they’d be right back. I thought, Great. They’re gonna mug us. We totally just gave them permission to come in and mug us.

Jorge and I watched them from the kitchen window as they unloaded this box. I said, “What do you think it is?” He replies, “I don’t know. But whatever it is, it better be some mechanical maid that’ll clean the house.”

Sure enough. It was a vacuum cleaner demonstration. And they cleaned the entire house for us LOL. After seeing the mounds of dirt they removed from the kids’ mattresses, the air filter and sofa, we were sold. And disgusted! How are they going to show you that stuff and you NOT want to buy it right then and there?? I told the salesguy, “Oh. You’re GOOD.”

So now we have this new vacuum. And they took our old little Dirt Devil :(. I had this sentimental attachment to it because it was Jorge and I’s first vacuum together (I’m weird like that), but the piece of crap didn’t clean SHIT! Jorge had just vacuumed the living room rug and the guy went over it and removed dirt and lint balls. And then I wonder why I have allergies. (It’s Ruffles’ fault, too.)

So the guys got there and we ordered pizza. I only had one slice. And Junior got there and brought me a Smirnoff.

What my favorite cousin-in-law brought me :D

He is THE BEST!!

So I sat outside with them and we watched American Reunion after the fight. Rudy showed up with mini brownies (grr)…and I had 3 :(. I had a major sugar crash after that and came straight to bed. Jorge was falling asleep, too, so the guys didn’t stay very much longer.

I set the alarm for 7:30 and made us some awesome omelets and some coffee. We showered, packed our stuff and we were off. We stopped to get gas in the BMW (♥) and when Jorge got back in the car he randomly said that one of these Sundays we needed to stop at the flea market. As we’re getting back on the Expressway, I get a call from the bay fishing company that there was a problem with the boat, they were trying to fix it, they’d call us if it was fixed by the 7pm trip, we could get a free dolphin watch (to which Jorge said, “I don’t wanna see fish! I wanna catch fish!” LOL), and to scratch out the expiration date (August 31st) on our vouchers. It was pretty disappointing but we decided we’d head to the Island to eat lunch and lazy around on the beach :). Right after we went to the flea market, heh.

We walked around the aisles and pointed stuff out (the huge tables with Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret creams, WTF?). I hadn’t been to a flea market in forever and we had fun :). We were each spending $10. We bought the girls some Hello Kitty hair bows, I found a vintage Bedtime Bear, and some little necklaces for Mom. And something else, but I can’t remember, heh.

We decided against getting a fruit cup or junk food and headed to the beach. We sang out hearts out all the way to the Walmart in Port Isabel :). I love traveling with him; it’s so fun!

We realized we’d forgotten towels and sunscreen, dur, so we got some. And the umbrellas were much cheaper than renting one so we bought one. I love that we’ll get to use it again later. No money wasted!

When we got to the Island, our first stop was Big Boy’s; one of Jorge’s favorite spots to eat. He’s always posting these awesome pics on his Facebook so I wanted to try it out for myself, heh.

We graffitied on the table while we waited for our food:

I love his handwriting <3

My handsome man <3

And then the food got there:

Nothing better than shrimp on the beach :)

And I proceeded to eat ALL 8 SHRIMP!! Not all the fries, but definitely all the shrimp! SO GOOD!

We got in the car and drove to one of the beach accesses. We both changed in the car, heh.

At the Beach :)

If I could walk around in a bathing suit and linen cover-up all day, I totally would! It’s so comfortable :). (No photo of me in said cover-up; I’ll spare you!)

We ran as fast as we could in flip-flops through soft, scorching sand. We found a good spot, far away from all the other families and couples and set up our stuff. We had difficulties with the umbrella at first, but then, we got it. Jorge drank a beer and I drank my sweet tea. And we just relaxed and enjoyed the breeze, heat and the sound of the ocean.

<3

I’m not too fond of that picture of myself, but it was the only one we got to take together.

We laid back and Jorge took a nap (he’s a pro at falling asleep at the drop of a hat!) and I took pics until I myself took a small nap :). That’s another one off my bucket list: fall asleep on the beach :).

Relaxing :)

Beach Umbrella

Dee Plane!!

Our Spot :)

I woke up when I felt the sun burning my hand, heh. Aunt Nora called and we chatted for a bit and then Jorge got up. We decided to go play in the water, because–like he said–we never really get to since we’re always taking care of the kids and making sure they’re all safe. I told him I was nervous about going out there; the waves were rough. He said, “I’d never let anything happen to you” ♥. It was great waiting for the huge waves to smash into us :). I love that we laugh and have so much fun together :).

We stayed a while longer and then found changing rooms. It was a lot less messy than I thought it would be. Jorge was glad for that; he was nervous about the amount of sand he’d get in the car LOL.

We blasted the music and started our drive home. We were getting hungry, so we stopped at Dairy Queen . I had the double fudge cookie dough with caramel drizzle. Oh yes. Jorge had nachos :).

We finished up and made plans to go to the movies. Then we decided against it because by the time we got home it would be late and our Mondays are crazy. So we came home, cleaned the cars and I made dinner. Fish and asparagus :). Needless to say, I was BEAT.

Monday was a regular Monday at work. A lot of time spent planning for our next event. I had to compile some photos from this event from years past. I ate lunch at work and tried behaving the rest of the day.

Until I got home and made bacon-wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapeños and cheesy chicken. Sally came over so we could catch up and gossip and she stayed for dinner :). Jorge got home and we all ate and gossiped some more, heh.

I helped Michelle with registration for one of her events on Tuesday. That helped the day go by quickly, thank goodness! We got to eat after the event:

Lunch! So yummy!

And I drank about 5 glasses of peach tea. Ugh. My stomach hurts remembering how full I was! Dumbass!

Anyway. I got to keep 2 vases of these gorgeous flowers:

Fresh Flowers Make Me Happy :)

Fresh flowers greatly improve my mood!

I went to Old Navy after work to get Alaethia some more jeans for school since they’re on sale. Of course there wouldn’t be any boot cut in her size. At least the other 2 I got her were boot cut. These were skinny jeans, plus a cute blouse and 2 bicycle shorts for under her dresses. I’m pretty much done with clothes shopping and school supplies. Now all she needs are her shoes and backpack! Woo!

The line took forever and my feet were killing me. I was wearing my most comfortable wedges but I can only do about 8 hours with them, tops. And I still had to go grocery shopping!

I accomplished this in exactly 1 hour, went $20 over budget (grr) and when I drove to my street found out it was CLOSED. I had to turn and take another street. I can’t wait till they’re done with this darn construction!

I made mom, Jorge and myself some salads while he fed the lil’ kitty:

Another reason why I love this man :D

A salad after today's lunch, heh.

I kept trying to convince Jorge to jog after dinner, but he wouldn’t budge. So I got up and made us some mini frittatas so we could have breakfast made for 2-3 days. I followed this recipe, which I found on the wonderful Pinterest. I baked for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. The only difference was I didn’t add salt at all, and I used 1% milk instead of half and half.

Making breakfast for the next 3-4 days :)

:)

Woohoo, breakfast! No Special K bar for this girl!

(I need to quit using Instagram for all photos; they look blurry!)

I topped them with Monterrey jack cheese and voila! Breakfast was ready!

We went back to HEB since I forgot dish soap and my precious French vanilla creamer. I also took the chance to buy some black and silver Wet-n-Wild nail polishes since they were still BOGO free!

We got home and got out stuff ready for tomorrow, showered and hit the hay :).

I got all my stuff ready for work this morning and got to work on time. My mini frittata was GREAT!! Super scrumptious!

The morning went by super fast, then came lunch, I blogged a bit, the afternoon sorta dragged and then I got out of work and went straight to pick up my babies :). I missed them so much! Jorge arrived with his lil’ guys soon after :).

They all fell in love with the tiny screamy kitty. Potential names are Shiner, Snowball, Furball, and Felafel LOL.

While they entertained the lil dude I made these awesome enchiladas:

I had a salad for lunch so I could have these artery-clogging enchiladas for dinner hehe

And I’ve tried finishing up this blog on and off for the past few hours as I tend to children and feeding kitties. Jorge is having his guy’s night tonight and they’re all sitting around the BMW in folding chairs like it’s a sporting event LOL. And now I’m going to wrap this up and do Ab Ripper and about 20 minutes of jogging on the treadmill. Hey. At least it’s something!
