A Summary

Got ready for school.

Woke Mario up since his uncle was here early with another truck to have something installed in it.

Ricci got here and we left to school.

Had a quiz on Chapter 3 first period (currently taking Records and Information Management), free time, Key Terms for Chapter 4, reading for Chapter 4, Review Questions for Chapter 4.

Had interesting conversations during breaks.

Rushed the papers they needed from John and Mom to the financial aid office after school.

Rushed home, chilled out and watched Transamerica (which was a shocking but excellent movie. LOVE Felicity Huffman.) while Mario slept and the kids played quietly in the bedroom. Watched part of Desperate Housewives Season 2 Episode 16, I think, and then left to town with Mario.

Picked up his paycheck, Mary picked up the boys so that we could check cars out at the Chevy place. Checked out the Cobalts and decided on either white or blue granite metallic. Not our first choice, but we’re first-time buyers so we wouldn’t be able to get the Nissan Titans we had our little hearts set on.

We discuss how we’re going to have to start pinching pennies and stop making inpulse buys like last week if we get this car. It was fun while it lasted–to spend like it didn’t matter–but we really do need this car.

Waited for Jorge to call about having the $2,000 ready for us that he owes Mario for the Prelude. He kept begging Mario to sell it to him and now we’re just waiting for the payment that should have been available today. This makes me very unhappy.

Another thing that makes me unhappy is that Lack’s keeps calling about the late payment again. Apparently Jorge and Maggie are a week late on the payment. I’m REALLY regretting letting them borrow our account. To my understanding, they were supposed to pay it off when they received their income tax.

Met with Mary again and got the kids back. Took them to Peter Piper Pizza for some kids meals and to play games. We’d promised them last week and neither of us remembered so we had to comply when they did. Since Mario wanted to bar-be-cue later we shared some cheesy garlic bread with marinara sauce which was just EXCELLENT. Kids played, got prizes, we left.

Mario stopped at the corner store down Tom Gill and bought some fajitas, chicken and sausage to bar-be-cue.

John drives me to the store to pick up ice, chips, dip and other miscellaneous junk foods. (John also drove Mom to her doctor’s appointment and to pick up her prescriptions all by himself!)

Mario invites Chris and Nancy who bring Angela and Yazmin over. Mom joins us then we’re later joined by Mary. We eat, great food, have a good time. Start nodding off at 10:30. Finally come in at 11 since I can’t take it anymore and neither could Nancy. I’m becoming such an old lady. Falling asleep by 7 p.m…What a shame…

Yadira is scheduled for a C-section tomorrow morning. Yay! Gotta figure out when I should be ready to visit and I have to go to the bank, too. I need to remember to get the kids’ bank account numbers.

So sleepy. Jaylen’s waiting for me since he wants to play with my hair to fall asleep. My initial intentions for updating were to rant and rave about how pissed I am about the car’s down payment and Lack’s, but I’ll make calls and throw my fits tomorrow. I don’t have the strength to be angry right now.

Well, FINALLY!

Ricci arrived here in the morning and we left to school. I put gas at Aziz–can you believe how fricken expensive gas is right now? I put gas at $2.39 this morning, and when I was driving home this evening it was at $2.43! It’s just ridiculous!

Mayra didn’t go to school today. We (Lucy and I) were kind of worried but when I spoke to her later I found out why. Lucy and I had a talk about a certain situation during one of our breaks and well, we’re both pretty fed up about something. Can’t mention exactly what because who knows who reads this thing. But anyway.

I rushed home after school to pick up Mom, John and the boys since John had his appointment for enrolling at school at 1:30 (I get out at 12). Mom had already gotten the boys ready, I made them a quick lunch of Easy Mac and chocolate milk really quick, packed up their DSs and left.

We made it just in time. John’s advisor was my advisor, Marivel, and I was just thrilled. She’s so sweet and just a really nice and cheerful person. John went through the whole process—where they interview you to determine just how interested and motivated you are to go to that school. We had to leave for an hour while the Financial Aid people were out but when they came back, we continued with the appointment. My boys behaved angelically. Mary called at around 4 p.m. and offered to pick the boys up and take them home with her.

We continued with the Financial Aid process which took an eternity. It felt much longer than when I enrolled. I stood for about an hour because the lady who was helping John was extremely rude and didn’t even offer to get another chair for me. The least she could have done was tell me to drag another chair from another cubicle so I could sit. She needs to take the Customer Service class, darnit.

We almost got into a car accident when we were on our way home. Thank God I didn’t have the kids with me. Some geniuses were transporting a house ON THE EXPRESSWAY which kept causing cars to come to screeching halts for some reason.

I got home just in time to grab all the library books the kids and I checked out and returned them. I checked my two out again since I never finished The Devil Wears Prada.

When I get home again Mary tells me how Yadira’s blood pressure was high and that she might just have the baby tomorrow! It’s horrible that the reason she might have the C-section so soon is because she’s getting sick, but at the same time it’s so exciting to think there’ll be a new baby soon!

I went along with Mary, Noelia, Jose and Elda to help clean Yadira’s house since she’s really not in the physical condition to be doing housework. The poor thing can barely move—her tummy’s so big!

I find it so easy to organize other people’s houses, but when it comes to my own house I just can’t figure out where to put anything. I REALLY have to clean up the house this weekend. I don’t have any plans for Saturday and Sunday so I’m planning to spend one day cleaning and one day just relaxing; maybe watching TV or reading on the couch.

Mario was a saint and ordered pizza, cheese sticks, wings, a Pepsi, and rented some movies. I did not feel like making dinner. I still have to put my school shirts in to wash and I still have to take a shower but my legs are so sore (stupid Financial Aid lady!) that I have no strength to get up.

Oh my gosh, I wonder if my mom filled out the Sallie Mae form?! I sure hope so. I can’t believe I’ve spent all of Eenan’s Spring Break running errands and totally not having a break. I feel so exhausted. I’m just glad my current class is pretty easy and doesn’t add any extra stress to my day.

But then, I do have a final next Monday….
