I’m getting a few minutes to blog while Alaethia’s in her between-asleep-and-awake-state and the boys are watching Power Rangers. They need to go to bed soon, so I need to keep an eye on the clock.

I thought I was going to have to go into town yesterday to leave Mario’s truck payment, but I ended up setting up an online account right on time and deposited at the bank right on time. God, I love technology. We pay just about every payment we have online and that ROCKS.

I spoke to Paul for a while (wait no, that was on Tuesday, now that I remember). They’re having a really hard time right now and immediately felt incredibly humbled for complaining about my mediocre problems. I got to speak to Mayra, too, which is always awesome. We had lots of catching up to do. She’s having a hard time right now as well. Really, everyone I know isn’t having an easy time right now. Must be something in the darn water =\.

I made dinner yesterday evening (meatloaf — totally have to add that recipe — and mashed potatoes) and we all got ready to go to Jorge and Maggie’s right after Mario got home. All of us except Eenan, who had already made plans to sleep over at Mary’s, as usual. It’s like that kid isn’t even ours anymore =\.

We got there and Mario stayed outside with the men while Aly, Jaylen and I went inside with Maggie. She wasn’t feeling too good since she’d overdone it with mixed drinks the night before, so we decided to go for a walk. I took Alaethia, Jaylen stayed with Jorgie and Justin who were being supervised by the men.

It was a nice night out, if you don’t count the humidity, but it wasn’t boiling hot like it usually is and there weren’t any mosquitoes. We had some catching up to do so we spent the whole walk talking. Alaethia loved it. She was quiet and really cheerful the whole time. My arms didn’t get tired at all (we forgot her stroller), surprisingly. It didn’t even feel like a long walk, and it was. That’s what I need, to have someone to walk with so it doesn’t seem like “work”. Anyway, we checked out a few of the new two-story houses that are being built in their neighborhood and some of them actually have really nice floorplans. If we could afford it I’d totally want to snatch up one of the few lots that are available in their area. They’re going REALLY fast!

We went to the store and got some junk food and caught up some more. We sat outside with the men for a while after Alaethia fell asleep. She woke up pretty quickly and after she had a giggling fit with Miller, their cat, we came home. I’d finally gotten her to fall asleep “early” the night before, at 12:45 (and then she woke up at 5am for a bottle) so I didn’t want to ruin it but we didn’t end up getting home till 1:20am or so. Jaylen was already asleep and Alaethia fell asleep shortly after. Since she’d fallen asleep a little later last night she didn’t wake up for her first bottle till 8am. I would have had a lovely night’s sleep except that Mom’s transportation service to her doctor’s appointments called at 4am and then at 5:30. The nerve! What are they doing awake so darn early?!

Mario left to work and I tried napping but that was quite unsuccessful. I gave up and made some coffee and once Mom got here from her appointment I bathed Alaethia and then took a shower myself. I’d thought of going over to Maggie’s since she’s at home now, but I couldn’t get ahold of her. Instead John and I went to the salon so I could get “waxed”. I admit it. I get my upper lip waxed. It’s not like I have a handlebar mustache or anything, but I did have some peach fuzz that I’ve always hated. It’s the second time I do it (first time was for Noelia’s wedding; I got brave after everyone else did it LOL) and I should have just gone back with my friend Mayra H. instead of this place (which was the same place that took forever when I got my hair done for Noelia’s wedding).

The lady put scalding hot wax on my skin 3 different times and it hurt like hell. Doesn’t help that my skin’s extremely sensitive. John was laughing his ass off, reveling in the fact that my eyes were watering involuntarily and that I was suffering. We’d gotten this idea to record our conversations in the car with my digital camera but left it off when we went into the salon. I regret not keeping it on. John said the lady was reusing my “scraps” of wax and started creeping me out saying they probably reuse the scraps for everyone. I still don’t want to believe him. My face could have been exposed to other women’s facial (and GOD, OTHER) hair. That’s just wrong!

We turned the camera back on and had some interesting/retarded conversations. The camera was focused on my radio and center console the whole time. The videos are pretty dumb. We’re still debating whether we should put them on Youtube.

We went to Mario’s work to drop his wallet off to him. Then he sent us to Stripes to get him a drink and then John insisted that I empty my 1 Gig SD card so he could record some more. Good thing I had my laptop with me. It’s so awesome having this machine. How I wish we had it during our vacation at Disneyworld in 2004 :(. I would have had so many more pictures from that time!

(Aww, Alaethia’s cracking up. Jaylen’s rubbing his hair on her hand and she loves that. OH! And she’s been trying to crawl! She’d been getting on all fours since she was at least 4 1/2 months old, but now she’s rocking back and forth and kind of pulls herself on her belly when she’s trying to reach something. She’s growing so quickly. And she just strides along in her walker. I can’t believe she does so well for 5 months, 2 weeks!)

I wanted to go get John a ticket for Order of the Phoenix tomorrow but he’s counting on Mom not getting here on time from her doctor’s appointment (yes, another one). I told him she’s definitely going to be back on time and he’s going to miss out, but he didn’t want to go. We went to H-E-B to get a few things we each needed and then came home. And I’ve been here pulling my hair out because of my sons ever since. These boys are constantly fighting but as soon as I separate them they end up right back together again. And the mess! They leave toys strewn all over the place. I have them clean up and it ends up the same in another area 5 minutes later. I’ve given up for today. Why do I bother cleaning, again?

And also, I’ve decided I need to go on a diet. Not a diet diet, I just need to start eating less junk food and start jogging or at least doing exercises that I can include Alaethia in. I’m 3 lbs. heavier than I was AFTER I’d lost the weight 4 days after I had Alaethia and that’s NOT cool. I need to give up sodas (which just eff up my whole digestive system whenever I drink one…as delicious as Cherry Pepsi is…). I need to do this. I’m going to start…

Right after I finish that last tub of Smores ice cream…

One of Those Days

I’m so exhausted right now. I know I’ve said ‘I’m exhausted’ before, but I think those times were an understatement compared to how I feel at the moment.

I haven’t felt “well” since Sunday night. My stomach constantly bothers me, yet nothing intestinal is wrong with me. I just feel…weird. Like, a strange pain right under my chest. I almost thought I was having a heart attack last night, no joke.

I’ve also been waking up at strange hours and not being able to fall back to sleep. Two nights ago I woke up at 2:30pm, probably because that’s around the time Mario came to the bedroom, and didn’t fall back to sleep till almost 4. Last night (or early morning) I woke up at 4 and stayed up until 4:30. Alaethia doesn’t even wake me up till 5:30 or 6 so it’s annoying that I’m waking up on my own instead of resting!

I had every intention of falling back to sleep this morning after the boys left to school and Mario left to work, but I was starving and had some cereal and didn’t want to go back to sleep. I feel…well, like a fatass, and I have my dress fitting for Noelia’s wedding this Saturday. LOVELY. So, going back to sleep after a full stomach isn’t really such a good idea.

Then, the stupid cable guy called and said he was coming over so I wouldn’t have been able to fall asleep any way.

I had to make an appointment for the boys with their doctor, but they were full so they told me to go in as a walk-in. Stupidly, I said okay. I didn’t have much choice, seeing as how Eenan was complaining of chest pain. After all the bronchial and pnuemonial problems he’s had I always mind what he tells me. Jaylen was also up for his 5 year physical (and vaccines) and I was also hoping to squeeze Alaethia in for her ear piercing. I figured I’d do it there even though the boys’ doctor isn’t her primary since they numb the ears before doing the procedure.

Anyway, I’m rambling. I showered while Alaethia was sleeping, then bathed her when she woke up. Mom got home from her doctor’s appointment and gave me her latest health news: she’s got early signs of osteoperosis. They’re going to do further tests to make sure.

She stayed with Aly while I picked up Jaylen. We went over to the library to sign Eenan’s Millionaire’s Club field trip permission slip since he, as usual, forgot to bring it to me since over a week ago. I don’t know what I’m going to do with that boy and his forgetfulness. That, and he’s very disorganized (you should see his backpack!).

After Eenan got out of school, John, the kiddos and I got into the car and left. This was around 4:15. We were at the doctor’s office by 5 something. We were still at the doctor’s at 6. One of the nurses noticed we’d been there forever, probably dying of thirst as we were, and offered us drinks. Sprites for John and I, Hi-C’s for the boys. The sugar in the drink didn’t help the boys one bit. They were becoming stir-crazy and started acting up; Eenan more than Jaylen. Then later, after Jaylen got his physical done he started acting up. My boy will most likely be wearing glasses now and we found out today he has an irregular heartbeat. Not a heart murmur, but we’re going with a Cardiologist just to be sure.

Eenan’s chest pain is probably due to a dry cough he’s had, so he got prescribed medicine for that. Alaethia didn’t even get her ears pierced because they’re not doing that till summer vacation. Lovely.

So around 8pm we’re finally leaving, when the office closes at 7. AND I thought I forgot Jaylen’s immunization card so we have to go back tomorrow. I have to take him out of school early and everything. When we went to Walgreens to drop off the prescriptions I found the darn thing in my purse. I guess it was a good thing, even though I’m going to have to drive all the way the hell over there again, since I was so stressed and wouldn’t have been in the mood to hear Jaylen screaming tonight. He was already crying over a video game he wanted. As annoyed as I was, I thought it was really cute that he was giving me his $2 he’d been saving and asked me to “put in the rest” for the Zelda game LOL.

We had to wait an hour for the prescriptions, so we got a pizza from Little Caesar’s and drinks from Stripes and ate in the truck. Alaethia started fussing (only time) so we got down to get the prescriptions. Jaylen’s wasn’t available and Eenan’s freaking cough medicine cost $20. Bastards! (I just noticed on the receipt that it said “Your insurance saved you $73.41!” So basically the stupid cough medicine costs almost $100!)

So yeah, that was my day. I was highly annoyed, but feel much better now that Mario’s home and we had a nice long, lovey-dovey chat. I shall go cuddle with him now :).

Posting my One Photo An Hour a bit late, as usual. I decided to start extra early that morning, at 1am, since I was up anyway:

1:00am – Feeding Alaethia and reading a book (currently Sushi for Beginners by Marian Keyes). This is the usual time Alaethia falls asleep.

OPAH - Photo Project 1:00am

7:00am – Time to start the day. Aly has a bottle and once she’s asleep and in bed I get ready to iron and make Mario’s breakfast and get the boys some cereal.

OPAH - Photo Project 7:00am

8:00am – Browsing Target.com to look for a new TV table. We need more space in our tiny living room and wanted to get rid of our 6-year-old, huge entertainment center.

OPAH - Photo Project 8:00am

9:00am – My breakfast: French Vanilla Shredded Wheat and some coffee.

OPAH - Photo Project 9:00am

10:00am – Looking for something to wear so we can leave already.

OPAH - Photo Project 10:00am

11:00am – At the bank to deposit all the coins from the yard sale.

OPAH - Photo Project 11:00am

12:00pm – Arriving at the Goodwill where John pointed out that the sign said “InsuranceClams” instead of Claims!

Didn’t have a very successful thrifting day this time. Got a Making Memories album with accessories (brads, flowers, metal embellishments, etc.) for $6.50, some Rat treats for Mario’s rats ($.99), a brand-new box of 64 Crayola crayons for the boys ($.99), a cute crackled glass vase ($.50), and some thank you cards ($.27). Mom got the boys a HUGE case of sidewalk chalk for $2.00!

OPAH - Photo Project 12:00pm

1:00pm – Our next stop was the mall. I’m leaving a note to my dear neighbor in the parking lot, who parked ridiculously close to my parking space. I took a picture of their license plate just in case they hit my door. I’ve learned my lesson–I got a huge dent in my door the last time some bozo parked super close to me at the mall. The first and only casualty my Equinox has suffered! And it wasn’t even my fault–that’s what gets to me.

OPAH - Photo Project 1:00pm

2:00pm – When we were leaving JC Penny (where I bought some cute capris for $10.81 with an awesome coupon I had!) we stalked Spiderman per the children’s request. He was nice enough to pose with them to Jaylen’s delight.

OPAH - Photo Project 2:00pm

3:00pm – Having some Taco Bell since we were starving by now. Since Mario works nearby, I was picking a snack up for him, too.

OPAH - Photo Project 3:00pm

4:00pm – Saying goodbye to the Equinox as we’re leaving in Mario’s Neon. My battery died for some weird reason, after only having the truck for a year. Thank GOD we were close by to Mario’s work. He came over to check the car but the jumper didn’t work. I walked over to his work and picked up his car. He’d go over with his co-workers later to check out the car. We were going to drop some stuff off to Gramma but totally forgot everything in the truck :(.

OPAH - Photo Project 4:00pm

5:00pm – Leaving Target with our new TV table :). This is John struggling with the incredibly heavy box.

OPAH - Photo Project 5:00pm

6:00pm – We finally get home and Jorge and Mary are at the carport trying to get the PPV channel to work since we’d all pitched in for the fight. Jorge brought over his 32″ TV but since the box wouldn’t cooperate on that TV we had to bring out our little 27″ LOL.

OPAH - Photo Project 6:00pm

7:00pm – I could have sworn I took a 7 o’clock picture, but I couldn’t find it on my camera.

8:00pm – I walked into the boys’ room to check up on them and the room was a disaster. To their disappointment I made them start cleaning up ASAP.

OPAH - Photo Project 8:00pm

9:00pm – Watching the pre-big-fights and eating and holding Alaethia.

OPAH - Photo Project 9:00pm

10:00pm – Alaethia fell asleep after having a bottle. She slept from 10pm to 7am the next morning! First, and so far only, time she’s done that!

OPAH - Photo Project 10:00pm

11:00pm – Watching the fight. VERY disappointed with the outcome!
