My Little Graduate

I’m watching American Idol right now…everyone was sucking until Bo Bice started belting out “Stand By Me”. Not only do I love this song because it reminds me of when I was little and would listen to oldies with my Mom, but he’s got such a nice voice *swoon*. (OOoh he also sang “How Far Is Heaven”…loved it!) I still can’t believe Constantine got voted off before Anthony Federov and Scott Savol (but I like how he sings, sometimes). I can’t believe Paula CRIED! Oooh now Carrie’s on…she’s my favorite.

Eenan’s graduation was today . He looked so handsome in his shirt, tie and slacks.

Mary went with me to drop him off and we spoke to Ms. O., who looked so cute in her maternity clothes . She took all their gowns to iron them at home, herself. I stopped by the classroom before Eenan got out of school yesterday so that I could pick up the gown to iron but she said she’d do it. I kept asking her, “Are you sure??”, but she insisted.

When we got back from dropping him off I frantically ironed all our clothes, and flat-ironed my hair, got all the cameras together and whatever else that needed to be done. I would have done everything last night except Mary and I went to Wal-Mart to get “surprises” for Eenan to give him after his graduation. After 30 minutes of rummaging through the piles of stuffed animals stuffed in the shelves she found a graduation bear and I got him a Glow in the Dark Do-Your-Best Bear from Mario and I. Needless to say, I was dead tired when we got home.

We got to the Performing Arts Center at the high school at around 8:35-8:40 and didn’t get seated till at least 9:15! The graduation was set to start at 9am and they didn’t start till 10 something. It was all made up for when they showed a video Mr. Z., the music teacher, had put together. It was mostly pictures of the kids all doing their work in their classes. When I see them flash a picture of Eenan up there I started bawling. They were also playing Leann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” in the background, so that hit me and I couldn’t get the tears to stop LOL. I love that song!

He looked so cute going up there and getting his “diploma” (which was a fake rolled up piece of paper they took away LOL). He looked over to us when he went up the steps, kind of posing for us to take a picture. When all the kids got their “diplomas” we all walked out and met the kids in the main lobby(?) and took pictures of them, etc. I took a picture of Eenan, the pimp, with his arms around two of his (girl) friends. Too cute! We met the kids back at school and checked Eenan out for the rest of the day. He took a few pictures with friends, Ms. O., us and a group picture. He had so much fun and was beaming with pride since he’s going to 1st grade next year, “like Angela”.

Since the graduation took so long, and Mario had to leave to work by 12:20 and Mary had to go to work too, we just stopped by McDonald’s (since it’s the closest, fastest thing). We’ve been chilling out at home since. He’s so happy he’s “un-grounded” now LOL. He was grounded most of the weekend because he got a referral for sticking gum in a little boy’s hair during graduation practice last Wednesday .

As for the weekend, it was spent in town buying Mother’s Day gifts, getting John’s graduation stuff, and buying last minute stuff for Eenan’s graduation. We got:

1. Mary – 2 DVDs
2. Mom – shoes she wanted and gold/cubic zirconia earrings
3. Gramma – a nightgown and some chocolates
4. Aunt Nora – cubic zirconia earrings

We went to the circus Saturday night (Mary, Sonia, Yadira, the girls, Andy, Noelia, and the boys and I). It was nice…I was STILL expecting elephants and tigers and they didn’t have them, but it was still cool. The kids loved it. Jaylen was going psycho clapping because he was that excited.

The next day we dropped John off at home and Mom gave me my super wonderful Mom’s Day gift…the It Signature collection Bucket Bag. The first Dooney I laid eyes on back in the day and wanted:

It’s so awesome. It’s smaller than my Raspberry barrel, but still oh-so-cute .

I’m also getting back into scrapbooking. I’m slowly buying supplies, and cute embellishments and papers. I made my first page in years yesterday and it came out really nice, if I do say so myself . Noey went through a bunch of papers and cut-outs and she gave me some really cute ones (Halloween, Road Trip, Birthday themes) I want to use ASAP. She wants me to help her with hers when she’s done with her class. It shall be fun!

Okay, I should really get to vacuumming and making Mario’s lunch for tomorrow. I don’t know what to make for this man anymore!

Busy, Busy

I have to pick Eenan up in 20 minutes, so I’m going to try to type as fast as possible. The last time I posted Jaylen and I went on a walk to Eenan’s school to pick him up. It wasn’t as lovely as I was hoping it was going to be. I ended up having to take the humungous Eddie Bauer stroller since the little one was in Mary’s van. It was my fault since I should have gotten it out the night before. It started getting REALLY hot too: 85 degrees and breezy, my butt! We get there and Ms. O. sees us and brings Eenan to us with a really sullen look on her face. I ask, “How’d he do today?” and she said, “Not good. He put gum in a little boy’s hair while we were at the graduation practice.” I lectured him, once again, grounded him and he felt really bad, especially since the little boy’s one of his good friends. He ended up getting a referral (Eenan) since it was put in the little boy’s hair. I was a bit upset that they didn’t do anything to the little boy, since he did start it all by putting the gum down Eenan’s shit. I politely let the teacher know how I felt about it the next day, but I didn’t want to make a big deal about it. Hopefully Eenan learned his lesson and behaves the rest of the year. I don’t even want to know what’ll happen if he gets a 3rd referral (the first one was for when he kicked the little boy in the nuts .

It was Mario’s day off yesterday and we literally just chilled out all day…didn’t do a thing. It was kind of nice not having to have any errands or anything. We did finally take apart the bunk beds and threw them out…the room is MUCH spacier now. Hopefully now I can convince Mario to finally split the darn bedroom, but I doubt that’ll happen what with hardly having any days off.

We went to Jorge and Maggie’s last night and the men chit-chatted over beer while we chit-chatted. It was nice to finally see her. Hopefully we’ll go over again tonight and maybe go to the new Wal-Mart together buahahaha .

Jaylen was too cute last night. Justin and Jorgie had already been put to bed and he was outside with us (Eenan was sleeping over at Mary’s). I saw his legs from under the back of Jorge’s Explorer and I called him over. He says, “Hold on Mom, I’m getting a froggie.” He ended up actually catching the huge frog and was just holding him and talking to him. He was using him as a little airplane and was “flying” him around when he dropped the poor thing so Mario convinced him to take him to the back of the house. I was so afraid the frog would “pee” on him but he actually didn’t. They never pee on him now that I think about it. Yet, when I get them they’re franticially whizzing everywhere!

Okay, it’s time. We gotta go if I want to be one of the first ones . I hate waiting there for an HOUR!

Feeling Lazy Today

I told myself this morning that I’d only eat one breakfast taco, so I only used 3 eggs (instead of the usual 4–2 for Mario, 1 for me this time) and then added the diced tomatoes, onions and cheese. I stuffed the mixture in flour tortillas. Mario and I were watching something where they were talking about heart disease last night and I told him, “I really need to stop making you so much food that you ‘require’ flour tortillas with.”

He replied with, “No, you need to stop being stingy and put more in there.” “There” being his lunch bag.

I began my lecture about cholesterol and heart disease (which runs in both our families, aside from diabetes) and he, of course, tried blocking me out. He hates talking about his health. Just because he’s thin and fit doesn’t mean other things (bad things) are going on inside. He already smokes for Pete’s sake!

Anyway, Mario left one of his tacos and well, I ate it. With a glass of Coke . Then I told myself, “Okay, no coffee this morning. Try your hardest to stay awake.” Soon after Mario finished breakfast I laid next to him on the futon where he was watching TV. And I fell asleep right after eating! I’m so disappointed in myself *hangs head*. At this rate, I’m going to end up a very short, round woman.

Yesterday was a really nice day and I almost wanted to pick Eenan up walking but since Noelia was here and so was the car, I took it. Noelia has meetings at UTPA today, so she won’t be home so I’ll pick Eenan up on foot. He wanted to go walking to school yesterday morning, but it was drizzling so we didn’t go. He’ll be happy to know we’re walking today. Lord knows I need the exercise, heh.

He’s probably back from practice at the high school right now. They were going to be there from 8:30 till 11:30. He must have been so excited since he got to ride the bus .

Gar…the darn internet keeps disconnecting. It’s been this way all week! It’s a miracle I got this much finished with the skins and all. I hope I can finish today and maybe resurect a few old layouts? I’m just glad I got GM to work. I was so afraid I’d screw something up. This time, I’m keeping one of my scripts off the site–the print screen disabler, buahahaha–since it even annoyed me and lots of visitors using I.E. probably didn’t even know I had it enabled. It sure did give me that extra peace of mind though–haven’t had my layouts jacked since I started using it a few months back. Since it doesn’t work in other browsers other than I.E., it’s safe to say most of the layout stealers use I.E. LOL.

Oooh, forgot to mention: Andy was visiting with Noelia last night and they came over to see the turtles. He couldn’t believe how big Daniel’s gotten . I don’t see a difference, probably because I see him all the time. I’m just glad they’re doing well. It scares me to think we’ll have to eventually put them in a kiddie pool when they become adults!

Mary was talking to Jorge (Mario’s Nino) last night. He’ll be coming down from California during the Mother’s Day weekend. She was bragging about my cooking (how sweet!) and he said he wants to see how good a cook I am so I was appointed to cook one of the nights he’s here. I’ll be making enchiladas…chicken enchiladas probably. I hope I do well LOL. I don’t wanna goof up, especially in the presence of Jorge…he’ll be making fun of me for years!

Okay, going to reset the modem and hopefully it starts working again. Damn Roadrunner .
