Aw Crap!

Well, I spoke too soon. The child peed not once, but twice, during the night. And he didn’t even wake up . The only reason I woke up was because my wrist was hurting me and I needed to pee.

I think he’s on strike. I think his whole body’s on strike, actually. He still hasn’t pooped, and I’m worried. I think he needed to go this morning because he refused to put his undies back on and screamed for a diaper. I even sat on the toilet while he was sitting on his potty chair to encourage him to poop. I even made grunting noises (no, I wasn’t really pooping!) just in case that would help him push, or something. He peed so much during the night — I think — that both times he’s tried to go pee, nothing comes out. He just says, “My pee-pee’s gone!” .

He’s also got this annoying cough that comes and goes. He coughed so much this morning that he ended up puking. Poor guy. I started him on cough medicine again. If it keeps up, back to the doctor we go.

I don’t know HOW I’m going to do it next month. The kids have their appointment at the dentist and I probably won’t have a car since it’s at 9am, and Mario leaves by 9:20 for work. Gotta start figuring SOMETHING out.

Speaking of next month, I can’t believe Valentine’s Day is almost here. It’s on a Monday, and Mario is working of course, so we’re probably not even going to “properly” celebrate. On March 27th, we celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary. He’s already asking for that day off, and is even promising to work an extra Sunday (he gets two on, two off) if he gets it. I hope they have a heart and let him get it. We’re already planning on where to go have dinner. I hope it happens. I’d like to make it super special, but I have no idea what to do. We were watching Committed again last night, since Mario hadn’t watched the most recent episode, where it’s Marni’s birthday and Nate has this dinner for her on the roof. I tell him — half-jokingly — that I wish someone would do that for me, and bat my eyes at him. He replies with, “Well, good luck”, and smiled sarcastically. I know he was joking, but argh. I remember when he would go all out on our anniversaries or special days, and even if it was nothing fancy, he would do something nice. I remember once, before we were married, he laid out a blanket in front of the big fireplace his dad bar-be-cues on outside, lit the fireplace and bought these floating candles and put them in water-filled glass bowls. We snacked on stuff and just cuddled and had a good time. I miss that *pouts*. When we talk about it he tells me he was just doing it to get in my panties . Bastard . It worked…obviously . But I know, I know…he’s so busy with work and we barely even have time to talk and see eachother. I’ll figure something out .

Gonna get lunch ready. Spaghetti O’s it is!

*edit 1:09pm* Jaylen asked for a “snack”, which usually means some sort of sweet, and since I’m out of those littler Gerber gummies I gave him a Honeybun (not the best choice, I know!). The in-laws have him addicted to those things, dammit, and he usually finishes all of it. I’ve been lecturing him about how too many sweets are bad, and “your teeth are going to fall out of your face”, etc., so today he brings back more than half of the Honeybun and says, “I can’t eat it all…I’ll die.” I’ve got the poor boy tramatized….*/edit*

Collections & My Children

I love Committed! I just finished watching the most recent episode. It’s hilarious, yet it never fails to make me want to cry, just a tad bit. It’s too cute!

Speaking of shows I missed, I finally watched the final episode of America’s Next Top Model Season 3 (late much?). Eva won! I was so happy she won. I thought Yaya (ha!) was gonna win since she always did really well. She had this holier-than-thou attitude though, and that bugged me about her. Eva’s kind of a drama queen, but she’s cute and I loved her Cover Girl photo…and her eyes! I stayed up till 1:30am yesterday waiting for the final 2 bytes to download . I watched it first thing in the morning LOL.

After watching that and having my coffee, I looked around at this dump place and decided it was time to do some heavy-duty cleaning. I was trying to come up with all kinds of ways to hang up the PILE of clean clothes that were on the edge of the couch and draped over one of the kitchen chairs. Yeah, not too pretty. A light went off and I remembered that little closet we’re using as a linen closet. The part that has the rod had all kinds of extra hangers on it and nothing fit in it because there was a bunch of folded blankets. I dragged out the huge box that’s filled with my shoes (I’ve got to sort through the shoes and get rid of the ones I don’t wear), piled the blankets in there and voilá! The living room is clothes-free! I swept, mopped, tossed the kids’ toys in the bedroom (so they’d put them away), then I cleaned everything in the bedroom that the kids couldn’t. Tomorrow, I’ll finish cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. I couldn’t do as much as I wanted (everything) today because my wrist is really hurting. I have this huge bump. I thought maybe it was Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but I did some research and the symptoms I have don’t match up. It’s something else. Mary said it looks like it may be calcium deposits, or something like that. Big Mario had that problem a while back. It’s so painful . Damn not having insurance or qualifying for medical help . Anyway, I also need to get all the rest of the music, shows, etc. off of the computer now that we have CD-Rs.

I’d bid on a Rainbow Brite lot on eBay and checked up on it after cleaning (a matted 12″ Lucky Sprite, Baby Brite wearing Rainbow Brite’s dress; a naked, faded Patty O’Green; an Indigo wearing her outfit, a naked Red Butler, 2 mini Twink Sprites, and a mini Lucky Sprite). I really wanted this lot, since it had Indigo’s pants, the 18″ Rainbow Brite dress with the emblem (my 2 don’t have it ) and of course it never hurts to have mini sprites! So I bid, and then got frikin’ SNIPED at the last 20 seconds. I got outbid by 50 DAMNED CENTS ! I was beyond outraged. I was so angry I stuffed my face with two little cakes Mary brought for us from this bakery in Edinburg . I know, dumb thing to get all worked up about, but I was really excited about buying it and I hadn’t really shopped on eBay in a long time (bought something at the beginning of the week after not shopping in forever) and that totally ruined it for me. The whole lot sold for only $6.50. And I got outbid by 50 cents *shakes head*.

I ran out to the mail after that to check if the Popple bottle I bought a few days ago had arrived and it had. That made me feel a little better . Now my Bibsy has her bottle:

My complete Bibsy Popple

If anyone would like to make me feel better, you can get me this. No? Damn *snaps fingers*…it was worth a shot . I wonder if anyone will buy those…they’re so rare…and in the box!

I pathetically scanned over my Rainbow Brite stuff, still cursing myself for getting sniped, and thought, “I’m not doing anything, I’ll clean up my stuff.” Hadn’t dusted them in a long time already, so I cleaned them up and reorganized them, then took pics. I’ll hopefully put the pics back up in the Rainbow Brite page soon.

I don’t collect the new My Little Pony’s (though some are really cute and I just might sometime), but the McDonald’s Happy Meal ponies are really cute! I wonder if I could get the neighbors to get me the whole set and I’ll pay them back. That would rock. I have an old MLP from the early 90’s that they gave out at McDonald’s, but I think I’m going to sell it. It looks slightly different from the actual ponies and I like the original-looking ones .

As for Jaylen’s potty training, I think he is officially potty trained! He had four accidents yesterday in the morning, but only because he was watching TV and was distracted. He’s done well since then though. He doesn’t even pee in the bed at night! And thank God too, because he sleeps with me, heh. I’m not sure if he’s constipated or if he’s not sure what he’s supposed to do about poop now that he’s wearing underwear but he hasn’t pooped since…Thursday? And he only went a teensy bit, too. If he doesn’t poop by tomorrow afternoon, I’m going to give him some orange juice…that always does it.

I thought it would be much harder to potty train him, as it was with Eenan, but I’m surprised it went so well! I think it’s the whole “Rule of 3” thing Mario and I learned about back when we first became parents. They told us that if you take something away from a baby, they won’t remember it after 3 days. It worked when weaning them from their pacifiers and bottles. The whole 3 days are a bit hellish, yes, but it really does work. After the first three days of potty training Jaylen this week, he started doing very well, so I guess it works with toddlers, too! I’m just so thrilled…and proud *beams*.

I’m also quite proud of Eenan. He’s doing really well in school. He was having trouble at the beginning of the week–he was distracted and unwilling to do his work, which really surprised Ms. Ortiz–but he’s doing much better now. I hope he continues to. He’s being tested the remainder of this year to check if he’ll do well in GT (gifted & talented–don’t remember if I already mentioned that?) classes next year. He’s barely in kinder and they’re already teaching them double and triple digit math! And he can do it! It boggles my mind. We weren’t learning that till 1st or 2nd grade! I think it’s great. His teacher makes it easy for them too…he loves her .

Oh my gosh, how incredibly CUTE! Jaylen’s watching Care Bears and he’s singing the theme song: “I wanna be a Care Bear…” which sounds more like, “I wanna be a Cay-o Bey-o” LOL!!!

OK…I should get to bed. I really need to stop going to sleep late…

Patience Is A Virtue

Hadn’t blogged in a few days due to a horrible cold I got. I’m finally almost completely over it, thank God.

So Pixiehost finally received a payment from me. I had to manually send it, which is what I think I’m going to do from now on since their billing system is not working. I had some downtime that same day I made the payment, which kind of pissed me off, naturally, but it wasn’t for long. Or, so I hope it wasn’t.

Saturday, I dragged my sickly ass to two parties with the mom-in-law and the boys. I felt really bad–my whole body was weak, my head was killing me, I was coughing up a storm and my nose was dripping like a water faucet–but I’d promised her earlier in the week that I’d accompany her, so I obliged. We went to visit Gramma first for a little while. She’s doing so, so well . Jaylen and I had some sugar free candies with her and chit-chatted and then we left.

The first party was a pizza party at Peter Piper. I thought I was going to die. The kids didn’t make it any easier on me. Sure, most of the time they give me a little trouble in public, but it was a thousand times worse considering that I felt like crap. Melissa had a Shark Tale theme for Jaimito and had gotten two tables. On the center of each table, she had a little goldfish bowl with a Beta fish and pastel rocks in it. Needless to say, the boys fell in love, would not leave the table, and I practically had to drag Eenan out when we were leaving. She was raffling them and a few plush fish she also had on the tables and we didn’t win anything, which made Eenan feel worse.

We left to the other party, which was a surprise party for one of Mary’s co-worker’s sons. Jaylen had crayons and a little activity book that was in their goodie bags from the previous party, so he was cool. Eenan took his Gameboy SP down with him, and his game was pissing him off so he was quickly developing an attitude. After threatening to take it away, he finally started calming down. The birthday boy got home, and everyone yelled out ‘Surprise!’. He wasn’t surprised…someone had left an invitation lying around and he found out about it. Bummer.

Since I’d already eaten two slices of pizza, some strawberry soda (very little…it was yucky) and a buffalo wing at the pizza party, I only had a cup of beans to eat and a Coke to drink. Broke my no-caffine streak. And it totally fucked up my stomach too, let me tell you. I had the most increcible gas EVER and I got constipated. TMI, I know, but that just goes to show how bad that crap can be (even though it tastes really good sometimes *sigh*.) The boys and Mary ate and I spoke with Yvonne, another of Mary’s co-workers about potty training. Her Goddaughter has been potty trained since she turned 2. I told her about how I’ve tried potty training Jaylen since he was 1 1/2, then I give him a break because he gets annoyed and doesn’t want to cooperate. She said her Goddaughter’s mom would encourage her to pee in the potty chair as soon as she got her out of the tub and then one day, just stuck her in panties and never put her back into diapers. She would also give her little treats or prizes when she’d successfully make it to the restroom. I didn’t ask about accidents and she didn’t mention them so I don’t know about that. She did tell me what I knew all along: boys are a bit harder to potty train. You’re telling me. Eenan didn’t get potty trained till he turned 3. He just wouldn’t do it. Couldn’t stand the sight of underwear and he could have cared less about prizes. All he wanted was his diaper. Then one day, while watching Blues Clues, he asked if I could bring his potty in front of the TV, so I quickly did so, and lo-and-behold, he POOPED! I was thrilled. I left the potty chair in the living room, in front of the TV till he got a bit more used to it and would only put him in diapers at night, for about 3 nights. Then I just left him in underwear after that. He had a few accidents during the night for two weeks after that, but I got him potty trained. And now, I’m trying with Jaylen. Have been since Monday. I thought I was going to go bonkers…he kept peeing on himself and everything around him. But, if I want him potty trained, then I’ve gotta put up with it. I kept having to tell myself this, after counting to 10 . I almost busted out the diaper last night after he peed on my lap, and my Hello Kitty blanket that I wrapped him in. He was SO moody since he caught my cold and I was a bit annoyed that he’d peed once again and almost threw in the towel. But I can’t. When I finally put him to bed, I spread a towel on the bed and then layed him on it, just in case. Didn’t even switch him to diaper during the night and guess what? He actually didn’t pee ALL NIGHT! And that’s because he woke up at around 6:30, coughing and drank a lot of water. I’m so proud of him ! So far today, he hasn’t had an accident. He hasn’t pooped since yesterday, and that kind of worries me. I already had to wash poop out of his undies the last time I tried the potty-training-thing. Not fun!

Sunday was Angela’s birthday and she wanted to celebrate it at the zoo, so we did. It was SO COLD! It was in the 40’s. The poor animals were all huddled up together–they looked so cute! I’d never been to the zoo when it was cold. It was kind of uncomfortable when we first got there, but once you got used to it, it was cool (no pun intended, heh). Sure beats walking around in 90-100° weather though! I still felt like crap that day, worse even. But I put on a happy face and trudged along. Jaylen kept getting out of his stroller to look at animals and was well-behaved for the most part. Eenan on the other hand was always at least 7 feet ahead of us and was being very impatient. Noelia ended up taking him with her, which I wasn’t too happy about because that meant as long as someone else would listen to him, he didn’t have to listen to me . We ended up meeting around the petting zoo and the kids had a blast there of course. I loved seeing the sugar gliders and these tiny pygmy monkies. And the squirrels, meerkats, lemurs, spider monkeys and so on. If I could, I would have smuggled them to the van in my pocket .

When we were visiting the gorillas, one of them was in the background happily eating his own poo. Yadira saw him first, and alerted us and then she started gagging like crazy. I gagged too and controlled myself, and when I turned, Yadira was in the corner…puking. I almost puked just knowing she’d puked LOL. We looked at the last few things and then went to the (dreaded, horribly expensive) gift shop. Big Mario had given the boys $25…and they used it LOL. They each got two huge, curling rubber snakes (as luck would have it, they didn’t charge us for Jaylen’s! Yay!), Eenan got a dinosaur pen and Jaylen got 4 huge lizards. They had a blast.

We went to a pretty park nearby and ate sandwiches and chips. Angela and the rest of the kids wanted to play, so we walked over there. I think the adults had more fun than the kids LOL. There was a huge pirate ship play area and a whole bunch of swings and monkey bars. I wish we had a park like that around here…ours is really small, but at least there’s one. Maybe Friday, if I have Noelia’s car and she doesn’t have anywhere to be, I’ll take them to the park after picking Eenan up .

Later that night, Angela and Yazmin came over and just chilled out. I fed all the kids spaghetti and then we all left with Mary to Yadira’s for Angela’s cake and presents. She was so happy. The kids gave her a Playful Heart Monkey and she just hugged him while she opened the rest of her gifts. Mario surprised us by getting to Yadira’s after work before we did. He’d told me he was going to be doing something (forget what) and then he was coming straight home to work on the headliner for the car. We chilled out, then came home earlier than everyone else since we were going to get to work on the car (and still had to bathe the kids and put them to bed). The headliner was a pain to install, but we did a pretty damn good job *beams*. It almost looks factory, except for one little pucker behind the rearview mirror.

I haven’t updated my “weight loss journal” since I got sick. I probably won’t anymore, since I got kind of tired of it (hence the reason I didn’t make an extra site for it alone even though I really wanted to). I have been watching what I eat (except for today, had some sour patch kids, cheetos, and 2 lolly pops–I’m a cow!). I hadn’t exercised either since I hurt my left wrist somehow. I don’t know if I slept wrong, or if I hurt myself when doing bench presses…or what. It was hurting so bad I had to wear a little Ace bandage thing. Didn’t help that I’m a clutz and kept banging it into every single thing I passed by. I will keep it up though–eating well, exercising–because I really want to lose a few pounds. I’m determined to do it.

Going to go finish fixing up my collections. I was dusting the poor things today and organizing my Popples (finally got a hold of a ladder!). I’ll hopefully get some updated pics posted in my collection page tonight.
