Women Be Shoppin’

It feels good to sit here without fleas jumping onto my legs. In the past week, the house became infested with fleas; mainly the living room. I dreaded waking up in the morning because I’d HAVE to pass through the living room to get to the bathroom. I’d sprint across as fast as I could and would still have fleas sprinkled all over my legs. It was hideous. So tonight, after Mary got back from going with Yadira and Yazmin to get her top braces done, we collected all the animals, took them to the (empty) apartment, set up the foggers in her house and our house and went to Yadira’s for 4 hours. We ate (nachos!) and watched videos of Angela and of all of their family in general of the past few years.

This morning Mario woke up in a crappy mood, again, which of course put me in a bad mood. I was going to Target with Mary (Mario decided he’d get his shoes later when he had time to try them on and junk), but she didn’t have her van so we dropped Mario off so we could use the Sentra. He was huffing and puffing all the way over there, so I just ignored him. He ended up getting me a Frappuccino and “Q” taco from Circle K, so I sort of forgave him, heh. Bribe me with caffeine and I’m putty in your hands . We dropped him off at work, then went to deposit money at the bank and went to Target. I needed to get Mario some lounge shorts and a new hoodie sweater for myself–perferably in pink–some sleep shorts and two tanks for the stripped collared shirts I bought from JCPenny on Thursday:

They’re sort of see-through, so I really needed those. I got what I “needed” and some extra stuff, too. I sort of went over-board , but my excuse was I haven’t shopped for clothes in over a year. I had no desire to buy new clothes ever since I gained weight, but I said ‘fuck it’ and decided hell, this is me and I’m not going to wear T-shirts (as cute as all my T’s are) forever. So, here’s what I got for myself:

I’m returning that first slip-dress type shirt, since it was too big (tried it on over my clothes at the store) and am debating whether I should exchange it for the Cheer Bear cub or one of the Hello Kitty purses I saw. I’m also returning the pink suede flip flops, since they don’t match any of the “pink” clothes I have. I loved the color, but I figured I’d barely wear them, so I’m going back for the brown ones. I’d get the regular $2.99 pink ones, which would match most of my clothes, but I’ve already bought those same flip flops two years in a row and they end up hurting after a while .

I ended up buying Jaylen a Mega Blocks bus, some Yugioh cards for Eenan, some magnetic picture frames for the fridge from the dollar section and some scrapbooking supplies from the dollar section, too. I couldn’t pass those up . But, I must be stopped. It’s not like me to go psycho when I’m shopping. I was scared to tell Mario how much I spent but he wasn’t mad. He was shocked, but not mad LOL. Speaking of Mario, he’s still not home yet and I need a shower. Jorge is supposed to bring him home. He’s over there right now and they’re trying to figure out how to install Jorge’s new garage door opener. We went over there last night after we left Cata’s get-together (where I was told I looked FAT in a picture, thankyouverymuch), and it was all cool till I was told to explain something and then was VERY RUDELY interrupted. Those who know me, know I could punch someone in the face when they interrupt me. Needless to say, I just shut up and stayed quiet the rest of the night before I said something offensive. That just really gets to me.

Anyway, going to clean up a bit more before heading to bed.

The Boys’ Dentist Apt. & Thinkin’ About the Future

In continuation to this morning’s post…the move went smoothly, thank God. I was smart this time and backed up every single thing (just downloaded everything on the server to my computer), saved all the CHMOD #’s for my CGI things (Megabook, Greymatter) and then just re-uploaded back to this server. I was worried for a bit since my old username wasn’t the same as the new one, and well, every single page uses relative paths since the site’s skinned, but I asked one of the TCH guys if he could help me out with changing my username (they only change it for you if they really have to) and he fixed it for me . It would have taken forever to change that teensy bit of code for the 200+ pages on this site. TCH’s already scored some referral points from me . So yay! I’m happy.

Yesterday morning Sonia picked the boys and I up (since I didn’t have a car) and took us to their dentist appointments. They did pretty good; better than I thought they would. Jaylen was the bravest one though, and walked proudly in front of us and was the first to jump on the chair. They put that new protective plastic-type stuff on his teeth to help prevent cavities. He did SO good. He only screamed twice: once because the light was in his eyes and the other time because he tasted the gel stuff. The first time he screamed Eenan freaked out and started crying in the corner. When it was Eenan’s turn, he was kind of scared and screamed everytime they’d spray water in his mouth and suction it out. But other than that, he did good too, and they put that protective stuff on the left side of his mouth. The first time he got it done he only gave them a chance to do it on the right side because he was freaking out.

They got a little baggy with a toy and pencils and toothbrushes, so they were happy . I got Eenan an excuse and we dropped him off. When Sonia dropped us off at home, I noticed I’d forgotten my keys. Great! So I had to climb in through a window. That’s always fun .

I spent the day cleaning. It smelled SO BAD in here because of all the pets. We hadn’t changed their sheddings in a week and a half or so. I hate cleaning the rats’ cage because they smell and nibble and darnit, they’re Mario’s pets! He’d never change my hamster’s, gerbil’s or rabbit’s sheddings . But I held my breath and cleaned their cages out. We went to Dollar General (one of the only “stores” in this city besides Family Dollar ) where I bought some Hawaiian Breeze plug-in things and other stuff we needed and got some notebooks, scissors and water colors for the boys since I promised them I’d get them something if they cooperated at the dentist. Now it smells so good :). I love Hawaiian Breeze!

OMG, I’m watching TV and they said in California it’s ok to own a “big cat” (i.e. a TIGER) if you have a permit. I WANT A TIGER!!!

Anyway, the house looks pretty decent now. I’ve still got the bedroom to go but ugh, I’m tired already. I wish these boys (husband included) would keep this place clean! I feel like a maid .

When I’m not cleaning/cooking or tending to the family or TRYING to surf the web I’m thinking about a year and a half from now. In approximately a year and a half Jaylen will be starting Pre-K, and I will have 4 hours to MYSELF. Wow, “myself”…what a concept. For the past 5 1/2 years I’ve had a child attatched to my hip. I can’t even fathom what it’ll be like to be here ALONE. And, I probably won’t want to be here alone which is why I’m trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. What I want to do for a living. I think about this constantly and still can’t decide what I want to study for. When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher, then a vet. I can’t do either because 1–I don’t think I have the patience to be in the same room with that many kids and 2–I don’t think I could stand a little animal dying in my arms at least once a day. Everyone tells me to do something with computers but I don’t even know what. I wanted to go into the medical field, but ugh. I don’t know. I think what causes me to just come to a hault everytime I decide I want to do “this or that” is thinking, “What if in 5 years I totally hate this job?”. I don’t want to hate my job :(. When I worked in retail, I hated going to work. It was fun the first couple of months — shoot, even after I turned that guy in for stealing and his little friends TRIED making my life a living hell, I liked my job. But, when they started keeping us till 12am, it got old and I didn’t like it. That’s why I want to go to school–to get a good job where I won’t be working from dawn till dusk. I hope I can decide soon. I don’t want to just go into something at the last minute and end up miserable .

Anyway, last week I paid off Mario’s Pell Grant. We had to pay back since he stopped going to school. Well, I got a call today from another woman from another collection agency saying we still hadn’t paid. I told her we did and gave her all the info and she said there wasn’t a record of us paying. I call the company we made the payment to and she says she doesn’t know why anyone else would be billing us. Then I call the college and they say that since I’m his spouse they couldn’t give me too much info but that yes, we would have to pay both companies. WONDERFUL. Mario’s not going to be too happy to hear that. Another $400 !

Thinking about all that gave me a headache. Gonna go mess around with my Control Panel again. I might bring back the chat room. Well, maybe not. I’m not too sure many people used it last time. And what would the point be? Okay, scratch that idea LOL. I should go, I’m rambling.

Out And About

Mario didn’t end up going in to work . They had some other guy go in instead. He even felt kind of guilty for not going in, but he figured he’d take — and enjoy — his day off since he probably won’t be getting one for the next month.

I slept in till 10am today. I hadn’t slept till 10am in so long! It was nice . Mario’d been up since 8am but let us sleep. We ate breakfast, then Mario was outside with Vito again, who was trying to add new parts to the Prelude. When they were done, (it was already lunchtime), we left to town. Mario hadn’t eaten so we decided we’d go to Joe’s Crab Shack. I was excited about going there since I *love* seafood and I’d never been there. But unfortunately, it was packed and the seating hostess was super rude; she didn’t even acknowledge us, much less write us in, so we left. We went to Red Lobster, which was super full too, but they wrote us in right away and told us it would be a 25 minute wait. The boys were okay–not too hyper and they actually listened the first time they were told to do something. It was the best service I’ve ever had at a restraunt in all my life. She brought our drinks very quickly, our appetizer & food quickly, checked up on us frequently, and even laughed at Eenan’s jokes . The food was to die for (I’d never eaten at Red Lobster, either). For once, I ordered without adding the cost up in my head (ok, I did, but I did it without feeling nervous). Everything was really good. Mario’d wanted calamari for the longest time, so he ordered some with breaded broccoli and red peppers with shredded motzerella cheese on top. It was GOOD. Even Eenan and Jaylen had some. They loved their chocolate smoothies and popcorn shrimp and fries. Mario and I ordered the same thing: shrimp with crab meat, crawfish and lobster meat too (I think) covered in some tasty sauce and CHEESE with a baked potato. Mmmm…I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it. It was awesome. I can’t wait to go back for our anniversary next month (if all goes well) .

We went to the Sprint store to exchange Noelia’s phone, but the lady said they couldn’t just sell us another phone at sale price like they used to; we’d have to pay full price. And on top of that it was going to take forever, so we left. Went to Target to get Mario more jeans and then Pet Smart to get the rats’ food. After that, we went to Best Buy to get some DVD-Rs and a charger for Mario’s phone. We visited Gramma for a while (well, only Jaylen and I got off to see her, Eenan had been misbehaving so Mario stayed with him in the car). We got there and the first thing I noticed were her neighbors belongings all boxed up and I asked her what happened. She said the lady had passed away on Thursday. How sad . It scared me so much to think Gramma might not be here one day. I wish I could visit her more often. I hadn’t seen her in almost a month! We talked and caught up. Even had a laugh when a little old man in a wheelchair tried escaping through the back door and another little old lady started yelling, “Woooooo hoooooo!” LOL. I noticed Gramma’s even put more weight on. Her face and arms look fuller . I really hope we can get the Prelude running, and then my license soon so I can have the Sentra to myself and I can drive over there and see Gramma more often.

We went to Wal-mart after that to pick up groceries, house supplies, and wall mounts for the surround sound. Then to K-Mart to buy the towels that are on sale (we still have the same towels from when we got married almost 6 years ago, we’ve only bought towels once before ). After that, we finally came home and I helped Mario install the wall mounts. We rearranged the living room and now it’s so spacey. I don’t know why it never occured to us to arrange everything like this before!

Mario went to Jorge’s for a little bit and I fed the kids, bathed them, then read them some stories and put them to bed. Had some trouble with Eenan who insisted there were black widow spiders in his bed and biting him . He went to lay on my bed and then screamed that something burned him on the toe. He finally fell asleep when I threatened to turn off the night light and close the door (he likes it open since he can see the light from the living room). And now I’m here, making Mario’s MP3 disc while he’s sprawled on the couch enjoying his surround sound LOL. Oh and good news: my teeth don’t hurt! I actually ate and drank cold drinks without feeling a shot of pain. Hopefully I won’t need a root canal after all. *crosses fingers*

Pee-yew…I need a shower .
