Plethora of Events Leading to Absolute Boredom

I should be getting my highlights right now, but I’m not. The brother decided to bail. I IM’d him yesterday after I realized he wasn’t coming and asked him what was up. He responded with, “I’ve got some shit to do, sorry!” Mom called later on and she mentions that John didn’t want to come over because he “didn’t want to watch my kids”. I tell her, “Oh, he said he had something to do.” And she said, “Yeah right, he’s been playing Playstation since he got home.” Nice. Last time I do him any favors.

The big garage sale/flea market was today also. And of course, I’m not going to that either. I’m going to spend yet another day, stuffed in this house, with the kids and the smelly pets. *plays violin* I’m tired of that cat. Not only do I have to clear out her litter box twice a day, but I have to swat her every 5 minutes because she’s either on top of the table, the stove, or laying on top of the gerbil’s cage on top of the entertainment center because she’s just waiting to eat him. She broke a candle holder last night and then knocked down a spindle of CD’s. The rabbit won’t stop peeing and is stinkin’ up my house. When will the madness end?!?

My “bad luck” didn’t end the last day I posted. That day, the darn washer took a crap while I was washing jeans. The water wouldn’t drain, let alone spin. I had to hand wring all the damn jeans and then dry them. I got a blister from all the wringing . I’ve had to wash Mario’s work uniforms by hand every night since then, since he’s only got 2 darn uniforms. (He won’t get more because they’re supposed to get new uniforms “soon”.) Bless my mother, who hand washed our clothes for the longest time. We were joking last night at Jorge and Maggie’s about how I deserve a new Dooney .

As for Eenan’s glasses, I was positive I’d had the glasses with me in the car, and didn’t bother calling the salon as Noelia suggested. I was certain I didn’t leave them there. When it was almost 5 Mary got here and said maybe I should call the salon, just in case. So she called for me, and they were there . I asked the lady where they found them and she said they were on a seat. When I got them, they were kind of crooked. I’m wondering if I dropped them outside and someone took them in and left them on the seat. I don’t remember leaving them there at all. But anyway, I’m just glad we found them.

Wednesday was Ash Wednesday, and Mary invited me to go to church with her and Noelia. The whole time I was sitting there (sitting because Jaylen had fallen asleep, and my back could not handle standing, sitting, kneeling and carrying him), I was rehearsing in my head what I would confess. I hadn’t confessed in 8 years. I was so nervous, almost shaking when it was my turn after Mary to confess. What made me even more nervous, was that there was no private little booth; we were out in the open sitting there, face-to-face with the Priest. I got about 2 things out, then totally choked. I went completely blank. Didn’t help I couldn’t understand what the man was saying because he was speaking very softly and had a strange accent.

Mario called me that night and was so upset. He was frustrated with work and frustrated that he didn’t have Thursday off after all. He got home and we just stood there, holding eachother. It broke my heart to see him so upset. We were going to watch a movie and he just ended up falling asleep instead.

The next day, he bought a stereo and didn’t get employee price, which sort of pissed him off, but it’s a nice stereo so he didn’t complain much. If he has Sunday off, he’s going to install it in the car. He’s so burned out from work. They all are actually, from what the guys were talking about last night at Jorge’s. We got home at 1:30am, ate “dinner” and then he went to sleep at around 2. He couldn’t even get out of bed this morning. I hope he’s ok during the day.

Eenan was upset because Thursday was “Father/Son reading night” at the school. Since Mario wasn’t able to go after all, I asked Ms. O. if it would be alright if I took him. She said, “Sure, of course you can! I don’t even know why they have it this way. A lot of families don’t even have fathers present, y’know?” I asked Mary if she’d like to go with me and she said yes. So we went. We were supposed to meet at the library, but they called us to the cafeteria. I walk in there, and standing in a huge circle, were a whole bunch of fathers with their sons. I felt so weird . They were doing this whole introduction where the dad would introduce his son, state his interests and the son would do the same thing. They didn’t get to me, Thank God. We had to do all this happy, hippy, group crap, where we discussed how we should help our kids with their homework, and other junk parents should already be doing, but obviously don’t. I was so ready to leave, especially when the kids became irritated and hyper because they’d been sitting there so damn long. I thought we were there to read to the kids?! After about 45 minutes of torture discussions, they finally lead us to the library. The boys didn’t even want to listen to stories by then. Eenan ended up getting a story from the library, read it and tested on it. He got all the answers correct and we left. They picked out a whole bunch of free books they were giving out and we came home. Never again. At first I was annoyed with the kids for misbehaving so much, but then I realized it wasn’t their fault. It was the school’s for tricking us .

I called Mario that night and was all annoyed with him. I was bitching how it was almost 9pm and he still hadn’t called me and isn’t he supposed to get out at 7?? and hung up on him. I was that frustrated. He called back and told me how he had a bad day and that I wasn’t helping. I immediately felt like an ass and appologized. He got home and we ate dinner together (which doesn’t happen all too often anymore) and cuddled on the couch to watch the movies he’d rented. We only got to watch The Terminal, which was a really sweet movie. Then we had the most wonderful “alone time” we’d had in the longest time . Spending time with him really made up for my 3 days of crappiness.

I’m really hoping Mario has tomorrow off. I miss him, and so do the boys. We have bills to pay, and plans to make for the late Valentine’s night we’ll be having Monday. Still deciding whether we should celebrate tomorow instead. I don’t even know what to get him .

Random: I wish I was a celebrity who’s going to the Grammy’s JUST to get those really cool giveaways *jealous*. I think I saw a pink/black iPod!

Taking It Easy…For Now

I’m just sitting here, waiting to find out whether I’m picking Eenan up from school, of if I should call Sonia to. I actually picked him up by myself yesterday. All the other times I’ve driven to pick him up Mario was with me. I did really well .

Ah, Mary just called. Noelia won’t make it back on time so Sonia will pick him up. I can’t wait till Mario can find the time (and save up money–but that’s both of us LOL), to fix the Prelude so I can keep the Sentra here. We’re hoping to pay off Mario’s student loan and put the rest of the income tax refund on the car payment. After that, we’ll only owe 9 months or so on the Sentra. I hope it works out. The faster we pay it off, the faster we can get a new, more reliable car. These two are always breaking down on us .

On Sunday, Mario and I removed the headliner from the car. It was looking like a parachute about a month ago when the fabric started coming off for some reason, so Mario ripped it off. Now we’re going to re-cover it. It was such a pain getting it out of the door…I was praying it wouldn’t break, because that thing is non-replaceable. I dislike doing stuff like that–where I have to help Mario with something car-related–because he starts getting all bossy. I kept having to remind him, “Be nice…I don’t have to help you with this.” I hope we can get it fixed and install it without breaking it.

We were waiting around for Jorge to call so we could go over and bar-be-cue, but he never did. At around 9pm, after putting the boys to bed, Mario lights up the grill and we just chilled out outside. It was so cold that night (around 43°)! After a while, Chris arrived and we chilled out with him. We didn’t eat till 11pm, and by that time I was sleepy and tired so I only had a chicken wing and a piece of fajita.

Yesterday, I mostly did laundry and cleaned up the bedroom. Jaylen’s becoming quite a good helper . We took a nap about an hour after Mario left for work. I must have been really out of it because when I woke up, my arm was all scratched up. It was probably dangling off the side and darn Choco Cat had a field day batting it around . She’s insane, that cat. We have to close the door to the bedroom or else she’s flying on top of the beds biting everyone if there’s the slightest movement. When I’m sitting here at the computer, she’ll jump on my lap, since the computer chair is “her” bed. Most of the time though, she stabs her claws in my legs and just hangs there since she didn’t get a good grip with her hind legs. It’s quite painful. I’ve had two chances to give her away, but I’m afraid she’ll maul the new owners. She won’t do anything to my kids most of the time, only because she’s terrified of them. But still, even though I’m her human scratching post, I love her crazy ass.

I need to buy more CD-r’s to get all the crap off of my computer. Mario got all annoyed that I had like, 20gigs of music and videos and cartoons on here LOL. He does too, but of course only my stuff counts . I have but one CD left!

Gotta get some exercise, finish laundry, and clean the litter box and the bunny’s pan (well, he’s not a bunny anymore, he’s HUGE!). Then I gotta do dishes. Will be back later.

45,001 Things to do…So Little Time

*edit on 12-16-04 @ 10:48am* Holy hell . I just heard Lindsay Lohan on the Ellen show. How did she get a contract??! Oh wait, the boobs, that’s right . She’s got a shower voice. I could sing better than that. She should have stuck to Disney movies *shakes head* */edit*

I am so ready to get back in my PJ’s and crawl into bed. It’s 2:20pm and I’m sleepy . I’m done with cleaning out all the animals’ cages and the litterbox. Just to give you an idea of my *cough* little adventure, here’s a few pieces from my convo with Rejeana:

pocketsizedpixy: ok…i’ll be back in a bit when i’m done with these guys…you should see my cat desperately trying to slither out from under the bathroom door lol
Rejeana: LOL awww..ok, have fun!
pocketsizedpixy: *hacks* man i’m tired
Rejeana: lol aww
pocketsizedpixy: that could have gone better
pocketsizedpixy: yeah…i’m still not done…the CHILD let the gerbil run free…do you know how hard it is to catch a rodent that runs at light speed?
pocketsizedpixy: ok…gonna go change the rats’ bedding now…
Rejeana: WOW, how hectic lol
Rejeana: sheesh, never have a rest eh? lol
pocketsizedpixy: had you sent any messages? my stupid internet disconnected
pocketsizedpixy: god…i am SO tired
pocketsizedpixy: this time, i had the pleasure of chasing around tailwhip, mario’s asshole of a rat
Rejeana: hey, no i’m home now lol
Rejeana: BUTG
Rejeana: before i left i updated the fairy.
Rejeana: message me when you get back so i can show you
pocketsizedpixy: i’m here…trying not to fall asleep…i can’t believe after all the shit i did, i still feel so sleepy! i thought the adrenaline of chasing that damn rat would wake me up a bit lol
Rejeana: lol damn the fact that they got loose
Rejeana: and then with tons of stuff in your house to hide behind
Rejeana: wow, i’m impressed by you
Rejeana: lol
pocketsizedpixy: NO. SHIT. LOL! the little fucker kept going behind the entertainment center…WHERE I COULD NOT REACH HIM because the weight bench is on one side and the desk is on the other…then he hid UNDER the desk and i had to smash him with a mop to get him out
pocketsizedpixy: the thing is, they always get loose…but he never does that…but then again, mario usually changes their stuff, not me…bastard
Rejeana: LOL @ the mop

So yeah…fun! To think I still need to bake the peanut butter cookies and snickerdoodles, throw out the trash, sweep/mop and bathe the cat!! I may also have to make dinner for about 20 people because my brain malfunctioned for a few minutes and I idiotically volunteered myself. Oh God…and after all that baking…THE DISHES. AHHHHH!! *runs around in circles screaming*

But anyway , I forgot to mention, Saturday, when we went to get Eenan’s “dressy” shoes at Payless I saw my childhood friend, Kristina, there. It was nice seeing her. I wanted to throw all kinds of questions at her, like ‘how are you doing!?’, ‘how is so-and-so’, but there was a line of people and so I couldn’t . I don’t know how long Mary and Sonia would have waited around either LOL.

I also forgot to mention that we found out Eenan’s class (and all the other Kinder classes and 1st grade classes) are going to perform Thursday night! It’s Eenan’s first program ever! No wonder he’s been belting out all these Christmas songs. I think it was supposed to be a surprise…because they left it till the last minute to tell us they needed to wear a white shirt, black pants and a Santa hat. He’s gonna look so handsome . Already got my camera charged and ready, and I’ve got my 256mb & 64mb memory cards . Gotta remind Mary to charge her camcorder, too.

On Monday, I had to call John’s school again because those absences that were showing up for the 1st six weeks were still there. That man I spoke to said he was going to remove them in 2 days…right. I called in, because I didn’t have a car to go over there and because hell, I ain’t going again if I already got this “settled” once. The woman who answered didn’t want to give me any information…even had the audacity to tell me ‘Maybe they’re there because he’s not attending class’. Dolt. Did she not hear me just say that the moron of a man I spoke to was supposed to remove them because the computer was throwing out all these unexcused absences and they were mistakes on the school’s part? She kept giving me the run around until I told her, “Ok then, I’ll just go ahead and call the Superintendent like I intended to do in the first place and report Mr. Torres. Thank You.” She suddenly remembers I can speak to the man and says, “Let me get him for you.” Yeah. That’s right bitch.

So I spoke to the dumbass and I let him know I wasn’t happy that he still, after over a month, hadn’t removed those absences as he said he would. He says he was removing them from the computer that very moment and proceeds to tell me John may get appealed, but that most likely he won’t. Over his (Mr. Torres’) dead body. I don’t think so. But yeah, got that straighted out. That boy better pass and get his credits or there will be hell to pay.

Jose arrived today at around 9am. He needed to get away for a bit so he came down from Arizona. Mario’s hoping to get the day off tomorrow–1) so he can actually have a day off and 2) so he can spend time with his uncle.

I hope things are better at work today for Mario. He called me last night and said he had a bad day, then called later and told me what happened. He backed a brand-new Avalanche into another car and the owner was a total bitch. Instead of having the smaller-than-a-dime scratch fixed, she insisted on wanting a whole new bumper. Mario felt really bad and agreed to get her a new one. Luckily, the company’s paying for half and Mario’s paying for half. So, Mario has to pay $100. He felt horrible. He also got written up for it. He kept saying, “Merry Christmas to me” and “Well, there’s my Christmas present”. I’m still going to get him something. He wants the Carolina Herrera for men cologne. I know we’ll be short this next paycheck, but I’ll figure something out. Damn that crotchety old bat *clenches fist*.

OK…I’ve had enough of a break. Gonna go with Noelia to pick Eenan up and then I’m gonna get home and start on those cookies.
